Hotel Vertigo San Francisco    

The design of the hotel was fantastic. I loved the orange! Front desk staff were all great and helpful too

The room servicing could have been a little better. First day our trash wasnt taken and new towels put in and old ones left a swell and the next day we had no towels left at all! Ok though :0)

Large room beautifully decorated. Loved the "Vertigo" theme. Great City street view. Walking distance to Union Square and China Town but quiet neighborhood. Helpful, friendly staff.

No air conditioning (it was a warm weekend).

Very clean, friendly staff. Unique decor. Close to food, shopping and downtown sites. Would absolutely stay here again.

The hotel was clean and comfortable. The staff was very accomodating and helpful.

I liked the location which was central to everywhere with a public- transport commuter ticket. The decor was hip and I liked the cultural aspect of it all being based on Hitchcock's film Vertigo (the colour scheme is based on an original poster). It made value for money for me only because I availed of the non-refundable special offer. Everything was ergonomic and comfortable except for the pillows.

The pillows. Everything else was perfect comfortable. The four pillows on the double-bed were all the same size and consistancy - conveying the impression their main function was aesthetic. If your neck doesn't suit one of the pillows - there is no alternative as there is in most hotels. I made do by stuffing a dressing-gown into a pillow-case.

The whole hotel was quite rundown and needed a complete facelift, walls needed to be re-painted, the tub was chipping, and sheets were very scratchy, the rug also looked beat up as well - this might as well been a Super 8 Motel - website made it look a lot cleaner than it was - also, why no ac??? And no screens on the windows?? I will never stay here again which is a shame b/c I have to travel to sf often from la

I requested a roll away extra bed and was assured by email befoe hand that this would be possible but on arrival there were none available. This was very disappointing I felt I had been misinformed and would rather the hotel was honest with me at the time of making the booking.

The staff were excellent, very friendly and helpful.

I liked the location and the easy access to shops and restaurants. The room I had (over the courtyard at the back) was very quiet and comfortable. The staff were courteous, and the free WiFi was very useful for looking up bus times etc.

Loved the style & vibe of the place.

Sounds issues. We heard people talking and even snoring in the next room.

Very bad isolation - terribly noisy. We wouldn't recommend this hotel.

We were very happy with the Vertigo. I appreciated the modern styling, the spectacular view from our room on the 8th floor, the perfect crisp linen, the helpful front desk staff, the proximity to lots of restaurants and especially the the shop next door with its early morning coffee/late night gelato. For those looking for the link to the Hitchcock movie check out the mirrored artwork in each room that duplicates the film's title artwork and before you leave carefully peek over the edge of the 8th floor railing to get a glimpse of what Jimmy Stewart saw in the church bell tower! This is the hotel in the scene where he finds Kim Novak living as the other girl from Kansas!

Nice hotel, nice location next to the Union Square. Huge room with nice design. Will definitely come back again. Quiet at night.

Took me a long time to think about something negative: the toilet paper was only one layer thick. If you can live with that, you will like it.

Quite all right place. Only couple buses drive by so you have to walk center to get somewhere.

The woman in reception had a bad day. She was really rude and didnt understand that "write initials" was hard to me understand. In my country we dont have to write initials. This left us a bad feeling and we had a change to change place after two night and we did. Now in other hotel where people are friendly.

Beds were amazing, rooms very well appointed, great hotel.

Sam was outstanding, best of your staff members, very helpful, friendly and would go out of his way to help. Other staff were not as friendly.
