The creative use of a historic bldg. The very convenient location. A mere few steps away from restaurants, shopping, transportation. It was great.
Great location downtown.Alex at front desk was great. When asked about a mini fridge he had one sent up. Coffee in morning, wine from 5-6 pm In lobby.
Street noise.( I asked for a Powell st. Room) My bad.... Panhandlers are a major annoyance. Not hotels fault though .
Hassle free check in and out. Close to most things. Seemed pretty safe. Having the valet parking is a must in a city that seems to actively hate vehicles of any kind!
San Francisco is expensive for what you get. Enough said.
The proximity to Union Square, BART and AT&T Park.
The corridors were narrow and a little creepy! The first room they gave me seriously had no windows and a large air conditioning unit as soon as you open the door! The second room they moved me too had windows but was way smaller and there was an AC unit in the window so I couldn't open the window and I couldn't block out the light. I didn't sleep at all and I had to run a 10K at 7:00am the next morning! YIKES!
a) terrific location b) Several restaurants in same building c) 2 minutes walk from Powell street metro station d) Tram car on Powell st
I had to run shower tap a long time to get hot water
Clean, friendly, great concierge service, hotel right in the heart of SF
No view, poor lighting, shower height adjustment broken
Room size vs Money
was surprised to see how updated and modern the room was, location is great for tourists and staff was very friendly.
the view from my room was another wall/window, they did not have complimentary water in the rooms and very thin walls.
Terrible. We were very disappointed.
The staff was very friendly The room was adequate size it was in a great location Parking was tough, but that is everywhere downtown San FRan Bed was comfortable Concierge gave us 4 places to eat and they all were outstanding
One of th Valet guys was not very nice, but just one the other was really nice
The wine social was a nice touch and enabled a casual start to the evening
Location for getting around the city was excellent.
The room was not as clean as I would expect for the price. Very noisy at night trash cans being dumped all night
Worn out. No air conditioning. Stains on the sheets. No food. Dreary dark hallways. Appears to have been redone In the boutique style that was so hip 15 years ago but now just looks old.
Location. Close to key parts of town Maintenance staff was very polite and professional.
Common areas. The hallways to the rooms are very poorly lit and smell badly, like the carpets haven't been cleaned in years. I stayed on the sixth floor. Rooms are tiny and room carpets look dirty. I did not feel comfortable walking barefoot in the room. Very cheap carpeting. My A/C was not working properly and front desk was reluctant to do anything about it, first suggesting I didn't need to use it and then saying that many guests actually like the loud noise. After insisting, Front desk said maintenance would look at it at 8am. At 10am maintenance man came and cleaned the filter. It looked like it had been years since they cleaned it. Outside of front lobby the intense stink of marijuana greets you as early as 7:30am with garbage everywhere (not hotels fault but still there). For $300 per night I would expect more for my money.
The executive double queen #504. The room was spacious, had a refrigerator and an excellent view of Powell Street.
The deluxe king #411. The room was extremely small. The price was only $25 less than the executive queen and hardly worth it.
I liked the view to Powell street! Jewel at the front desk was really helpful giving great tips! I want to come back!
Tiny rooms(not what is shown while booking :( ) Rooms need tlc!!! Paint chipping Dirty carpets Dirty smelling elevator and hallways
Great location. Right in the heart of Union Square.
Parking was confusing and very expensive. No in room refrigerator.
Hotel has complimentary wine between 5 and 6 every day in the reception area. Great, easy to find, location. Room was clean and quiet considering central loation
Room was very small. You couldn't walk down on side of the bed and the was no space to open two suitcases. Considering the price we paid the room was not great.
Very friendly staff Free wifi Free coffee/wine Small place, no wait at front desk or elevator
A bit noisy, which is natural in the middle of SFO, but there was a lot of construction going on when we were there
As a couple we had differing opinions. I thought that if you were only using a hotel for sleeping, it was fine even though we had to run the window air conditioner all night.
Imagine a bright, sunny, colorful room with the salt of the Pacific dancing through the air. Now get rid of that thought, and imagine a 9 foot square tan room--tan carpet, tan walls, tan bedspread, and tan window unit air conditioner. That's it. In the elevator before we saw our room, a delightful same sex couple said to us, "Have you seen your room? Prepare to be underwhelmed."
We liked everything. i found an amazing deal online as my boyfriend and i were coming out for a wedding in los altos. I loved the decor, housekeeping was so friendly, the parking you have to pay for (as everywhere) but to get your car all night without a problem is perfect. Front desk professional personable and helpful in every way. Couldnt have hoped for a better time!
Room didnt have window but it didnt matter! on vaca wondering about all day and partying at night the no noise no light able to sleep hard was perfect fr waking up feeling refreshed!
This hotel is located right in front of the cable car line. It is very convenient to all sorts of transportation options and lots of good moderately priced diners and restaurants.
No room safe. Due to a window AC unit, we could not shut the blinds completely and stores across the street keep their windows brightly lit all night.
