It's not modern but that's not so bad.
Heritage vibe, old rabbit-warren layout, walk in minutes to Powell BART, Union Square, etc.
the room was very dark as pointing towards another building with distance of approx. 2 meters.
location, good price for this location, quiet
It's very run down, visible wear and tear everywhere. Couldn't turn down the heater so we had to open the windows. There were only two pillows and we usually sleep with quite a few.
It was affordable and close to entertainment.
Excellent relation price/service. People of frontdesk are very friendly and allways try to help you
I know this hotel is in a City centre location but it was very noisy. Also the bath had hair around the plug hole.
Noisy street, very small room, old
Location in city
Cleaners like to try and sort out your room very early!
Really helpful staff, basic, but amazing value hotel
Bad smell, old building, dark room, no soundproof.
Should have stayed longer.
Very helpful staff, comfortable room, good restaurants in the area, very very close to Union Square, China town, tour operators.
No matter where noisy throughout the night
Cheap rate in thie heart of the city
The noise but you can hardly have both location and quietness in Union Square.
Staff is friendly and efficient, room is big enough and clean, and you can't beat the location.
Cause our room beside restaurant so it was very noisy when the dump truck came or the waiter throw empty bottles.
I like the location. And I also like the neighbourhood. The ambience quite nice.
its an old hotel
the place near the center good bed . a bit old hotel need a renovation the wifi was very good
The guy at reception ate while I was speaking and he gave us a room already occupied. I opened the door and there was another person in room. incredible. Our room smelled and the waitress did not cleaned the bathroom sink in 3 days. The wifi did not work in the evening
There was nothing particularly bad. It was an older building so the bathroom sink was outside of the actual bathroom which wasn't a bad thing, it was just weird.
It was very clean and the staff was nice. It also was perfectly located.
Nice place, nice location.
This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Shabby room, unbearable noise during night when someone starts cleaning garbage containers, not mentioning that "cleanness" of the room makes me still feel sick.
The only good thing was the location and free wi-fi
Room was small, bathroom was miniscule and was not provided with wash cloths or toiletries apart from soap. Expensive for what you got.
Location was closer to Union Square and within easier walking distance to public transport.
Very noisy at night. The hotel is old so had an "old" smell.
The location to Union Square and the Bart station was good. The room was clean. We were only there to sleep so it served our purpose.
Room is small
My window (309) overlooked the alley with dumpsters and the parking garage, each night I woke up several times because of the garbage trucks, even on Sunday 2 AM! Also taking out some of the old furniture wouldn't be too bad, as these are big items making the room look small, like the bed side tables and the double (?) desk. Replace these with modern, smaller items, same with old fashioned flower bed cover and the overall look and feel of the hotel will be much better. What I also missed was a safe, but in all was a very pleasant stay.
Location, quick check in and out, friendly staff, old but clean hotel, plenty places to eat next door as well as Union Square. My room even had a bath tub, with good water pressure and hot water. No A/C but I think you really don't need one in SF, just open the window
