Convenient location, nice, helpful staff, had useful amenities, little fridge, microwave, and a pool. The internet Wi-Fi was a bit busy at times, the pool was really cold, and the continental breakfast could've used a little help, but, for the $, it's ok.

Quick, easy check in. Upgraded room for free, room requested not available. Good location. Security on site and active. Overall, clean and very good value for the price. Really, nothing outstanding. Good value.

The price was comparable to motel, Walmart food shopping centers nearby, service ok, dispensers for soap cost efficient, microwave n fridge hair dryer nice Pool was dirty not appealing to use, room # missing off door, no fitted sheet on mattress only sheet.. Weird. Room service only before 11 am I assume, a bit noisy area off freeway so traffic nearby. Stayed 2 nights but only had one coffee packet, 2 sugars, I creamer packet.. Clearly not enough for 2 peopnice wish they had iron and ironing board, no cable and tv reception bad not very clear

Not much! Someone took my binoculars that I left in my room. I reported what happened to the front desk and wanted the manager to contact me. She just ignored me and did nothing. There is a theif working there and the manager probably knows who it is. Terrible way to be treated by the management. Maybe too lazy to care or possibly stealing from the motel. I will do my best to discourage anyone going to Farmosa for any races not to stay at the Vagabond. I am now writing to the nhra, ndra, nasr and other associations I belong to.

convenience and location. lot's of resteraunts and shopping. we were going up and down street looking for motel and our 23 year old son was in back seat jumping in and out asking about rooms available and cop stopped us and gave him 60.00 ticket for seatbelt. really petty crap. when we explained this he said here's your ticket.

Location, breakfast, room, close to last minute shopping, Windows need to be replaced with triple payne windows not only for security, but noise from the 99 can be disturbing, while at it maybe new cheap led flat screens would also be a nice addition

I stay at the Vagabond every time I go to Bakersfield. The staff is friendly and remember me every time I come to town. The rooms are clean and housekeeping staff is very accomodating. Perfect location, easy access to food and freeway. I have stayed at various hotels in the past year all over California paying up to 100.00 per night but none of the others match the customer service I receive at the Vagabond, nor do they match the price for what I get. I couldn't stay longer

Staff was friendly, location of the hotel was close to highway, and easy to find. Price is suitable to what you get, I'd say even more than you pay, considering it is a transit motel, where only truck drivers overnight. Thumbs up! :)

First of all, I reserved 2 rooms (double beds) and thought we would be together. We asked for a downstairs room and was told they didn't have double beds downstairs, so we were given an upstairs room (which wasn't even ready yet). Check in was 11 am, we were their at 11:05-ish. Needless to say, we had to wait outside in the cold for about 15-20 minutes. Then when the rest of my family showed up, they were each given rooms downstairs...with 2 beds, after we were just told double beds were only available upstairs. We weren't happy with that. The front window was broken and the front door knob was loose

This was a way point for me. I was on a long trip from Baja California to northern California. The staff was very efficient and extremely friendly and helpfull. The room had more amenites than I expected and was very comfortable. My dog liked it also. The continental breakfast was good and offered more than I expected. The location was convenient to 2 businesses that I needed to go to. So everything worked out perfectly for me. Nothing.

The midnight staff at the time was nice. The motel is a major trucker stopover so the small kitchen is open at 2am on for free breakfast of coffee, tea, chocolate drink or some bread. I booked mainly because of location and cost considerations. Parking is fairly well lighted at night. Room is clean, shower is fine. Heated rooms so no need to turn on air conditioning on a cold day. TV works fine. No bedbugs and sheet smells clean. Would have loved an extra pillow but can't complain. If you prefer getting your own breakfast - strip mall is a few minutes away and fast food is easy to get to. Bed was a bit soft in the middle for my taste but slept fine. It's besides the highway and may get noisy in some rooms.
