Price was good and hotel was centrally located.
Hotel was very dated. The room i got was full of flies and when i went to open the window it was filthy with mold. I received a new room and I was pleased.
I had no wash cloth in my room along with one hanger. I was able to get 2 more hangers from a staffer. My room was just above the garbage cans for a restaurant next door. There was noise all night, garbage trucks etc. I know I did not pay much relative to other SF hotels, but I expected a bit more.
Noise at back of hotel which overlooked a yard where vehicles loaded throughout the night. Run-down public areas of hotel.
Location was very convenient so this was a perfect place to crash after a late night out on the town. If you're looking for a great value and not too concerned with plush amenities this is a good place to rest your head.
Vanity was seperate from bathroom, but in an extremely small area.
We have stayed here 5 times in the past 3 yrs. Great location. Good value.
Can be noisy, but after all it is in the center of The City.
right downtown san francisco and made the reservation only about three days ahead. Great price for location.
No smoking anywhere in hotel had to go outside on rainy night.
Placement near Union Square
Cleanliness, smell, street noise
parking too far
Great location near Union Square, 3 blocks from Powell St. Bart Station. Excellent price, nice room for an older building. Clean with comfortable bed Very helpful staff checked us in early $16 shuttle pickup to SFO
Really cheesy aluminum windows (not original). Lots of street noise. Bring ear plugs and you will be fine. Don't go into the Tenderloin. Stay on the Union Square side.
WiFi almost didn't work. Room is extreamly small. No heating/ cooler. Unpleasant smell in the room.
The location is perfect! Walking distance to everything.perfect hotel if all you really need is the basics.
The only lock that locks from the outside is the one on the doorknob. The room was clean but far from immaculate.
The hotel room was clean, bath was clean, shower was strong and hot, bed was very comfortable and the window opened for fresh air. Provided access to inexpensive airport shuttle
They provided towels but no wash cloths, small bar of soap but no shampoo. Furniture was very worn and kind of old, no ammenities inside the hotel like a vending machine for water or sodas or coffee service. Requested a room on a low floor away from the elevator and was initially placed right next to it so they moved me to the top floor. Elevator was a bit scary, creeky and slow. Need to add a handicap grip bar in the shower as the step in and out of the tub was a bit high.
Close by to Union Square if that's important to you.
- Place is smelly and poorly maintained. - The person at the reception who checked me in was obnoxious and rude. - Noisy street. - The room felt dirty and unpleasant. Just pay a little extra and sleep in a proper room elsewhere.
I had an emergency and they were going to charge me a whole other day because I wasn't going to be able to check out by noon. They would not give me a late checkout due to going to hospital. Rooms Need to be updated!!! I will never go back
Location is great, rooms are adequate and good for the price and location. I'd stay there again for sure.
Staff were brisk and uninterested, but not terrible.
booked at $76/night in Christmas season, which is dirt cheap in SF.
totally substandard hotel. the staff basically admitted that the wifi was chronically non-functional, even though the website advertises 'free wifi'. This was a showstopper, so I checked out after night 1 of a 4 night stay. to their credit, they gave a full refund and were very nice about it. I think they immediately re-booked my room for a higher price. you get what you pay for here.
Very noisy early morning . even at 7 floor can hear very loud sound out side.
price and location are excellent!
honestly I'm just really glad we found a place to stay for our annual union we were this year. Location was perfect and staff was friendly. wifi was free and fast.
other guests were noisy. cigarette smell. parking was a pain.
The location and price! Our room was very quiet, and this was a short stay. So perfect. This was definitely on the quaint side and not a modern kind of hotel.
The receptionist was quite rude and pretentious! lol! but this is SF, so ....it goes with the territory, hopefully he made it in the modeling agency and left the behind the desk job ;)
Old hotel. OK to stay one night consider of the good location.
For the wifi you have to go downstairs to the lobby (which is only a small hall). Here comes the BIG PROBLEM. When I went down to the lobby at 4 am ( time difference) the receptionist has the door wide open and it was 50 degrees F outside, by the way the heat was off for the whole hotel. When I asked him to close the door because it was freezing, he got into such an anger state and started yelling at me that nobody will boss him, kept on screaming...made me so scare, until finally he told me he will call the police, so I asked him to call them. Which was the best thing because I was scare, then he kick me out of the hotel and the police himself told me that was best for me to get another hotel and that he was going to keep me company to the new hotel, since the street was full of homeless and didn't want nobody to steal my luggage.....4 o'clock in the morning???? I'm glad the San Francisco Police are there to protect us.
