Good location , quite and central to downtown
Staff not friendly on front desk , did not even make eye contact with us ...glued to their computers when talking to us . Not welcoming ...the guys in the reception were chatting away when we walked in and waited for them to finish their chit chat before they even looked at us.
Location, price and free breakfast were great. Interesting layout.
Most guests were college students who left their doors open and congregated in the hallways. On Saturday night, the police were called to quiet down guest on the second floor. Found lots of empty liquor containers in the hallway and elevator the next morning.
My daughter and I checked in and left after we were followed to our room by a man who was walking out but when we passed him he turned around and followed us. Then he stood outside our door talking to someone on his phone in another language. You enter rooms outside and ours was facing the freeway. Did not feel safe at all. The room was disgusting, my daughter said "I am not sitting on that bed" I agreed and we immediately made a reservation at another hotel. The pictures on this hotels website look nothing like the actual place. By the way we ended up staying at the Red Lion on the river and it was the exact same price but absolutely no compareson. If you book this place good luck, you should think twice.
If you have a pet, they downsize you to a room with no amenities - not even basic WiFi.
The hotel was technically 'downtown' but it was pretty sketchy. The only good thing was the price (which ended up being more than it said due to parking)
Pretty much everything. No wifi in the rooms. The free breakfast sucks, the room was mediocre the beds we're diocese . I mean there weren't any bugs/rats but it wasn't great
Friendly staff, very clean, room substantial with amenities (except wi-fi). Exceptional breakfast included
Wi-fi only available in select rooms, not aware of that when booking but it was available if we wanted to go to lobby, which we didn't.
Nice staff, good bed
Wifi was bad, cleaning of the rooms wasn't great but a good overall stay
Great bed, perfect location, good breakfast, very clean, and all that at a great price! We walked everywhere and enjoyed our special Portland weekend.
Had a little trouble getting the wifi, but the staff was friendly and took the time to explain it ... several times.
love the cookies breakfast having a microwave & fridge in room
Satisfactory accommodations. No complaints. Staff friendly and easy to deal with. Check-in and check-out was easy
Difficult to access the free Wifi
The first room they put me in was much older and needed updating. The locks on the door did not work. After being unable to access the room 3 times they switched my room and was given a much more modern, better room that was fine.
Location was good; situated close to downtown, at a much lower price than others in the area.
Staff was very unhelpful/unfriendly. Looked like they were either all students or on some kind of work program. Room was not cleaned one day, and when we requested more towels brought to us, they never arrived.
Easy to get to OHSU.
The location was good. Only a couple blocks from the light rail, which is in the process of being extended to right in front of the hotel. Breakfast had many options and Was close. Wasn't the best food, but it was good and it was nice that it was included on the price of the room.
No refrigerator or microwave in the room which made it hard for us to stick to our budget without being able to use our leftovers. Very old facilities and rooms. Probably the oldest elevator I've ever seen. The whole place smelled like cheap lotion.
The location was perfect.
Location, high speed internet (Ethernet)
Most staff were unfriendly, it felt like you were bothering them and they had attitudes
I have a Princess & Pea syndrome - the bed could be more plush. Under-standably that is an expensive "fix" for you. I like the value & other comforts of the hotel, so it is a trade-off. We will come again!
The rate and location were the reason we booked for just one night. But you get what you pay for.
The hotel has clearly seen better days. It's the motel style layout with windows on the corridor, and our room was very dark and looked out on yet another corridor. There was not wifi in the room, just an antiquated Ethernet cable that was useless with my Mac. The beds we're just ok and the breakfast was nominal.
Clean facilities and courteous staff
Kinda dated. Need a major make over.
The breakfast was decent and location was good.
Terrible unfriendly front desk when checking in, rude and evasive staff, not clean hallways and overall roims, Wi-Fi didn't work, pool closed, hotel needs updateing. Just overall service was like no one gave a damn.
I liked the location more then anything. The room was comfortable and clean. Nothing special...
The wifi or supposed to be wifi was a joke. I never did get it to work. Good thing it wasn't a business trip and I really needed it. For that price, I want free wifi! That's really my only complaint though.
Breakfast was awesome and much more than expected with all the hot foods! Fridge and micro in rooms. Laundry on site added bonus. We will return in warm weather so we can use the pool. This place was clean and staff delightful!
It was inexpensive.
Restaurant had meager offerings. Just 1 comfortable chair in the room.
Convenience to downtown and freeways.
needed some maintenance....simple updating. wallpaper peeling, etc...drawers very old and damaged. no mention of continental breakfast hours. restaurant not open. probably won't return . . . other hotels/motels with same good price in better shape.
A friend and I stayed for Comic Con and it was only two miles away which was nice. The room was clean and the bed was comfy. You get a free continental breakfast and there's a small fitness room and a pool as well.
The main boy, and I called him boy he was young, who helped me check didn't seem very competent. I believe his name was Eric, but I'm not sure. Check in time was 3:00, we stopped by early to drop off our luggage. I asked if he could call me if the room was ready early. He said sure just leave my phone number. I said he should already have it on file with my reservation and replied with, "Yeah but I don't know your name." I had already said my name when I got there, and he could have just easily asked my name. He must have been on some student work program. Also, to park your car there is $15 a night which is ridiculous. Hotel advertises free wifi but it is only in the main lobby unless you want to pay for it. There is however an Ethernet cable in your room for free internet if you have a laptop.
