Location is great Staff are really friendly and helpful
the walls are thin, I can hear water running noise very loud , people closing doors, and talking.
The hotel itself had a beautifully designed exterior and interior. The staff were friendly and the location was great.
Room 606 was the perfect height for a view but only had a view of the air conditioner mounted in the window. The room was at a slant due to being an old building and the mattress was made in 2004 and was very uncomfortable.
Location and very helpful staff.
Our rooms faced the street so noise was a bit of an issue but not to bad I guess for staying in a hotel in the middle of a city.
Very small rooms
Fantastic hotel! Very kind services, stylish decoreted and clean. They made an evening happy hour almost everyday with good music and wine at the lobby. I would recommend and I will return.
The local was excellent
The room was quite small for 4 people, 3 adults and 1 child
Location is excellent and the staff was very helpful and friendly.
There was no fitness center and then coffeeshop.
It is perfectly situated for the traveller to experience the essence of San Francisco - the crowds of Powell, the trolleys, shops, restaurants, the street buskers, easy access to/from airport by Muni system; easy exit to Highway 1. I liked that the hotel was small and welcoming, rather than an impersonal behemoth. Rooms a good size with all amenities, coffee facilities in room and available in foyer in mornings. Wine tastings in evening. Restrained decor, great artworks throughout Staff very helpful and knowledgeable. Parking available for a fee. Great value hotel, in an excellent position. We had a Powell St view which kept us thoroughly entertained - we watched the city come alive each morning, settle in for wine /coffee for lunch and slowly wind down in the evening. Loved it and strongly recommend that you consider the Hotel Union Square for your SF stay.
The rooms were classic with modern furnishings. It was an exciting and homely atmosphere, but still felt clean like a 4s hotel. I really like the high (14-16ft.) ceilings that opened up the place.
Courtyard is, well, not really a courtyard. Windows were hard to open/close and were not locked when we got there.
Location and price!!
Guy snoring in the hotel room next to us. We turned on our fan for white noise and it was fine.
Rooms are small but cozy. They were working on the plumbing in between 12pm-4am and I didn't hear a thing.great location and access to everything the city has to offer.I always check there rates before anything else. And usually am comfortable with $.I'm like a 10 time visitor to this establishment and will continue to visit whenever in town. Thanks
size of the room, strange small in the hotel
Location, Location and Location
The room offered at the price I paid. I paid USD 927 for two nights for a room which looked like a make shift arrangement at the top of the hotel.
was a weird smell throughout hotel which they tried to cover up in the rooms with extra strong air fresheners that drove us crazy until we found it behind tv and put in hallway....
From the moment we arrived the staff were friendly and helpful especially concierge Jewel. The wine reception each evening was a lovely touch with Paul providing gentle jazz and modern favourites on his guitar.
good location, coffee and tea serving, wine tasting
not effective heating in the room, no heating in the bathroom, strange smell in the hotel, old hotel equipment and building
Great location, clean, modern
Not enough shelves in bathroom and room for storage.
Wine hour with the guitarist
Cleaning personal most the time didn't give enough towel and face towels
The beds were comfortable and free coffee in the morning at the lobby was nice. The location was excellent.
It was obvious that the building was very old. The walls were thin and the rooms were small. The room with the double queen bed was much better with the room with a single queen bed. The toilet was so small and dimly lit, one could hardly see anything.
Friendly staff. Our maid even took the extra effort in folding some clothes that were on our bed. Rooms were very comforting and rooms were very clean. The location could not have been more convenient and will most definitely return. Jewel your concierge is a true gem. He was very helpful in giving us directions. We loved the free coffee, coco & wine. That was a very good extra. Great hotel with priorities in the right focus -- your guests comfort n satisfaction. Thank you also for accommodating our early check in. Great property!!
It 's a nice hotel , very quiet , very easy access to the city center , is ideal to be very few days because it is close to all the sights of San Francisco
Excellent location in the heart of the city, friendly staff, and very clean.
Room was a little small and it was slightly more expensive than I would have liked.
Loved the decor and location. Close to everything but relatively quiet in the evenings. The staff was professional and friendly. The room was clean and comfortable. Great wifi connection in the room.
The walls do not buffer sound from adjacent rooms very well, but enough if you aren't too light of a sleeper.
The redesigned rooms are very nice. Very smartly designed for being an old hotel it has been updated nicely.
