This facility seemed like I was in the 70's . The hall ways had a musty oder and were dark and uninviting. The beds were terrible and for the price I will find somewhere else my next stay in Eugene!!!!!!!
I enjoy the decor, the staff met our personal requests quickly. The food in-house and in the surrounding area is great and shopping Eugene is right out the front door. Downtown Hult Center access is less than 10 minutes. Valley River Inn is a great location.
Mattress not as good as my back would like. Bed decor could be classier.
The shower had shampoo conditioner and body wash and plenty of towels and coffee
That in the rooms were bottles of water that cost 4 bucks each wish they were free
Front desk was helpful and friendly. Sink drain was blocked but repairman came promptly at 10:00 pm.
Not real clean and very outdated
Paper thin walls. Not enough pillows. Terrible towels. Broken coffee maker. Poor location. Bug I'm the bed!
No hot water, hotel rooms were old. Service was below average.
Excellent experience. Great sta
Beds were really nice. Loved being on the river walkway.
A little dated. The price was high because of the Ducks game :(
Location next to a really scenic walking trail was a plus.
WiFi was horribly slow. Facilities were older and felt shabby. The staff was courteous but unenthusiastic. All in all, not much to like.
The kind upgrade, the mattress comfort, the housekeeper very nice and quiet and quick and a decent restaurant. The front desk staff lovely!
The pillows were pretty awful....lumpy, an odor and pillow cases too small
Right down the street from where I needed to be and very quiet.
We had to wait a long time to check in as there was a long line and only one staff member.
Nicely decorated modern room.River access and views create beautiful private setting with a relaxing feel located conveniently next to shopping and restaurants.
Very good staff, fast wi-fi
Very dated, like an 80's ski lodge. Noisy facing river with highway and train tracks nearby. Hair in tub, used washcloth on sink.
Placed in handicapped room with very bad bathroom accommodations. Asked to be relocated and was told nothing available and that the computer did not have the room as a handicapped room. Then told all rooms were like the one assigned to me. Long story short--Not!
Staff was great. Friendly.
Hallways smelled like Curry
We had a great view of the river! We had no one above us so we slept great. If your on second level or below you can hear people walking above you. Room service was great and so was the food.
The hotel was quiet and mattress ok. Restaurant was OK for breakfast. View of river and the pathway are nice.
The place is showing its age. Sheets are wearing out and rooms need refurbishing. Doubling the price during U of O football games is waay too much for this place.
Location was excellent and the suite upgrade that we received was very nice
Charged us for two nights and promised a credit (yet to be rec'd) for the second night. While the property was nice I feel that it is very over-priced considering age and condition.
The gentleness of the location, overlooking the Willamette River, was the highlight. But everything about the hotel was just as advertised. A very fine night, indeed.
Perfect Location on the river, good shopping within walking distance, excellent parking, Easy access to Autzen stadium, freeways, downtown, Eugene Country Club, restaurants. Excellent warm, friendly, efficient service particularly the front desk (Michael), concierge, and restaurant. Exterior of the Inn is very inviting, very good pool facilities, We stay here every year for all of the football games plus other occasions. Interior guest area and front desk are in good shape and very inviting. The restaurant features a river view and is well laid out to provide the best views from nearly every seat . The outside patio dining area is exceptional (Weather permitting).
Now the other side of the coin. Most of the interior seems like it has not been touched since the 1960's. Old, worn, shabby,dark,etc.,etc. I am aware that some rooms have been re-done, however we have not experienced any makeovers to our knowledge. We recently paid close to $300 per night which included plastic cups (2), frail towels, one ply toilet tissue (cheap, cheap, cheap), no refrigerator, both the sink and shower drains drained very slowly and if the water was accidently left on in the sink, the hotel would have major water damage, the floors under the bed and behind the single night stand were filthy, the light was out in the magnifying mirror, the bed mattresses were not very comfortable, and lastly there is only one nightstand to serve the four sides of the queen beds. In short words the interior of the hallways and the bedrooms are a dreary, dark, unkempt mess and badly need an infusion of needed capital to retain market share. Remember that a brand new A+ class resort facility will soon appear on the banks of the river in another prime location and the Valley River Inns future is in jeopardy. The General Manager, Mr. George Rogers needs to read this missive. This comes from a long time loyal customer who wants to see the operation succeed and remain a viable destination resort. R.G.
