It wasn't a bad experience, necessarily, but being old, the rooms have glass transom windows over the entry doors, allowing outside lighting to flood the room at night. Once we got to sleep, however, we didn't notice it. Bed coverings consisted of a sheet and a down quilt, so we were either really warm or chilly, throwing the quilt on and off during the night. A light blanket would have been fine over the top sheet for the mild weather we experienced in Sacramento.
Vagabond Inn in Old Town Sacramento was a charming area. Old buildings have classic architecture and are well-maintained. The Inn itself is old, but was quiet, bed was comfortable, we had everything we needed. Staff was very accommodating. Breakfast was great. The hotel has the restaurant next door cater the breakfast, so there was a wide variety of food to choose from. It was the best full breakfast we'd had in a hotel on this trip.
