Breakfast staff was not cheerful...
Location, food, service, spa and did I mention location!
Total pampering. Thank you, Staff!
the food is exeptionally good, the view is breathtaking, the outdoor heated jacuzzi is great fun, the walk in the woods and everything else is just as perfect
Towels could be a little newer and fuzzier, hard to see in the closet - lighting configuration
Great breakfast, wine/cheese in the afternoons, Bluetooth streaming my iPad music in the room, super-friendly staff, killer views
Our room was dated. In older section. Also hot tub was too soft. The jets system was very mild. Just felt like a warm bath not a jacuzxi
Breakfast was great. Loved the hike to the restaurant. Shuttle provided to several locations near the hotel. Grounds were amazing. Trail on property was decent enough for daily morning hike. Staff was superb.
Restaurant was not that great for dinner Breakfast restaurant staff was terrible. TERRIBLE Spa was just ok. The place is way too expensive for just an Ok Spa. The ambiance could have been better and the massage as well.
Bell and Shuttle service was fantastic. Wine and Cheese service daily was amazing! Wine upon arrival! Ambiance in room was lovely Continental Breakfast food was the best ever!
Restaurant not as good as I expected
Lovely relaxing place to stay
Every moment was pure luxury. The staff couldn't have been more accommodating.
Wifi wasn't working that great.
Beautiful grounds, great facilities. Just perfect place to relax. Enjoyed the wine&cheese every afternoon.
Peaceful , quiet, restful and great views.
Being in a natural setting with all the comforts one needed.
The location and the architectural beauty of the structural and interior as well as the garden and surrounding beauty!
Basically everything!! Loved the walks through property, lovely spots to stop and sit under a canopy of trees. Great massage therapists, lovely library/yoga room with fireplace. Fire pits, sunsets, awesome 1 hour hike to summit with amazing views. Brilliant breakfast buffet!! Loved it and look forward to staying again and again.
Bed was a bit too firm.
Large room, Wi-Fi, large tub, view, balcony with hammock, hot tub, fireplace.
If I were to go again, I would consider upgrading to a more private room. Ours was on top of the lobby, and we could hear our next-door neighbors getting frisky at all hours of the night. While we completely understand that the romantic setting of the hotel would put people in the mood, it was disappointing to not get a full night of sleep after paying that much for our stay because of thin walls.
Beautiful grounds and amazing view of the ocean. The staff was extremely helpful, but not in your face and you felt like you had a lot of privacy because they were not hanging around the grounds. I loved the check-in with the wine, and the activities pamphlet provided helpful tips on nearby hikes. The restaurant had a perfect view of the ocean and it was nice to post up next to the fire-pit with a glass of wine to watch the whales migrate down to Mexico at sunset. Our room had a nice deck with a view of the ocean, perfect for coffee in the morning. The Japanese hotspas were super relaxing, and while we did not have time to use the fitness center or the heated pool, they looked great and we will definitely take advantage next time.
The tub was wonderful. Beautiful view of the surrounding hills. Wonderful cuisines. Breathtaking view from the terrace outside the restaurant. Staff was well-trained and exceedingly professional. Will go back again!
Courteous and up beat staff with a good knowledge of how to keep a place unspoiled and quiet in this rushabout whirled(sic)
NOthing really.. great place to come back.. a little expensive but the location is unique..
The location, the rooms, the restaurant terrace, the respect of the environment, the quality of the staff.
The setting is truly magnificent. Big Sur is unmatched. The resort was beautiful, quiet, restful and serene. The grounds are impeccably kept. The walk from my room to the restaurant was a gorgeous 10 minute walk through the woods, on a beautiful trail. I saw 5 deer in that 10 minutes. There are lots of quiet, secluded places to sit and look out over the area. Love, love, love it. Can't wait to return.
The in room service is not efficient enough for this kind of great place. It needs to be improved.
The only thing I regret is not being allowed to bring my kids there...
We loved everything, especially the friendly staff and beautiful surrounding but above all loved the new friends we made at wine and cheese hour.
Although all features of the Ventana Inn & Spa were wonderful, the $700 per night cost was a bit high. I don't think it was worth that kind of money. I know that most of my friends and acquaintances could never afford it and because of the high fee, it will probably be a long time before I am able to stay at the Ventana Inn again.
The room and the location were beautiful. I liked that the guests could be shuttled from their room to the Ventana Restaurant and other restaurants in the area. The staff was very helpful and polite.
Not cheap, but worth it.
Being made to feel special. Being able to totally relax. Perfect setting and incredible location.
I didn't know how to work the jacuzzi tub controls and no info.
Our room, the included breakfast, the staff, the quiet location in the hills.
The Inn is resting on its laurels. We went because we had Ben 22 years earlier. The service was cursory for the price and whilst all guests are seeking tranquility, the staff appear to adopt an equally laid-back approach.. .... "You can't park there you'll have to move it"... "Sorry the Pinot is finished".... Get real dinner B&B is 1500 bucks a night. I am afraid we have stayed in many boutique lodges that exude comfort and grace but which provide much better attention to client needs.
The location and the mystique of Big Sur.......
