Location was perfect Friendly staff Hanging out with fellow travelers from all over was really fun and interesting
Bit overpriced Entrance smelled
Fantastic location in the middle of the gaslamp quarter for a good. price. Very friendly, energetic and helpful staff. Good well-maintained shared facilities.
Staff was at front desk all night. they have an area to make your own breakfast. there was an outlet in the bed so you can have your phone next to you.cheap and right in downtown.
Rooms and bed are a little small, so you are right on top of your neighbors. the shower situation was not explained fully so that was a little confusing. still good for the price.
The hostel is located in the Gaslamp Quarter which is a nice area during the evenings. The common areas with toilets and showers are clean. Good breakfast. The hostel organizes an activity for their guests each day. Also lots of recommendations at the hostel of places to go and how to get there.
The closest parking lot is about five minute's walk from the hostel and costs 15 USD for a day. Is a bit loud from time to time although the rule about quiet hours between 11 pm - 8 am were usually followed so the nights were fine.
Friendly staff, complementary breakfast, lots os activities
No elevators, few bathrooms.
Nice staffs Breakfast
Common room is not so enough space!
- Free breakfast - Free (and fast) WIFI - Great location
- Small room without window to the outside
Great location- lots of places to eat, grab drinks, and shop. Staff- super helpful and accommodating.
Ideal location. Military guys looking for for downtown place to base from.
The price of bear in the bars. The hostel was brilliant
Extremely helpful staff - couldn't have been moreso. Friendly youth hostel atmosphere. Despite other comments, quiet at night, peaceful. Couldn't fault it.
This is exceptionally good value accommodation - if you are looking for 5* luxury go and find it in an expensive hotel. If you are happy with clean, basic facilities that ooze charm but not pampered luxury - this is your place.
Staff were very attentive and friendly. Location was great as its few blocks away from the trolley, the mall and it's at the center of Gaslamp District. I'll definitely recommend the place for backpackers.
Excellent location, very clean (comfortable bed), polite staff, very good value for money. Lots of choices for breakfast
- Location is perfect, close to everything and super easy to get there from airport or train. - Atmosphere is great, everyone is friendly and respectfull, very happy decoration! - Great kitchen with breakfast (make your own pancakes :-), fruits, bread, juice) and laundry. - Wi-fi worked perfectly - For a hostel the room was pretty quiet. - Good showers, in 5 days just had to wait once for 5min.
- My room was pretty small, no windows, but ok - dark in the morning ;-). - One staff was yelling 2am to kick out some guy that went to our room by mistake, not considering that there were 3 other people asleap there that had nothing to do with it.
Great location! Price was good, room was surprisingly quiet. Staff were 24/7 and really great. Shared bathroom was pretty clean.
Be aware that there are essentially 2 flights of stairs just to get up to the hostel , which is over a restaurant. Then my room was up another extended level, so luggage was something of a problem for me. Could have used more showers. Bathroom was shared male/female, but toilets stalls had full doors.
Location, good breakfast, very clean and friendly staff
Decor Staff Location Value
Please try and improve the air conditioning in the front facing rooms, at least the one I was in it was unbearable hot in the mornings.
Just drop out and you're in the Heart of the Town
Rather expensive as a Hostel. But you get what you pay.
- location for travelling - large lockers with electricity facility
Hot rooms, no airconditioning. Sound isolation is bad, u hear all noise on the street through the whole night which is very very loud. Bed's feel like plastic. No outside place to relax. Hostel needs complete overhaul.
Everything well organized
It was an average hostel with no exceptional benefit.
It is in the middle of downtown and in a very crowded location, so a lot of noise at night doesn't let you to sleep.
A great international atmosphere in the middle of the city!very close to everything, reccomended!!
place was clean close to many places
too much noise from outside does not quiet until about 3 AM
Great location in the gas lamp district and a lot of restaurants bars just next door. The staff are super friendly and helpful. And its a very nice breakfast where we got to do our pancakes, make sandwiches and also wash up after us.
In the morning there was a queue for the showers and toilets but it went ok. For those who want to sleep late, it may be a problem that they start playing loud music at 8 in the morning.
I loved this hostel with it being so central in San Diego. Nice huge lockers to store your stuff and wonderful staff who are very helpful. Bathrooms were nice and kept really clean and was quite impressed.
While taking a shower the water would go from warm to cool sometimes.
