-Incredibly kind, courteous staff -Excellent location, beautiful views -Gorgeous historic hotel

We found our room to be quiet and comfortably furnished. The bed was very comfortable.The bathroom was clean and well appointed. Communication and entertainment facilities were also excellent. The furnishings outside the bedroom (hall, lobby etc) were particularly well appointed and pleasant. A continental breakfast is provided in the Black Cat Club on the third floor; it was quite adequate, though a bit unvarying. The dining and bar facilities on the top floor are a delight Staff assistance is excellent

The rooms are not air conditioned. Since this is San Francisco and the location is atop Nob Hill there would be no concern on most days of the year. Potential guests should be aware that the corner of Powell and California Streets is a bit of a climb from Union Square.

ห้องนอนใหญ่ ภายในห้องดีพร้อมทุกอย่า พนักงานต้อนรับผู้หญิงให้ความสะดวกในการเช็คอินเร็ว ซึ่งดิฉันได้เดินทางไกลจากประเทศไทยถึง San Francisco แต่เช้า และเขายังช่วยเหลือเราในการหาสถานที่ที่เราต้องการไป- โดยหาทางอินเตอร์เน็ต และยังพิมพ์ออกมาให้เราด้วย น่ารักมาก เงียบสงบ นอนหลับสบาย

อาหารเช้ามีให้เลือกน้อย พัก 4 คืน ก็ยังไม่เจอขนมปัง ไม่มีพนักงานดูแลในห้องทานอาหาร เวลาแขกต้องการความช่วยเหลือก็ไม่เจอใคร ไม่ค่อยเห็นแขก ลูกค้าคนอื่น บางวันก็มีแค่เรา 2 คน (8-9 am) ค่อยข้างจะไกลจาก Union Square ซึ่งจะต้องเดินไปหลายช่วงตึก และต้องเดินขึ้นเนินซึ่งสูงและไกลมาก เดินกลับมาที่โรงแรม แต่ก็คงจะดีมาก สำหรับคนชอบเดิน ก็สนุกดี และทำให้ร่างกายแข็งแรงด้วย

De ligging: precies op het kruispunt van de blangrijkste lijnen van de cable car. Zeer kleinschalig hotel, 14 kamers, met een bijzondere sfeer: het ademt een tradionele engelse clubsfeer uit. Voor het restaurant is er een dresscode van toepassing! Beperkt parkeren bij het hotel mogelijk moet van tevoren gereserveerd worden. Diverse parkeergarages in de directe omgeving aanwezig.

Ontbijt was bijzonder: beperkte keuze, veel zoetigheid, geen brood

Très bonne situation au croisement de 3 lignes de Cable Cars et à la limite du quartier chinois. Le charme surané de ce club à l'anglaise. La vue depuis le salon et la terrasse du quatrième étage. L'accès gratuit au hammam, sauna et squash.

Le personnel gentil mais peu compétent

Breakfast left me wanting. I guess I expected more given the location and the facilities.

The hotel common areas had a lot of charm. When you walk the staircases and through the lobby, it as if you step back in time to a different era when clubs like this one were the place to be. The staff was friendly and acommodating when asked for, ice, directions, and printing boarding passes. The hotel also has a nice continental breakfast in the morning.

The hotel rooms, especially the bathrooms were not very clean. Light switces, floors, doors, and toilet looked as it they had not been thoroughly in quite some time. The hotel lounge and bar is not open on the weekend or the early part of the week. This was not readily apparent on their website. The facilities did not some simple amentities that are found in nirmal hotels. For example there are no ice buckets, glasses for water, or ice machines available to guests. If you wanted ice you had to go the front desk and ask for a drinking pitcher full. When I asked for two bottle of water, the clerk pulled two warm bottles from the store packaging on floor. Little did I know that each warm bottle cost $3. and change....really. It would have been a lot more comfortable is the hotel made some of the more standard hotel creature comforts available to their guests.

Excellent location, very nice staff. Rooms very clean.

1) No lock on the window 2) No table or any kind of counter in the bathroom to put any toiletries on.

Good value for the price. The room was an adequate size with adequate amenities. The location was ideal for my trip. The staff was helpful and pleasant.

Comfortable, quiet, convenient, parking available, great overall value . We'll be back the next time we're in the city.

Bar/dining pretty substandard for the location.

Very fine clubby feeling; tradition exudes from all corners. I also liked that hard boiled eggs were offered as part of the continental breakfast.

We liked the atmosphere and architecture of the 1908 building, also the pleasant staff and surprisingly excellent continental breakfast.

Being able to use the University Club gym was fantastic.

No air conditioner. Open windows + clanging trolleys = noisy bedroom
