I loved everything about Vertigo Hotel, especially the bright orange and white decor- and the stairs a la the movie Vertigo (which was filmed at the hotel!) was something to see! The staff was very pleasant, helpful and I loved the cozy location/neighborhood of Vertigo. I def would love the visit again.
Convenient location and accommodating staff.
Thin walls - can hear doors banging, people in corridors and cleaners hoovering early in the morning. Only one lift which is slow. A little run down Terrible leaking iron.
Very comfy bed Good size room. Looks like picture Pleasant helpful staff Clean Very close to union square
The room was great as was the location and staff. Lot's of cafes nearby and close enough to the cable cars and Union Square (we did not have/want a car). We were there for a three day weekend and it was a great home base to explore the region.
Wifi was rather slow and the furniture was a bit tired but nothing major.
Lovely, friendly, helpful staff. Good location, easy to walk to many attractions. The area is friendly enough but a couple of people advised me not to hang around at night. Very reasonably priced.
Tough to street park, so you'll walk with a $35+ valet charge...it's the cost of being in SF, but keep it in mind...
Location was quiet and there was great food on the same block, as well as a few blocks over. Easy access into downtown to get to great coffee and the SF sights
Wifi was a bit slow
Nice staff. We arrives 2 hours before check-in time and the room was ready for us. Location was great. Walking distance from downtown
Upon arrival after a long flight we didn't think the receptionist Christina was the friendliest person around and she wasn't very helpful throughout our stay but all the other guys, Greg for sure, were great.
Location, comfort, good wifi, great shower
No tea making facilities, the minibar food was old and dusty , was just a bit shabby overall
bathroom did not close. a.c. did not work, fan only, .
modern look throughout,. Squeaky bed but comfortable otherwise
No air conditioning
Theme; location; services; decor
* No Air conditioning * No Laundry * Wi-Fi unavailable in our room had to go down to foyer to use internet
* Closeness to center of city * Friendly staff
One of the staff turned out to be a great singer
Walls between rooms allows noise
No Vertigo...Expected to watch the Hitchcock's masterpiece in my room, but I couldn't. If this hotel name came from the movie, they should put it on the air for their guests.
If you like the movie you love this hotel too. Great locations; can walk from Union Sq., good restraunts for breakfast and lunch, and cheaper public garage nearby. Classic but clean room.
the carpet has a mildew odor
nice location .like the decoration superb quality service
I expected a roof top pool as this was displayed on the website but when we got there we were disappointed to discover they don't actually have one.
The staff very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable.Hotel room was very clean and had a great fan to cool the room at night, there was 4 of us in one room. The business hub, use of PC and Printer, was invaluable for us as I had flights to book for LA. Location was short walk from Union Square, Chinatown,Macys for the hop on bus tours and cable car. Vertigo was a good base, central to the places we wanted to be.
initial welcome very good. easy to find. convenient location
It is an older building so could hear our upstairs neighbors walking around one morning, but weren't bothered by noises on the other two days (perhaps the noisy neighbors were especially heavy footed?)
Second time staying at Hotel Vertigo - love the comfy beds, rainhead shower, free wifi, and fun modern decor. Well situated within walking distance to Union Square, Chinatown, and plenty of great restaurants and coffee shops (Sweet Woodruff, Olea, MyMy)
Toilets back up and don't always flush Very dark rooms with no natural light or ventilation Toilet paper extremely rough Very few TV channels Wifi unreliable
Helpful front desk service
Be careful of extra taxes - this added another $50 a night! You wouldn't be allowed this false advertising of price in Australia!!
Quirky decor, friendly staff, clean and spacious rooms. Would definitely stay here again.
My rental car was broken into across the street. No one recommended that we park in a garage. When we approached the gentleman behind the text he just looked annoyed that he had to give us the information to the police department. We were hassled for late check out by another gentleman and told " we don't advise people to park across the street". I am a first time visitor to San Francisco-- I had no idea! When said "can we park are car across the street--someone should have said no this is a horrible area instead of " yes, but get it before 6am when street cleaning comes. Total nightmare!
Bathroom wa nice
