Construction cuts off half parking Jacuzzi is cold You can hear the metal springs on mattress- need to upgrade mattress from the '50s
We rented 3 rooms & although we didn't expect the Ritz, we also didn't expect to have ants in 2 of the 3 rooms, not enough towels for the occupants in each room (3 people per room & 2 sets of towels or less per room.) When I requested an additional 6 sets for the next day, only 2 sets were delivered. When I went down to the front desk to ask for additional towels because no one answers the phone at the front desk even though there are clearly 1-2 people standing there, I explained that I had asked for additional sets of towels early that morning and the guy at the front desk turns around to look in a cabinet behind him, pulls out 1 & says that's all they have left because other rooms asked for more towels too! When I explained that we have 3 rooms with 9 people & barely had towels for 2 rooms, all he could say was "that's rough but we have no more towels". Wth?? Seriously? Not to mention, the parking sucks! There aren't enough stalls to accomodate the number of rooms for the property, so we always ended up having to park a lot away in an overflow parking lot that looked like a bad construction site! Terrible!! We're never staying there again & making sure all of our friends that make plans to stay in San Diego know of our bad experience so they avoid it too!!! The cost of the rooms was definitely not worth it at all!!
My family loves staying here the help are always friendly, my cats are comfy, my kid enjoys the pool and hot tub, and we all especially my husband loves the waffle breakfast.
This trip and only this 3 day stay when we packed up to go my cat not wanting to leave somehow managed to find a hole under the safe that went into the wall space. The staff was very understanding and gave us 6 hours to get her out, which we needed all but 5minutes of. She was safe and unhurt but the fact that the hole was there in a animal safe room was alittle irritating. If the opportunity arose again to stay at the Vagabond we would stay in a heart beat.
The staff were A1, Great Location, Good and clean free breakfast area, complimentary ice cold juice and water all day, no rudeness from the maids if you need extra towels or trashbags etc., and the maintenance man is great and very thorough.
There is really no area for pets to "potty" and the small area where most people take their pets is gross and full of "poo" and just seems like parvo waiting to happen. The construction is obnoxious and loud, the parking situation is inconvenient unless you are back to hotel by 5p a spot is virtually impossible.
the outside of the place looks like it has bed bugs the parking was garbage i coundn't park on the lot i had to park down the street. but when you open the door to the room it was breath taking.I've stayed at the w down town and alot of places that people know of if your judging by looks go there. If comfort is what your looking for vagabond is the best.
Unbeatable location for visiting all attractions and beaches,,staff, friendliness of everybody
Basic breakfast, waffles or cereals which was taken back to the room or eaten by the pool, but at the price paid it was acceptable.
Our room was not clean at 5:45 at night
Price room was clean
Undergoing renovation horrible continental breakfast no newspapers
Location was good, facilities were new.
The fridge or ac was leaking on carpet, which made all room smell of humid. The pool which looked huge on a photo actually was very small. There was some constructions, so was very noisy starting from early morning. Still ok for the price, but definitely not the best hotel in area, could pay a bit more and stay in much better facility.
Room was very nice for the price. Staff was friendly.
Construction of new hotel behind so parking lot was torn up and had to park in a very rough gravel lot behind a fence away from the hotel and walk back. Breakfast was very scarce.
Courteous staff throughout the checkin and checkout process. Breakfasts are simple yet filling, where else do you get Belgian waffles for free? Comfortable rooms, with fridge/freezer, microwave and flat panel tv, and the location is in the middle of everywhere you want to go in SD.
Right now the only negative is the construction going at the front and back end of the property and both sides. Parking spaces are limited but spillover parking is next door, approx. 25-50 steps from the hotel office.
If you don't mind sleeping on a rock hard bed than the rates are great if not don't go.
I like the location
I had a pizza box with bones in it from the person before me no parking because of all the constriction going on. Also the fire detector went off in the middle of the night then stopped and went back to normal.
staff was friendly and accommodating
the place in right in the middle of a construction zone. had to park in some lot off property. initially they put me in a room without a desk/table or closet? asked to change room when I found a bug crawling on the pillow, gross. they did move me to a different room which was better. like most hotels this age the carpets are stained and sticky. overall it just felt a little sketchy. believe you can do better for the price. will update after more research.
The price and location
the first night, we got in at 8pm and no toilet paper and took 20 minutes to get, then second day we left in morning arriving back at room at 330pm and room was not cleaned and no coffee supplies. Had to ask for room to be cleaned and had to leave for an hour. Then third night ah no toilet paper, no soap, no shampoo, no coffee supplies this after returning to room at 900pm, then noticed smoke alarm had plastic bag wrapped around it ROOM 130...
The rooms pleasant looking & clean.
Terrible maintained AC units makes guest rooms uncomfortable & humid & impossible to sleep in. This makes any price they charge a rip off.
location,room clean and wide,bed,parking ,bathroom,price
breakfast very bad,i not like
The staff were nice and friendly. Very helpful. Location was very nice.
The facility is old and out dated. Strange drifters wandering around the hotel. The hotel is more like an old motel from the 1960's.
Location and price
They charge you a $20 pet fee plus keep $100 hold on your card. The Holiday in Express is being built in back. The construction is horrible for their business. Parking is a joke if you arrive late. Why have rooms with not enough parking space.
Convenient to major tourist attractions.Helpful staff. Waffle breakfast was something a bit different which we enjoyed
Lack of parking spots a bit difficult at times but I guess that is partially due to building of other hotel towards back of property
Location and free wifi and parking
Location near freeways
They had plumbing issues in bath, not cleaned enough up to my standards.
Staff was very helpful. We arrived very late (after midnight) and there was someone there to greet us. Wi-fi was excellent. Breakfast met expectations for the money. Room was clean and comfortable.
Clean pool, spa, very helpful staff, waffles in the morning as breakfast, free ice, enough parking lots (sometimes right at the room, sometimes next to the hotel), we would definately stay there again
construction work next to the hotel
