Style of the house!
Paying for the car parking as it is on site
Great break from staying in hotels and the breakfast was great. Staff very friendly and helpful. Would stay again.
Aspects of the room and bathroom are well overdue renewal. When paying over $250 for a night the toilet seat should not be so old that that wood laminate surface is peeling off (and therefore impossible to clean properly). The shower head should not be visibly ancient and partially blocked. The carpet and bed furnishings were also very old. These are things that are not essential to the character of the place and should not be retained when so obviously past their best. High priced hotels appear very greedy when they are not maintaining and replacing things as required.
This is a beautiful old home, very much retaining its original character and features, and set in a lovely well maintained garden.
Shared bathroom, room a bit too dark, breakfast a bit too basic
Location, atmospheric period property
Staff charged us $20 for the bedding for day bed, then never brought the bedding.
Beautiful house! Great location!
Shared bathrooms Late hour of breakfast. Starts at 0800
Not much really, maybe a better breakfast?
Great location, unique, friendly staff
Price is too high. No services at all.
The hoyse is nice well located in venice.
Excellent location but this b&b needs maintenance, especially bathrooms.
I do not wish to have to request food at breakfast. On many days no fruit, no eggs or pots of yoghurt. Some days only few scraps of bread left for toast. Requests met with "Just give me a minute". Food if available then delivered with a tired attitude. We had to request toilet rolls in room. No hot shower for a couple of days despite complaint from other guests. No drinking water available in water cooler for a number of days despite repeated requests. Previous many visits excellent but we will not be returning after this.
some rooms are with "shared" bathrooms--we decided to upgrade for a small fee and have a lovely room which slept 3 and had its own bathroom.
this is historically designated home at venice beach! you are in for a treat--read the history of this residence/b & b. we really felt like we were at our own home--a quick run to the beach, bikes, pier and food! it is tidy and comfortable--continental breakfast in a.m.
Keys didn't work well
Staff and proximity to action
We would have liked to get some information about this when we booked. We felt forced to leave the house before 7am every morning, since every little footstep was heard in the entire house. We were travelling with a 1yr old and a 5yr old. And they were as kids are, resstless and earybirds. The good thing was that we got to se the sunrise at the beach every morning. But we would liked to have felt more welcome.
A lovely little BnB if you travel without kids. Nice breakfast!
Staff were extremely poor in providing any form of service. The house needs some maintenance before it becomes too shabby.
Good location near the beach in a lovely old house with an interesting history.
Great personal experience I will not forget
While the place may be well-suited to some and may be most travelers, this place was not what we were looking for. Finding the place at night was a problem as there are no clear signs and for someone visiting LA for the first time, this can be a hassle. The interior decorations and original fittings are certainly interesting. However, their utility was dubious, particularly considering the malfunctioning toilets and the uncomfortable beds. While I do understand the importance of preserving these aspects of the house for their historical value, as I said above, this place was not what we were looking for.
The house has certainly got its charms with the interior decorations being very adorable. The location too is very convenient if you intend to visit the immediate area.
Staff unhelpful, could not make a phone call for a taxi. Beds very uncomfortable. Could not open outside door. Locks very old and did not feel safe
Breakky was good Cute house
This B and B didn't have the usual assistance you might expect from a B and B or even a normal hotel. When we asked for a good dinner spot, the guy at the front desk just said there are a lot of good places on the boulevard. But gave no specifics nor did he even show us a map or mention the many other interesting spots around town. Breakfast is skimpy and we often found ourselves begging the kitchen staff to give us the standard yogurt parfait with granola if they were all out when we got there.
Location, location, location. Just steps from the beach and Venice pier. The garden is also quite beautiful and relaxing.
Wi-fi was not working at all.
It's quiet and cozy like home. Breakfast is simple but enough. Will come back again.
The walls between rooms are thin and noisy neighbours can be a problem. WiFi is slow and not working in all rooms.
Location and homely feel of this wonderful B&B is probably unparalleled in the Venice area. Staff are very nice, the breakfast is very good and the location is very quiet. The house is historic, overgrown and beautiful.
Over all enjoyed the house and it's old house quirks. If you expect the Ritz you will not be happy. Take it for what it's worth and you will enjoy. Earplugs can help especially on garbage day.
The old school vibe, great old property with all the charm that entails, close to all things Venice. Very quiet considering its so close to touristy stuff, great food and bars within walking distance.
Interior was a little bit like staying at your nans house as it was a little tatty and could have done with up dating.
The house was beautiful and was surrounded by gorgeous gardens and was literally a stones throw from the beach. Staff were helpful and friendly too.
No facility to make your own cuppa tea /coffee any time. locks a bit temperamental.
Friendly helpful staff. Handy location. Bed so comfortable.
Beautiful House with Nice rooms and stunning garden, very good breakfast, perfect located
