Location, location, location! Value for your money! Great bed! Good bathroom!
Nothing really. There are not lot of extras (ie: work out room; excessive staff) but the location cannot be beat, especially for the money. We would have returned except it is closing
The attitude of the hostess on arrival was a discrase
Location is fantastic, my favorite spot in the city. A few short blocks to either Mad Sq Park or Union Sq. Easy to walk to the Village, Chelsea, Midtown, East Village. Subways all around. A young area, so some of the restaurants are bustling. The Barn Joo restaurant connected has some interesting Korean fusion food. Again, lots of beautiful young people and very crowded, but so what. The hotel has a Euro feel to it. Our room on the fourth floor overlooked Broadway, with very high windows; with the drapes open was light and wonderful.
Is a full sized ironing board too much to ask? The table top unit I was given simply did not work with the layout of the room. I finally came to a workable solution by using the ottoman and a chair, but it took more concentration than necessary. No coffee makers in the room; the free coffee in the lobby was adequate, but I had to fill three little paper cups at a time to satisfy. If you don't get a room overlooking either Broadway or 19th you may feel a bit shut-in. Trains run under Broadway, so you'll hear it. Not too bad on the fourth floor; not sure about lower levels.
Staff was very friendly, very modern appearance, extremely comfortable
Location and very friendly staff considering they just found out the place was closing and they would be unemployed soon.
Very nice destination
Location was great. Wonderful staff. Very modern feel. Bed was comfy, room had a skylight. Best blow dryer in a hotel ever! Loved that Barn Joo was right next door for dining.
Water pressure was terrible. Only a shower, no tub. Would have liked directions by the thermostat. Limited tv channels.
The spacious & modern bathroom. The location is excellent. The staff is courteous.
Room a bit small
Value was excellent. Wouldn't hesitate to stay again
Front staff helpful but only once we engaged them in conversation
The location, the room cleanliness the friendly an helpful staff. I requested a room with wooden floors because of my allergies and that is what I got. Staff are very happy to help.
Some of the rooms toiletries were removed during cleaning and not replaced, so I had to phone down and ask for more. There are no tea making facilities in the room, but complementary tea, coffee etc is available in the lobby - it's just a little inconvenient that's all - but I really didn't mind because the hotel is excellent value.
The staff was really nice.
The Bed was uncomfortable.
Hotel is not too old looking and not too far from the photo presented on the websites.
The ipod dock is not usable and it shouldn't be advertised at all. The hotel don't provide coffee/tea making facilities or even bottles of water. It is not convenience. They don't replenish toiletries and I always have to call for room service to ask. The area where the cupboard and the door is too dark, no lights and couldn't see the wardrobe. A bit small for 1 Queen room. One of the bathroom lights are not working and called for service for 2 days despite I only stayed for 4 nights.
Good location for out visit. Very friendly & helpful staff. Clean room.
Tiny bathroom shelf. Weird lights/key system. Get 2 door keys or you can't go out to get coffee without leaving your partner in the dark.
loved the location loved the staff the room was spacious and very comfortable I would stay there again but request a room in the back
in NYC the trash gets picked up every night. I stayed in a room in the front of the hotel. Every night I was woken up by the garbage collectors dropping the dumpsters on the sidewalk against the building across the street. It was extremely loud.
We stayed in the 2 queen bed room #202, which is facing the 19th St., but it was very quiet. I liked the lean linens and towels. The room is a long narrow rectangle, but the bathroom is specious.
Hot coffee and tea were available at the lobby. However, they do not have any decaffe coffee and herbal tea. The entrance to the hotel and robby are dark and little tired look. There are only chair and a stool. Need to have more sitting room.
Hotel Verite is newly renovated. Bed was the best feature. They also offered a discount at their restaurant. Friendly staff. It is located so well to everything you need in NYC. Close to the subway, shopping and easy access to restaurants. Bang on!
wifi was a bit slow, but eventually came thru.
Location, size of room, decor of hotel and room
Had no temperature control and was VERY hot. Mentioned to staff who were very courteous and concerned but unfortunately could do nothing about it. The thermostat was controlled or at discretion of owner.
Great location in the City and the family suite was very roomy for the price.
The Korean nightclub downstairs is very noisy some nights and the subway line runs right under the hotel.
The location is close to Union Square Station, 5th ave and short can ride to Penn station. My room had lots of windows but minimal street noise. No breakfast. They have a restaurant with bar, lunch and dinner. Going to stay again.
No fridge in my room.
Excellent central position. Some reviewers mentioned noise from the Subway - all I can say is they must be listening very hard!
Lack of tea & coffee facilities in room, but there was always plenty available in the lobby
bed was comfortable
staff could not say good morning or good nite greedy management, disallowing for any change in reservation not enough soap or towels, we had to buy our own shampoo smell in elavator, room floor
Perfect location, close to subway, restaurants, shops, and away from hustle and bustle of Times Square, and less expensive area. Safe. Only a couple of stops from main attractions.
It had everything we needed for what we were there for. Nothing missing or didn't like.
Location, location, location. Staff was VERY accommodating with early arrival and storing bags on departure.
Could not control temp in room - went from 63-79! Queen mattress on king frame - hit shins and tripped on frame. Room had two beds NO EXTRA ROOM. get room with one bed.
The location was great. 2 blocks from Union Square and main subway stops. Fun Christmas market in square. We asked for a quiet room and it was very quiet. The bathroom and shower were large and although the room was small there was room to put my large open suitcase on the floor.
The room was small (which we expected) but the bed was on a wooden platform that extended beyond the mattress - major shin bruiser! The sink was small with a small shelf above it - no place to put makeup bag, etc. Being from Texas we like our ice and there was no access to ice.
The hotel staff were very thoughtful and helpful.
