Clean, quiet, convenient location. Staff very helpful and friendly
We really liked the economy of the rate and the free parking, the size of the unit and the scale of the building.
The strong scent upon entering the unit. Fortunately, we had time to open the windows and front door and air it out (45 mins). Unfortunately, people (not just here) conflate clean with cloyingly sweet smelling -- using products that turn your mucous membranes inside out.
My son was having surgery and staying here made it easy to get to U of W Roosevelt in the morning. Has everything you need for short or long stay. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything you would need to cook all meals.
Generous lounge, dining and bedroom areas. Close to transport into the city and close to Safeways for supplies. Staff were obliging and warm. Old style motel but nicely furnished, light and bright.
Kitchen equipment was very limited. No chopping boards, bottle openers etc. Laundry was expensive. Room was up two flights of stairs which was difficult for suitcases but they did mention this on their website so we had to expect it.
a little bit older
Near the University of Washington, many Chinese restaurant around. Good place.
Great Location, parking garage, kitchen facilities, and separate bedroom
1950's decor, old bed and pillows, sofa wasn't a hide-a-bed but there was plenty of room for one
Spacious, clean, good tv, good beds, friendly staff.
no elevator, parking, no one in office to check out until after 8:00.
clean,good price,good parking,good location.
new carpeting was nice, but bathrooms need updating, and some furniture needs to be replaced.
For the price its a value. The linens appeared clean. Beds were newer than the surrounding furnishings.
Outdated, and slightly creepy. Shower is not a place I wanted to spend a lot of time due to its terrible water pressure and outdated fixtures.
Far from the center
Close to the university. Clean. Very big space and complete kitchen facilities.
There was not a secure parking. Nothing happened but a bit worried during the night.
Bathrooms need help
Good value (relative to other hotels)
You could hear noisy people in the room directly above. So reserve a room on the 3rd (top) floor!
towels a bit weak
The apartment was big, the furniture is a bit old fashioned and the bed too soft but overall it was a good value for money in a very quiet neighborhood
You need to have a car
The kitchen was stocked so one Could prepare just about anything other than baked goods.
First, I was assaulted by the overpowering floral scent in the hallways which created an allergic reaction. There was no hot water in the unit for a bath, and though the owner was willing to come up to my unit three times, there was no resolution. Then, the water refused to drain even over night. I had to use the adjacent unit to get a shower prior to departure. I was a weary traveler and paid for lodgings to have peace and soak from seven hours of driving. This was lots of action with no results. In the morning despite my DO NOT DISTURB sign I had the cleaning man at my door. I was given what I considered a modest discount given the circumstances. I spend about two months in hotel rooms annually...one of them in Seattle. There are positive aspects to this property. I wish the owners handled things differently, but, because of all the issues, and not being given a decent discount, I will not return.
No lift to three storey floor
We really liked how much you got for the amount of money, it was great having cooking facilities and so much space, it was very comfortable. The location was overall very good with lots of restaurants to walk to, we could walk to the canal, and a fair amount of bus services onto the city and other locations. The staff were very helpful and accommodating to our needs. The bed was very comfortable.
Not the motel's fault but there was a fair amount of...sort of bums around the area (this may just be normal for Seattle though I don't know). There also happened to be lots of traffic diversions around the area making it a bit annoying to get places by walking at times (again not the accommodation's fault). The suite was a bit retro which we really liked but I imagine some snobby types might not be into that. We also found the TV a little tricky to figure out how to turn on, but that may just be us!
comfortable, spacious, friendly helpful staff
the "Avenue" needs some care--looking very seedy and rundown
We liked everything about the Motel, the commodious suite, the location the staff friendliness and helpful attitude they showed throughout our stay. We also loved how clean the rooms were and the kitchen was great for our purpose also.
There is nothing we could be critical about and that is usually not the case. We have stayed in many more expensive hotel/motels and they were not any better or welcoming.
I have stayed at University Motel Suites several times this year. Each time, I have had a quiet, very clean room. The beds are comfortable. The couple that runs the place is most welcoming. And free off street parking. Love this place. I'll return again and again.
I was surprised at the size of the suite (enormous).Friendly staff, quiet inside the walls. A good location for public transport by bus to the city.
Having to lug bags up and down stairs.
