Score from 311 reviews Very good
Excellent service Clean rooms and bathroom Good Wifi Good location
Very noisy at night Night life from the back of the hostel very loud
The staff treated us well and were rather hospitable. The location was also exactly where we wanted to stay for a decent price. Loved the community room and free breakfast.
Early morning noise, beds were uncomfortable, tenants were inconsiderate, maybe add fruits to breakfast
The staffs did everything they could to help every time, everything was very clean, the room was cute, it is a very good place to stay, I would back anytime. Very good for a hostel.
The heater of our room wasn't working very well.
I've been in Urban Holiday Lofts for 3 nights. I'd like to highlight the costumer service. The hostel is near 3 blocks from subway station.
We had a great time in Chicago and found this area to be a travelers delight. Close to the train line, heaps of funky bars and shops and we felt safe. Urban Holiday Loft staff were always helpful and gave us all the information we needed about the area and more.
I would have preferred Breakfast to start a bit earlier than 8am. Beds were comfortable but squeaky/noisy.
I came to Chicago to see a concert and check out the city. I didn't need a 5 star hotel with all the frills because I wasn't going to be in it. I just needed a clean, safe place to crash after rocking out and Urban Lofts was perfect. The staff was awesome and super helpful!
Position in the city, gentleness of the front desk, safety of the room, pool table (!!!), easy access to the subway, amount of restaurant around.
WiFi network is not accessible despite the codes, the separation between rooms is weak and you can hear everything, especially between different floors, the temperature of the air conditioning cannot be set up in the single room and it was too cold.
Location, friendly staff, price
Community bathrooms, could hear everyone else during bed time
the location is right next to hipster district wicker park with a lot of boutiques and bars, but in a quiet street. plus: close train station, always felt safe when walking home during the night.
breakfast was poor, no room service in 4 days, they did not even empty the trash can. room did neither have a window (!) nor a wardrobe. only one toilet per floor, which means you have to wait some time in the morning till you will be able to use a toilet... I would not stay there again even though it is cheap.
We were going to a concert down the road and my buddy was stopping by my room and walking with us. When he tried coming up they said he couldn't because he wasn't a guest. They also told us to turn our music off because the rules state no music can be played after 9:30. I payed 225$ for one night and I felt like I was living with my parents. Don't ever stay here!
The people in the front deal were awesome and the facility was really good and the location was perfect. People in my room were good. Made a good friend.
Our stay at Urban Lofts was great. The Bucktown area was a fantastic area to stay, lots of restaurants, shopping, and easy access to transit. Staff were friendly and extremely helpful. Can't say enough about how accomodating they were. All in all, a pleasant stay.
The hotel is well localized.
I stayed in a bedroom in the 3rd floor and it was noisy.
Not possible to make agreements with the place. They were pretending friendly but did not meet pur agreements.
The convenience to Blue Line, free parking although it was a little worrisome as to whether there would be a spot available when we came back late in the evening & the market & restaurants close by.
There was very much noise from the floor above causing sleep to be difficult.
Positioning near damen CTA station, staff so kind, clean building
No elevator. But you have only 3 floors
The place is located At the heart of a very nice neighborhood. Very close to the blue line train. The staff is the friendliest most helpful people I have ever seen. Great value for money.
the walls were bit thin .. but honesty, after a day of exploring the city you'll just sleep.
Clean rooms, nice lounge, residential location, close to train station
The price and the free breakfast.
One of the workers was very mean when we checked out and refused to call us a taxi to take us to the train station. We almost got our luggage stolen.
The hotel was very hip and urban. It was also very clean.
This is not a place to bring kids. Some guest were loud until early mourning no one (staff) did anything about it. The photo online was very deceiving, did not say anything about a "community " bathroom or no Tv in the room. Glad I was not staying longer than one night
- Staff were friendly and informative. - I shared an 8 person room and the room was big and spacious and looked relatively new and clean. - Location is awesome, I'm glad i stayed and explored this area away from Downtown for a few days (although it is easy to get to DT if necessary). Trendy cafes/bars, second hand shops, two blocks from the train (the same train line which runs direct to the airport). - I was given a sheet with cheap eats of the local bars/cafes in the area for each night of the week - handy for a traveler.
- The wifi barely worked in the rooms themselves. For a traveller without a USA SIM this may be a real problem for long term stays - Might need two pillows - they are pretty thin. - Maybe more information required for the area of what to do/see to be displayed around the hostel or in the rooms - it's a great area!
I was thoroughly impressed with the customer service. The staff was both friendly and helpful! Also, the established was clean and cozy with such a fabulous ambiance:) The water for my shower was always hot, no matter the time of day and a bathroom was always available. The locked entrance door added a sense of security. Lastly, the location was perfect! Close to downtown, but in an area that had "everything." I will most definitely recommend this hostel!!! It was the best hostel experience I've had to date:)
They only provided a drying towel. Fortunately, I brought my own wash cloths:)
It is located in a very good , convenient location with many bars and night life. Also 10 mins by blue line to the citycenter. Stuff was very-very nice and helpful, provided many tips and also accepted me before 2pm, because of these 2 nice guys, I would recommend this hotel! :)
No elevator in the hotel, but when I've arrived they helped me to bring my luggage. When I left there was only one lady and she did not help. Breakfast could be improved to include some more stuff, but for this price it is acceptable.
Greate services and cleanliness
Sometimes I had problems with internet
Great young feel to the Hostel in a lovely area. 5 min walk from the main train line so perfect for days out. Lots of bars / shops around. Although advertised as a Hostel it didnt really have a hostel feel which was great.
