A great international atmosphere in the middle of the city!very close to everything, reccomended!!
place was clean close to many places
too much noise from outside does not quiet until about 3 AM
Great location in the gas lamp district and a lot of restaurants bars just next door. The staff are super friendly and helpful. And its a very nice breakfast where we got to do our pancakes, make sandwiches and also wash up after us.
In the morning there was a queue for the showers and toilets but it went ok. For those who want to sleep late, it may be a problem that they start playing loud music at 8 in the morning.
I loved this hostel with it being so central in San Diego. Nice huge lockers to store your stuff and wonderful staff who are very helpful. Bathrooms were nice and kept really clean and was quite impressed.
While taking a shower the water would go from warm to cool sometimes.
I stayed for a week because of Comic Con, and had booked well in advance. Asked for a quiet room (not disturbed by noise from the surrounding clubs), and got that. The hostel is very charming, with a relaxed atmosphere. Restrooms were clean. I had brought my own towels, but you could borrow (for free) if you needed. Kitchen had supplies for making breakfast, with basic breakfast foods available. Good wi-fi.
I heard of other guests, who had booked later than me, that had gotten a cheaper price for the same room. This was a little annoying, otherwise no complaints.
Right in the middle of downtown San Diego location is ideal.
I would have liked if there was air conditioning. It was very hot most nights.
Location was great. Staff was nice. Especially guy from Germany and Australia.
Steps and no elevator-it was horrible. It's not very clean and it was too hot in the room. Poor breakfast only last day was nice breakfast. They don't make your bed every day and u have to make your own bed when u arrive.
I'm traveling for more than 6 months for central america and north america and this is the best hostel that i stayed. Everything is good here!! The location; The Staff is helpfull; It's very clean and confortable; The wifi works well.
-Makes you to be more exigent when you go to others hostels =]. -Could provide towel.
Always someone at the desk, friendly and up to date on bus service and info;coffee in the lounge - early before 6 a.m. as I needed to be off early.
Good location, great breakfast. Comfortable bed, big lockers. Great hostel!
Couldn't be a better location for a hostel. Staff very helpful. Two Ipads for free use available. Colorful decoration. At least twice cleaning per day of restrooms. Fully equipped kitchen and laundry facilities
Nothing not to like.
location, in the heart of the gaslamp district, not far from convention center/lots of restaurants
Great kitchen, laundry room. Lots of friendly and interesting people staying at the hostel as well as those working there
It would be nice to have separate girls bathroom vs guys bathroom
The atmosphere of the hostel and the staff were excellent. Although we had our days already planned, I really liked that the hostel was organising very interesting activities everyday (surf lessons, Tijuana daytrip, etc).
Rooms were crowded and noisy and the bedsheets were sticky. Also the noise from the streets was too much during the night.
friendly and helpful personell, great location, lockers with power, clean, organised, easygoing
Location & staff
They billed me for a night that I had already cancelled. Too many stairs Not a good place for older travelers--HI hostel on Market & Fifth is better. It is cleaner, has an elevator, and is an all-around better choice.
Nice, well organized hostel, with lots of free services and activities.
It faces a loud street at night.
So loud. I could not sleep well.
I really loved the whole atmosphere of this hostel. The beds with the privacy pods were very nice and the staff was very friendly and super helpful with everything. The downtown location made it very easy to get around and pretty much everything you need was in walking distance. I was skeptical about traveling by myself and having to stay in a mixed dorm, but I felt very comfortable and safe in this hostel.
The only thing is that there weren't enough showers or restrooms for the amount of people there this weekend, and I had to wait in line to take a shower in the morning. There also was hardly any water pressure in the shower.
Great place to do activities
Perfect location. Staff super helpful and nice.
Extremely loud, and they don't have any kind of blackout in the windows, so you will have to wake up early with the sun in your face.
Pretty much standard hostal accommodation, in the heart of the gasslamp district which is the most worthwhile visiting in the first place. Plugs by the beds and in the lockers.
Basic but still pricey for simply a bed in a room with strangers.
Loud outside noises.
good location , good staff
For my first time in a hostel everything was really good. The staff was excellent the beds were comfy and the hostel was right in the middle of the action! plus the wifi was good I loved it!!
The only thing is that when you take a shower the temperature kept changing from really hot to really cold. But other than that everything else was great
