Within Chelsea, Greenwich Village, Soho, Union Square, Flat iron, new Highline Park, Chelsea Market, etc! Loved the bar resto Barn Joo attached to the hotel and their $1 oysters (plus the 20% discount if you stay at the hotel). Comfortable room, very clean. Shuttle car service (door-to-door) from hotel to Airport (LGA). Staff went above and beyond!! We really enjoyed our stay here. Would definitely stay here again.
Nothing liked everything!
The Verite was located near great restaurants and shopping. The employees were always very friendly and helpful. The rooms and hotel were extremely clean and welcoming.
The room was oddly shaped and you could just make it by the corner of the bed without hitting the wall. At two in the morning you always hit the wall. The wall was also patched but just screwed in and not painted or covered. It looked tacky. For the amount of money charged this should have been fixed.
Location Shower Ease of Check-in and Check-out
AC did not work- they had a fan in the room No windows- that was odd Really strange light system
Room was spacious. Bathroom clean.
Sounded like we were on top of the subway. Carpet a little dirty . Not my style of decor.
Staffs are very friendly Rooms are clean
- WiFi was perfect - Price-quality ratio was perfect for NY - Staff was perfect - Service was perfect - Would certainly go back
Friendly staff and excellent location
We were firstly given a room on the third floor, initial impressions were that the room was very grubby and very dated not at all as advertised on the website we were disappointed but prepared to just deal with it, they were was no iPod Dock in the room, half the lights didn't work and we tried to plug in a floor lamp and the socket wouldn't fit in the wall, the noise from the subway in this room was really loud, it was like sleeping on the street right above the track we couldn't believe how loud it was, we had been aware of this from other reviews and I had asked for a room above the third floor to try and keep the noise to a minimum We asked to change rooms and this was accommodated the next day, the room on the 4th floor was like being in a different hotel, this room had a skylight and no window which we didn't mind at all, there was virtually no noise at all from the subway in this room We were disappointed with the hotel as we thought for the price paid the standards would be slightly higher, they need to update the rooms, the carpets in both rooms we stayed in were very old and dirty, a bit more effort would make this a great place to stay
The location is good
Nothing in particular
Air Conditioning not adjustable and room was far too hot. Room looked a bit shabby
We had a room without a window
Wonderful location, excellent comfort, luggage storage, one member of staff was very helpful at check in and check out.
The wifi was very patchy, never worked in our room, second member of staff who checked us in didn't tell us there was a bar or restaurant or offer a map or wifi password, no tea or coffee in room.
The air conditioner was either on full blast or off- no controls Concerned this would be the same for heat controls other times if the year
Good Location and friendly staff.
Absence of tea/ coffee facility in the room.
The neighborhood/area was perfect!!!
Located in a great area. Beds are comfortable.
Very poor wi fi if you need to work. The way the electrical is set up is inefficient. Not enough outlets, poorly placed Staff was hit and miss on helpfulness. Won't go back
no coffee maker
This place was very cool. Very hi tech and super clean. My 4 th floor room even had a skylight! The staff was very helpful showing me all the buttons in the room as it was very different. The mattress was on the memory foam side with no box spring. I thought it was going to be uncomfortable but it was not. Seemed like there were plenty of outlets in the room to charge phones etc. they had complimentary bottled water in the room. The bathroom was very lush with new stone walls and crystal clear shower stalls.
Location/proximity to Union Square, cleanliness, friendly staff, soft comfortable bed, price/rate of room
Thin walls and doors...I could hear creaking of footsteps outside in the hallway, and noise next to my room.
The staff was very helpful with car arrangements & directions. Need to have small refrig fr rental for people who are diabetics traveling with insulin & other meds that need refrig or special dietary needs , also a small coffee pot in rm would have been so much better then having to go to the lobby every time u wanted a cup
The view from my window! A fire escape ugh
The rooms were clean and comfortable. Everything seemed pretty new.
My husband plugged his breathing machine into the outlet on his side of the bed but woke during the middle of the night to discover the outlet had stopped working. We had to move everything to the other side so he could get power. It was a bit disconcerting. Didn't care for the fact that there were no windows in the room.
-free bottled water -good location (easy access to subway at Union Square) -clean rooms with private bathroom -spacious room (compared to most NYC hotel rooms I've stayed in) -luggage storage service -friendly staff
-the fact that without the deal I got, the room would have been $350 per night
The hotel manager BJ was very helpful at giving us directions and navigating our way through the subway system and the staff was friendly and accomadating. The hotel was a great value and very comfortable. Bed was extremely comfortable. I will recommend.
Very quiet, staff was very friendly and helpful, room was really large (they upgraded us to family suite which had a separate second bedroom) and very nicely decorated. Clean. Really nice little boutique hotel.
Although when we booked, the website said "views of NYC", we actually looked out at a brick wall (however, this could be because they changed our room--and actually the bigger room was worth giving up the view) Also, a little thing, hated the sink in the bathroom. It was impossible to wash your face or anything without splashing all over the place.
clean, comfortable and quiet. Large for NYC standards
the bed frame sticks out from under the bed. Bumped my shins a couple of times.
