High ceilings Good breakfast Beautiful room Great staff
Other than that the hotel is great. The pool on the 5th floor is a great little get away. Only 2 minutes from 6th street & you can walk to the museum. I would definitely stay again.
Parking is extra. On the street or in the garage.
Free upgrade to King suite. Comfort of bedding. Location excellent for proximity of univ of Tx. Breakfast buffet was nice.
I loved the location and the large comfortable room.
The breakfast was just not good at all and the pool had too much chlorine. We tried to swim but had to get out because the chlorine was so irritating.
"Location" depends on what you are in Austin for; it would be excellent for a lot of people.
As the title of this review would suggest, it was a clean, modern and comfortable hotel. Rooms were a nice size. There's a small, outdoors, pool and sunbathing area with a nice view of the city. The breakfast is fantastic and I over did it every morning! It's a good location - near to the Capitol Building and walking distance to downtown. There's a bus top outside (but Austin bus service is terrible...cheap...but sparse!)
Just one thing to watch out for here is your bill. We were initially charged the current room rate rather than the rate locked in at the time of booking. Once we noticed and brought it to their attention it was fixed right away but it seems that their system doesn't acknowledge the rate given at the time of booking but rather gives out the current rate - so do just check that before you leave.
Would be nice to have movies on demand and a restaurant on site. The breakfast was the best buffet we have had on the road.
I love that breakfast was included and with good options. The dinning room was clean with chereful staff attending to the tables. The cost per night was reasonable. That I did not loose anything in the hotel was commendable, as there was no safety box which I was rather suprised to see, but it all worked out in the long run.
I might be wrong but I believe the WIFI if there was any could have been made available for free. The bed sunk in the middle with two people sleeping on it which made it uncomfortable as one some times don't want to cuddle the whole night. The bed was fine for one sleeper. That there was no safety box, it made me uncomfortable at first but since I did not loose any of my belogings, it didn't matter after all, but it will be nice to have peace of mind right from the beginning.
Reliability of Hampton Inn. Clean, nice linens, clean attractive bathroom, good breakfast.
This Austin hotel was brand new. I was disappointed that practically the entire decorating scheme for the hotel was very dark: dark brown, dark grey, everything was too dark: rooms, rug, walls.
Didn't spend much time at hotel but it was clean and didn't have any problems. The only problem was due to a miscommunication between Booking.com and hotel regarding rates. BUT, both Booking.com and the hotel staff did a wonderful job of correcting the mistake.
Very clean and comfortable. Hospitable, friendly staff.
Need tortillas and salsa with the otherwise solid breakfast. We're in Texas dammit.
the location good breakfast service
no gowns, slippers
Although the room we were given was nice, it not the room we had a confirmation for ,, Hampton Inn ,, said our booking was not passed on by your company..
I did not like the fact that the Hampton Inn had no reservations for us when we got there. They said that Booking.com had not passed on the reservations. We had to settle for a room that was not on our confirmed reservation printout. We were lucky that they had a room available.
Parking and baggage transport up to rooms at night is unacceptable.
Staff does not follow through. 1. I asked for a razor, they didnt have one but promised to bring one up. Never happened. 2. Had to call 3 times to get a copy of my bill because I booked it through booking.com. Made it seem like it was my problem that they could not get a bill to me.
nice location in walking distance to most sites large rooms, very clean, self-parking availbable
nothing, all good
The style of the hotel... smart casual
Clean, decent breakfast.
Bath tub didn't drain, but it was fixed by the second evening.
We liked the tall ceilings and quiet rooms.
The breakfast buffet could offer more. No glueten free options.
Spacious rooms Free beakfast Staff
Fridge and air con were a little loud
Staff very helpful, good location,
The breakfast was not up to the level of the rest of the hotel
Very nice well kept room, good cable - including HBO. Relatively close for us to walk around downtown austin.
The room was a bit small for the 5 people I had paid for the trip. A nice room none the less.
Hotel was clean, comfortable and staff were really friendly and helpful. Love the Southern hospitality!
Our biggest disappointment was the breakfast. The hot breakfast was really poor. The scrambled eggs were powdered eggs and really rubbery. We expected the good quality breads, like wholemeal and seeded breads but it was all very white, white, white and poor quality. The cutlery was all plastic and the plates were disposable. We have stayed in much cheaper hotels and received better quality produce and service. We were also upgraded to a suite on our first visit only to find we had an internal window that was mainly covered and it felt like night time all day. The room was lovely, big, clean and comfortable but just too dark! However they did upgrade us on our 2nd visit to a room with a balcony which was great. Shame there wasn't a bar where you could get a drink and good coffee! The pool was lovely although a little small but you couldn't buy a drink up there. There wasn't even a vending machine. I'm not one to usually moan but we expected more for the money. I just want to reiterate that all the staff were all lovely!!!!!
The beds and pillows were very comfortable. Slept very well.
Shower drain cover was broken loose from the drain.
Last night people in neighboring room were very noisy
