The people in the front deal were awesome and the facility was really good and the location was perfect. People in my room were good. Made a good friend.
Our stay at Urban Lofts was great. The Bucktown area was a fantastic area to stay, lots of restaurants, shopping, and easy access to transit. Staff were friendly and extremely helpful. Can't say enough about how accomodating they were. All in all, a pleasant stay.
The hotel is well localized.
I stayed in a bedroom in the 3rd floor and it was noisy.
The convenience to Blue Line, free parking although it was a little worrisome as to whether there would be a spot available when we came back late in the evening & the market & restaurants close by.
There was very much noise from the floor above causing sleep to be difficult.
Positioning near damen CTA station, staff so kind, clean building
No elevator. But you have only 3 floors
The place is located At the heart of a very nice neighborhood. Very close to the blue line train. The staff is the friendliest most helpful people I have ever seen. Great value for money.
the walls were bit thin .. but honesty, after a day of exploring the city you'll just sleep.
Clean rooms, nice lounge, residential location, close to train station
The price and the free breakfast.
One of the workers was very mean when we checked out and refused to call us a taxi to take us to the train station. We almost got our luggage stolen.
The hotel was very hip and urban. It was also very clean.
This is not a place to bring kids. Some guest were loud until early mourning no one (staff) did anything about it. The photo online was very deceiving, did not say anything about a "community " bathroom or no Tv in the room. Glad I was not staying longer than one night
- Staff were friendly and informative. - I shared an 8 person room and the room was big and spacious and looked relatively new and clean. - Location is awesome, I'm glad i stayed and explored this area away from Downtown for a few days (although it is easy to get to DT if necessary). Trendy cafes/bars, second hand shops, two blocks from the train (the same train line which runs direct to the airport). - I was given a sheet with cheap eats of the local bars/cafes in the area for each night of the week - handy for a traveler.
- The wifi barely worked in the rooms themselves. For a traveller without a USA SIM this may be a real problem for long term stays - Might need two pillows - they are pretty thin. - Maybe more information required for the area of what to do/see to be displayed around the hostel or in the rooms - it's a great area!
I was thoroughly impressed with the customer service. The staff was both friendly and helpful! Also, the established was clean and cozy with such a fabulous ambiance:) The water for my shower was always hot, no matter the time of day and a bathroom was always available. The locked entrance door added a sense of security. Lastly, the location was perfect! Close to downtown, but in an area that had "everything." I will most definitely recommend this hostel!!! It was the best hostel experience I've had to date:)
They only provided a drying towel. Fortunately, I brought my own wash cloths:)
It is located in a very good , convenient location with many bars and night life. Also 10 mins by blue line to the citycenter. Stuff was very-very nice and helpful, provided many tips and also accepted me before 2pm, because of these 2 nice guys, I would recommend this hotel! :)
No elevator in the hotel, but when I've arrived they helped me to bring my luggage. When I left there was only one lady and she did not help. Breakfast could be improved to include some more stuff, but for this price it is acceptable.
Greate services and cleanliness
Sometimes I had problems with internet
Great young feel to the Hostel in a lovely area. 5 min walk from the main train line so perfect for days out. Lots of bars / shops around. Although advertised as a Hostel it didnt really have a hostel feel which was great.
When I booked they forced me to book in female room, so when I came at 4 am they told me that I can't fit in and there were no choice except a praivate room which was way too expansive There were 3 big windows in the praivate room I couldn't sleep bcuz of the much light Also at 4 am there were people talking outside really loud It was really bad I don't know why it had good rank
nice hostel, 10 min with the blue line away from downtown. The hostel is in a nice really urban area, lot s of cafes, restaurants and bars. I enjoyed the atmospher.
Hostel is really noisy, the walls are really thin, you can hear everything.use earplugs.
We loved the friendly staff and the cleanliness of the lofts.
Staff, and the community feel to it.
Wifi was slow. Walls are thin.
My family and went to Chicago for a family wedding and Urban Holiday Lofts was a wonderful place to stay. The location was perfect, with the train being only a couple of blocks away and there were plenty of places to eat within walking distance. The staff was very helpful and the accommodations were clean and pretty spacious for a hostel.
Having some fruit included in the breakfast would have been a good addition. Some shades/blinds/curtains for the rooms with some ability to block the sun would have made the stay more comfortable. We used 3 different rooms and everyone said the same thing about being awakened with the rising sun!
The staff and location are great. I really enjoyed my stay there.
The WiFi signal is terrible and the drape near my bed were broken.
The front desk service was amazing!
Location Staff Comfortable bed Clean and friendly place
The location was great, shops and restaurants abound and the atmosphere was very comfortable. Location was especially good for me as it was very close to where my son is living. Very convenient location off the Blue Line and CTA bus routes which made getting around pretty simple.
Room was a little noisy but nothing that was unbearable but some sound proofing maybe could help.
it was just a lot better than the website lead me to believe! great place and i definitely will return!
Really enjoyed this place. A short walk from Damen train Station, this hostel is one of the better ones we've stayed in. We had booked a double but on arrival We were given an extremely tiny twin room with no air conditioning and no fan (it was 33° celsius) they said they didn't have a double room available but we could check in the morning. so our first night was pretty uncomfortable. However they did source a room for us the next day which was bigger with air con and a double bed. Shared bathrooms throughout which can be a pain sometimes but the facilities were clean and modern. Staff friendly and helpful Good self catering kitchen and large common area. Free breakfast of cereal, bagels and tea & coffee was great. Washing machine and dryer at very reasonable rate
Pillows were terrible. Also the dooners have no covers on them. We thought at first you had to do it yourself but it was just a top sheet for the bed. Didn't make sense to us. There were no mirrors in any if the rooms and no hooks behind the door or racks of any kind in the room to hang your towel (remember shared bathroom facilities throughout entire hostel). We had unseasonably warm weather whilst there and the air conditioning system was on in the hostel - however it seemed very hit n miss if you actually got any in your room despite the visible silver outlet.
