Proximity to main attractions in Manhatten
Ok . A tad expensive for what you get , but , I guess that's NY .
It was a nice place to stay for the price. Only negative point is it's not right by a subway stop, when it's cold out this becomes a slight problem.
While the room was small I was impressed with the comfort and facilities of the hostel. It was a lovely surprise to find a gym and 2 pools to chose from! very well located.
Unfortunately while most of the staff were fairly helpful - I found some them quite off hand and one in particular... extremely rude to me.I was shocked by her behaviour! Spoils the experience
Cheap, easy, great location
Radiator did not turn off...
HORRIBLE RUDE STAFF ESPECIALLY THAT SUPER VISOR. When i checked in the lady said that i could pay (preferably in cash which is illegal) any time that i want to while i was there. I told her when i found time to go to an ATM i would pull out the rest of the 200 from my 600 dollar bill as soon as i can. Two days into my stay i was rudely waken up by a staff member who told me if i didnt come down and pay (in my pajamas and hadn't brushed my teeth yet) in five minutes my key would no longer work. I got up, left my friend in my room, pulled the cash out of my purse and went down. As i was down there explaining that i needed to pay the supervisor came up to me and began yelling at me telling me i had an extra person staying in my room. I had just woken up and was terribly confused. When i asked him what he meant he informed me that when i left my room, a housekeeper had gone into my room (regardless of my do not disturb sign) and seen my other friend in the room and reported it to him. I explained that i had paid for a two person room and that was the other girl in my room and he yelled at me, called me stupid, and told me he knew i had a THIRD Person in my room. He wouldn't let me back up to the room to get my things without "giving my friend up". I told my other friend to come downstairs and they searched my room for a third girl. They had security check the entire hotel and they made me pay EXTRA for a 3-4 person room. I had no money my entire trip because i spent 1200 total on my room for 5 nights. Paying for a 3-4 when i should have been paying for a 1-2 person room. It was ridiculous. The staff was not understanding at all and every time i came back into the hotel, even after i checked out, they interrogated me about "my third friend" who never existed. Horrible place. don't ever stay here.
Value for money indeed. Staff were friendly with excellent service. Security were also strict in the flow of people going in and out of the building. Convenient location with a 24 hour Deli Bread & Butter just across the street which offers good food. Definitely will recommend to friends.
Convenience, price and gym facilities.
Broken elevator, bathrooms out of service.
Gas heather made the room uncomfortably hot. It took over two hours to cool it down to acceptable temperatures. No fresh air.
Loved that there was a fridge in my room, and that the kitchen was always open and had an ice machine, filtered cold water tap and boiling water tap. Having access the the gym facilities was also good. Hot water never ran out in the showers. And the location meant you could walk to Times Square in 15 minutes but still be in a quieter part of town.
The staff seemed very disinterested and weren't particularly helpful. The laundry (open from 7am-11pm) only accepts quarters and there is no change machine around, and the staff at the front desk won't change over money either. So if you want to do laundry, you'll need 14 quarters ($1.75 for a wash and the same again for a dry)
clean, simple, cheap, decent location
Wi-Fi has a filter which didn't allow me to access web pages in Polish (my native language).
location price helpful staff gym did not see rats or roaches
dirty, toilet did not flush, cramped, noisy, thin mattress, spread and pillow, sagging bed springs, heat turned off during the day, even though it was 25F outside and windows would not close, no ventilation, blinds inoperable, can't see TV from lower bunk, can't read on lower bunk because it is dark and no bedside light. doors on closers making them slam and rattle the walls, dorm style bathrooms. Not enough fixtures, no place to sit belongings in bathrooms, blankets and towels only available if requested.
Fantastic location and reasonable price for what you get. Just few mins walk from main attractions eg: empire state building and Rockerfella. Clean rooms and facilities.
Bedroom quite small. But fine if you just want a place to sleep. Showers didn't offer too much privacy.
I was asked for my credit card and charged the full amount for the whole stay(3 nights) immediately. The room was extremely small, and I had to put my suitcase on the bad to be able to open it. The thermometer in the room was not working properly so it was either too hot or too cold all the time and it was very loud as well. There were fruit flies coming out of the vents in the shower- and two toilets for the whole floor!!! It became clear to me that my NYC trip would have been ruined if I was to stay in there. I wanted to leave one hour after I checked in, however the stuff members at the reception desk told me that I had to talk to the manager(who had already left) if I wanted to get a refund. I stayed overnight, and I left this place the next morning after a brief conversation with the manager who wasn't even professional enough to ask for the reasons of my disappointment. He only impolitely made a statement that it is not possible for me to get any refund. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!
Rude front desk staff. Natasha promised us a 48 hour no fee cancellation only for her to eat her vomit. Arrogant and unhelpful manager (wearing earrings) He is also boderline racist. Never spending my money there again.
Guests must show room keys to security with every trip back inside the hotel. The bunk beds were VERY comfortable and the bathroom very clean!! I will most certainly stay here again in the future!
I liked the pool and fitness facilities most. The price was much lower than many hotels. The location was appropriate for my purposes: near bus lines going up and down town. The small private room had a TV and small fridge. The shared bathroom and shower were ample; free clean towels, lockers and showers were provided at the fitness center and in the locker rooms .
Room was small as advertised with a twin bed. Only one clothes hanger and pillow was provided so bring your own if you need more.
Love the staff at desk!
Nice, clean, quiet, straightforward, simple.
I didn't think ahead to make use of the gym and the sauna, which would have been even better
Rooms are small, but for the price not a problem
good location, mid of town
extreme small room that u never saw, TV is small and very high,115usd for one night.
The gym was great to use before leaving for my Broadway show. The sauna is just awesome.
I was quickly checked it, got to my room. Clean, clean clean was my room and the bathroom down the hall & I was so happy! I did have a minor medical flare-up while there & everyone was extra helpful to me!
1.wifi does not load the update iphone; 2.the room was a crack in the window;3.Disconnect the battery at night;4.on the street outside the building a house.(room 925).
