The banging of doors from housekeeping when we were trying to sleep!
Hotel is in great walking location to local amenities like movies, d sac, & soon to be Kings stadium.

Outside of the rooms the building upkeep was a bit dated and dirty.
The friendliness of the staff. The quality of the rooms and pricing.

There was nothing to dislike
Staff really had a can do attitude. Arrived early in morning at 600 hours. They provided breakfast even though we had not checked in, fast tracked us to a room, and helped to make our stay get the most from Sacremento. We fully recommend this place to other travellers

No handicap bars in the bathroom/tub (in regular room).TV reception was poor. Even though it was a non-smoking room, it smelled.
Value and location. Nearness to Old Town Sacramento.

Too near the freeway

The check in policy is archaic and wrong. I reserved the room through booking.com, got an email stating my card would absolutely not be charged until checkin (after 3pm), which was excellent since our plans about who paid for the room changed the night before. When I did check in at 5:30, the card had been charged at 2pm and there was not a thing they said could do about it. Now, I am bouncing all over the place and I can't even get a simple call back from the corporate office. Deplorable. Never again. All they had to do was send 1 email that said "Thanks for reserving your room through booking.com, please note our policy is completely different than theirs and we will not honor the terms of your booking. Here are our own..." And none of this would be a problem. As it is, I've been treated better by the DMV.
The room itself was ok, there was no deadbolt latch on the door. Mold on the ceiling of the shower. These things wouldn't have bothered me if the check-in hadn't gone so poorly. The breakfast was ok, coffee was nasty.

Old room and beat up exterior
Staff friends and accommodating
April 20, 2015
Noise of bikers roaring past night and morning! Also not enough staff on duty so check-in very slow as staff had to keep breaking off to answer the phone.
Friendliness of staff

Close to Old Sacramento, easy access to Capitol.

Great location, good value pleasant staff.

To much traffic noise, but to be expected in the middle of the city.
Great Breakfast and Breakfast staff.
April 4, 2015
Avoid rooms near office on pool side. During breakfast on our stay, staff carted dishes and supplies back and forth over cobblestones using a cart that rattled terribly.
Proximity to train station; extremely comfy bed.

Close to everything, room spacious and clean
March 31, 2015
Third floor room facing the Amtrak station was a little noisy. Rooms facing the poolside are much quieter.
Good location. Handy to Amtrak trains and to Old Sacramento Town. A comfortable walk back from Sutter's Fort. Always a good hot breakfast.

The rooms closer to the street could be noisy at nights
Very good wifi connection

Pool bottom is dirty. WiFi worked but was slow. The free shuttle driver was great. But they only have one driver for the shuttle. They wanted us to wait 45 minutes to receive a ride back to the hotel. Ended up paying for a cab. :-(
Breakfast buffet is of good quality, it has eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes, pancakes etc. The location is excellent. Close to multiple restaurants and interesting shops. Hot tub was clean and felt great.
March 22, 2015
Bathroom had mold needs to be cleaned and painted. room smelled bad, bed very uncomfortable. I had to park my vehicle on opposite side of where we were located. Breakfast was out of eggs, and potatoes were cold. at 8 am. For that price I should have gotten better service and room

Nothing to dislike.
Shuttle service was excellent-picked us up from Amtrak and also drove us to the Avis depot to collect our rental car. Staff were courteous and helpful. Breakfast was good and plentiful.
March 17, 2015
Front desk staff was helpful and the breakfast was great. Bed was comfy and it was easy to get in and out to visit friends.

Great value and centrally located near downtown and old Sac.

It wasn't a bad experience, necessarily, but being old, the rooms have glass transom windows over the entry doors, allowing outside lighting to flood the room at night. Once we got to sleep, however, we didn't notice it. Bed coverings consisted of a sheet and a down quilt, so we were either really warm or chilly, throwing the quilt on and off during the night. A light blanket would have been fine over the top sheet for the mild weather we experienced in Sacramento.
Vagabond Inn in Old Town Sacramento was a charming area. Old buildings have classic architecture and are well-maintained. The Inn itself is old, but was quiet, bed was comfortable, we had everything we needed. Staff was very accommodating. Breakfast was great. The hotel has the restaurant next door cater the breakfast, so there was a wide variety of food to choose from. It was the best full breakfast we'd had in a hotel on this trip.
March 10, 2015
The location, room comfort & friendliness of clerk at desk.
March 9, 2015
Close to freeway. A bit noisy but windows provide a good buffer. Carpet was musty smelling.
Comfy beds, fridge , good morning breakfast.
March 4, 2015
I had booked the room months ago through booking.com. I booked this hotel because you don't need to pay until you get there. The girl at the desk said no, that does not happen, it is already paid for. I tried to tell her differently, but she wouldn't listen. I was charged the following day which was fine, but it would have been more convenient to have paid when we checked in since we were splitting the bill.
The beds and comforters were so comfortable!!!

Room had a very strong odor that gave me a bad headache & it was full of dust. Furniture had a lot of stains. Breakfast was mediocre. Staff was inefficient.
Very close to my job site.
