Decore is lovely; the roof top bar/restaurant is excellent and good value; all meals in the restaurant were well prepared and service was excellent; location can't be beat; all in all a delightful surprise and we'll definitely come back.
No twin beds available. Limited public areas where one could sit and rest.
Location, staff, restaurant and coffee shop
Room nice but very small
We decided to have a special Christmas Eve/Day in our new city of Charleston. We moved here on James Island in September 2014 and chose the Vendue....Loved the rooftop bar, restaurant and artistic influences. Staff awesome!
Really friendly helpful staff. Location, location, location. Food and service in restaurant topnotch. Fireplace in room was cozy on rainy nights.
Starbucks coffee shop could have been open earlier for when time is short.
Shades should be put on the windows as sleeping in a bright room is impossible! Two of our windows were next to your parking lot and the bright lights went thru the blinds. I had to hang 3 towels over the widows to darken the room!
Couldn't beat the location and the staff was helpful and eager to please. Their roof top bar was a great place to chill and see the sunset. When they upgraded us, they charged an additional $50 a night, just to get us in a passale room. Then, when they took us to our new room, it wasn't made up so they compensated us with $50 for two days at their restaurant or bar. That was nice. Restaurant was good.
First room, was handicapped and not very clean - wth dust bunnies on floor. We switched to another room which had a mold or mildew smell, hairs in the shower, bed extremely uncomfortable Switched again to a nice rennovated room in the main lobby. Much nicer. All of the rooms had horrible soft mattresses. I have been having back problems, and the softness made it worse.
Beautiful room, attentive staff.
Wi-fi was a little slow
The Art exhibitions, delicious food, friendly service providers.
Bedroom was a bit cramped for space. Lack of privacy with room so small and in close proximity to hallway.
Rooftop bar, happy hour, great staff, free bikes, comfortable room, best location!
They treated us like family and anticipated our every need.
Location and amenities
Problem with wifi
I travel extensively and this staff ranks in the top five. They are always smiling, remember your name and are there at your beckoned call. The coffee in the the morning is fresh and the wine in the afternoon is perfect. I will definitely stay here the next time we come to Charleston.
Very nice room, very polite and accommodating personnel rooftop bar, restaurant, and coffee shop. I will visit the Vendue again.
Somewhat Stressful experience at check in.Our accommodations were not ready at the advertised check in time. At check-in, the charges for our accommodations did not match the confirmed charges that I agreed to through Booking.Com. The charges were adjusted to the agreed upon amount.
Our room was lovely. Our room was above the artist's studio and that was fun. The wine and cheese hour was a great touch.
Great room Excellent friendly courteous staff
The bed was awfully high. Difficult for older individuals to get into.
Location, friendliness of staff, restaurant, and beauty.
Dirty carpet on stairs, room a bit small for the money, housekeeping was horrible.
Great location, happy hour, milk and cookies and overall great service.
The screaming child next door.
Location Location Location The building is charming
Very noisy, thin wall. Our room was next to to the hall way. You hear steps, rollings, and traffic throughout the night. For $400 a night, I expect much better. Incosistent hospitality received from staffs The roof top bar is overrated, not a classy place to chill
Price was too high for getting stuck with a basement room where we could hear people walking in the hall and outside our room.
Our upgraded room was not a upgrade and the furniture was filthy furniture only window looked out onto a power grid and trash bins Were moved to another room and given a discount but now had a queen bed and no fireplace room was clean and staff were helpful Did not feel like we were given the room we had booked months earlier
Very outgoing friendly staff
Our room was small cramped and not well maintained
Bell men were nice.
Our room was located at 26 Vendue. The room number was 141 and was located outside the entrance to the hotel. Noise was bad since people were entering the hotel right outside our door, talking loud and dragging luggage.
The bed was really comfortable and the breakfast in the Drawing room was delicious.
The room was really dingy and kind of gross. The furniture was all stained and the walls were dirty. Also the shower only got lukewarm and the water pressure was weak.
Restaurants were fabulous--hats off to the chef/chefs. Close to Market street and other restaurants.
Our room was quite small, but we didn't spend much time there. Parking in near by garage was a bit expensive.
Staff, room, Bar, restaurant and location.
The elevator was way too slow and had to walk down 3 flights of stairs on two occasions. Hotel should have updated the elevator when hotel was refurbished.
