David and Mitzy were wonderful and interesting people. They shared a fabulous dinner and breakfast with us and the cabins couldn't have been more stylish and comfortable. I can't wait to go back.

The Old Pioneer Garden. I don’t know if I want to tell anyone about one of the best keep secrets and how Mitzi & David ( the innkeepers ) treated us like family and about the great home cooked breakfast with the farm fresh eggs. It was incredible. We got the best nights sleep ever. I felt like I had step back into time. I thought not having Internet and cell service would be hard. Boy was I wrong! It would have taken away from the beauty of this place. Don’t forget to bring your camera. I wish I could keep this place all to myself.

It is off the beaten track, in a real old ghost town. The cottages don't look like much from the outside, but inside they are fabulous. Beautifully furnished, with occasional tables made from unfinished tree branches, lovingly finished wooden floors, shuttered windows, a four burner gas hob in the kitchen, a state-of-the-art coffee maker, a gargantuan fridge/freezer, comfortable warm beds, the list just goes on and on. We slept soundly and warm, with the furnace running all night, and woke early to have coffee and for me to write an account of our stay before joining the host and hostess for a lovely breakfast (oatmeal, waffles and syrup, omelette, crispy bacon, toast and plenty of coffee. And of course delightful conversation over the breakfast table. That our stay was only overnight.

Excellent well-kept and maintained units in an old historic ghost town. Interesting history of unionville and the development of the old pioneer garden facilities. Would recomend for a several day peaceful getaway in the remote countryside. If you are looking for lots of activities, unionville is not the place. If you are looking for a delightful setting to experience the beauty of the great basin desert, with time for reading, relaxation and reflection, consider this strongly

The solitude and tranquility only attainable in a setting such as this has no equal. The inn is tastefully decorated, obtaining a timeless quality; it was like staying with old friends. The animals (both domestic and wild) reinforced our sense of peacefulness. David was an engaging host; Mitzi’s gentle demeanor and delicious home cooked breakfast soothed our weary souls and readied us to return to the city. The stay was truly a delight!

We are half way through a4 week road trip of west America and found the Old Pioneer Garden the most authentic accommodation so far. If you want pools and room service then move on as this b & b is far from that but it is an amazing experience for the more adventurous traveller. Would we come back, darn right we would! Amazing hosts, authentic accommodation, wildlife and breakfast with the family. Could do with a coffee maker in guest accommodation as you are miles from any amenities.

The Inn was very remote but the setting was very peaceful. I enjoyed seeing the cottontails and quail in the morning. Also the goats were very friendly. I also enjoyed speaking with the hosts about the history of the Inn.

Very rustic--charming--too far off beaten tract for us. Breakfast served at 8:30--we had to be on the road by 8:00. No hair dryer- no amenities-shampoo-soap-etc. Very clean-friendly

Nice people. Home-cooked meals. Pretty grounds. Great place to view wildlife. Very quiet. Great place for a family reunion. Uncomfortable beds. The whole place needs a thorough dusting. Rooms and bathrooms were clean but living areas needed attention. Very rustic properties--like stepping back in time. Do not come here expecting a spa-like experience. Rooms are located in one of four houses in which you may be sharing kitchen, living quarters, and bathrooms with other guests. There was also a creature living in the attic that was audible late at night. Some people will find this all charming, others not so much. Except for a small campground, this is the only choice for accommodations in Unionville. In fact, it felt a little like camping. They did not have my reservation through Booking.com. I advise calling to reserve a room.

Hi. For us the best part of the stay was the staff. Mitzi and Dave were great. Very very friendly people. The facilities are very clean and comfortable. The morning breakfast was fantastic. Also note that dining places in the area are limited. When I asked Dave about this he said that Mitzi could have dinner for us. They are truely nice people...
