Located a 2-minute walk from Union Square and a classic Cable Car stop, this San Francisco hotel is in the heart of downtown San Francisco's shops, galleries and restaurants.
Score from 588 reviews Very good
The room was very small but I was alone so it did not matter so much. There was a heat wave and the room did not have air conditioning so it was a bit hot. Also, the cable car runs right in front of it and it makes a lot of noise all day long.
Fantastic position, just behind Union Square and near cable car stop. The hotel is completely renewed in furniture....the only negative thing was that our room was very very small.
Tom was professional, friendly, and helpful in providing us information of things to do. Room had character and comfort...exactly what we look enjoy.
Sink was too small....but we managed
First room was 12x12, a queen size bed and a bathroom. No place to sit and watch TV.
Looking on the outside of the hotel I would never guessed how lovely the inside was. The staff was helpful and friendly, and the hotel had free wifi.
We paid $325 for one night and our room was terribly small and the closet did not have a light. The price seemed outrages, but maybe it's because you're in Union Square, so they have to price accordingly.
The room was large and the bed and pillows were comfy. I requested a room with windows and AC which is what I got! The shower was good too!
The bathroom was small with nowhere to put cosmetics, etc. The room faced Powell Street with nice windows but the noise kept me awake.
Modern room and very clean. Very central location.
Nice but very small room (queen). Book a larger room if you stay more than one night or have lots of luggage.
The location is great
The room is too small and there is no possibility to have breakfast at the hotel. The price is very high for what you get, but this is generally everywhere in San Francisco.
Consierge Jewel - he was amazing.
The location is fantastic. The convenience of Walgreen's & Starbucks eased the inconvenience of the lack of dining facilities on site.
It was not clear when booking that there are no facilities to eat on site. The steakhouse next door is satisfactory, but not the sort of food you want to eat for a whole week.
Rooms were very clean and the hotel was quiet. It was superbly located close to some very nice restaurants and in close proximity to the cable car/tram.
There were no rooms capable of accommodating all four of us so we had to book two rooms which made it quite expensive. The bathrooms were also very small and there was no room to store toiletries apart from a tiny little shelf.
Cable was messing up the whole time, the front desk is not friendly, the rooms are very small, no amenities
Hotel was charming, beds comfortable, rooms clean.... Location was incredible !!! Right in the heart of the city...will definately stay at this hotel for our next visit to San Francisco
Nothing ... Except the cost of parking is really high...other than that great experience
- Price would be good if no vehicle - Staff tried to up sell - Phone staff gave wrong pricing, then front desk wouldn't accommodate for it
Cleanliness, spacious, very handy location, friendly staff to help when required, not overbearing. Tea & coffee in morning & a cold glass of water on returning to the hotel. A great renovation!
The staff were friendly but unobtrusive and the room was cleaned early in the day. The hotel is so close to all shopping and eating establishments.
The hotel had a very strong unpleasant smell although luckily not in our room. We had a room with two queen beds which were old and one was quite uncomfortable to sleep in.
Location was perfect, the staff were all super nice and the wine reception was amazing. The gentlemen playing the guitar and singing was great and I loved meeting some of the other guests. I will definitely stay again.
No negatives, it was great.
It is right in the middle of union square.
Shower leaked all over the place and the bathroom was TINY. Smallest sink EVER.
Pictures made the room look way bigger then it was. Was shocked how small it was for the price.
I requested a view for my room. I honestly thought they were just going to over look my request and give me whatever. But they told me they gave me a view of the streets. I was happy I got a nice view.
Room was a little too small for my liking. But maybe that's because I chose a one person one bed, room.
The hotel has charming décor, a friendly staff, and appears very clean. It is close to popular restaurants, shopping, and only blocks from Moscone Center and related facilities.
For these prices, I expected A/C to be part of the amenities. In my 5th floor room, primary ventilation came from opening the exterior window, coupled with a 6 story ventilation shaft accessible by opening small windows in the restroom. Don't drop anything.
Great location and helpful staff.
Sound insulation was quite poor. We were woken up every time someone went to the ice machine and when the guest in our neighboring room turned on their TV at 5 in the morning.
Location, location, location and helpful staff
Small rooms, badly renovated, overpriced
Pricey Room was much smaller than the web pictures!
The convenience to Yerba Buena…the European atmosphere…decor - soothing colors yet rich & vibrant…instant hot water
Not crazy about the view of the fire escape and the lack of 'REAL' air…noisy bathroom door & no night light ...for the price there should either be a breakfast voucher or a lower parking fee
