My room was clean, big enough, everything looks new. They even provide bathrobes, that I never saw in 3*** hotels. The breakfast is basic, but good. The subway is very close and location looks very safe. There are two small complaints. The first is about noisiness. My room was on the the first (ground) floor, my windows were located to the street and during the night I heard everything. Fortunately, it was relatively quiet street. Secondly, the subway station indicated as the closest one (39th street at n or q lines) does not have elevators, so If one would carry heavy luggage it might be a problem. However, the solution is relatively easy. Take e line (especially if you move from jfk) to the Queens Plaza. The way to the hotel from this station is around 5-7 min on feet.

Tom (the owner/manager) and his staff are so friendly and were really helpful with great advise on what to do in NYC. We were welcomed very warmly and friendly as of day 1 and the receptionists always helped with every question we had. Also the breakfast is great - it was good quality and varied, so we were not bored when we stayed 6 nights. There are 3 different hot food dishes, which vary everyday: scrambled eggs, omelet, turkey burger, veggie burger, turkey sausage or turkey bacon... I liked that there was this leaner choice of meat. And then there is oatmeal, cereal, fruit, juice, milk, coffee/tea/hot chocolate, toast, bagels, muffins, other sweet pastry and another type of bread. Butter/Peanut Butter/Strawberry Jam and Grape Jelly. There was cheese, too. Our highlight was the fresh waffles with syrup that you can bake yourself everyday (they provide fresh doe and waffle baking machines). The only little thing that I didn't love (but it seems to be typical in the US) is that they used plastic dishes and cutlery - not very nature friendly. Finally, the location is grand! There are 3 metro lines nearby, all within 5-7 minutes walking distance. It only takes 2 stations to Central park, roughly 15 minutes to most attractions and a maximum of 30 minutes to the very south tip of Manhattan (to go to the statue of liberty). Even though some (not all) houses nearby the hotel are ugly, we never felt unsafe when walking home in the evening (there wasn't actually anyone on the streets). The hotel itself looks nice and clean. All in all, we would recommend this hotel to family and friends.

The hotel is really good. The room is big, clean and comfortable. breakfast is very good. There is coffee & tea facilities free in the room and in the loby. The hotel is located near a subway station. Perhaps to keep breakfast a little longer then 09:30 AM.

Nice attitude and service from hotel staff, including the central location of the hotel to reach Manhattan and other places in New York via subway network. The hotel neighborhoud is very noisy due all kind of construction works in the area.

Great customer service from all staff, great location to Manhatten and subway. We felt safe in neighbourhood, room was great size for family. Great laundry facility if you are staying a few days. Would recommend. Hotel needs access to airport shuttles, however it is only a small gripe.

The hotel provided what it offered - convenience to JFK and La Guardia as well as downtown, with good transport links. The standard of service and level of comfort was what should be expected of a budget hotel. The establishment was very clean. The staff were very helpful and I would definitely recommend the hotel to others.

The Verve's best asset is its staff. They are very friendly and always ready to offer help and advice. The rooms are modern, clean and comfortable and for an extended stay like ours (we were there for 6 nights) the free laundry facilities came in very handy too. The breakfasts were good and the free coffee and water very welcome. Do not let the fact that this hotel is in Queens put you off. You are within easy walk of 3 subway stations and you can be in Manhattan in a matter of minutes. Even at 1 am I felt safe walking back from the station to the hotel. Nothing. It was the best hotel we stayed in during our trip.

The rooms are big and spacious, tv, fridge included, even coffee maker; the staff is very friendly and helpful; breakfast is really nice, with a lot of options. Location is good, 5mins walk to the nearest metro stations (queens plaza or 39th) or if you are up for a longer walk, just for the fun of it it took us about half an hour over queensboro bridge to get to central park and 5th avenue

Staff were really helpful and Tom has a really good team on board. We stayed for 6 nights and there was enough selection at breakfast to help vary it each day. The location is good enough to get into Manahttan in about 10/15 mins by Subway.

Perfectly located close to various metro stops, is in a safe area in Queens, but gives the chance to reach Manhattan in a few minutes. Staff kind and professional. Room always cleaned. Ask them to give you a room looking at Manhattan with a good view(we were 404 was excellent). The "waffle machine" for breakfast. Maybe people loving "sweet" at breakfast can't find big choice, and sometimes the wi-fi is very slow and force you to register at every connection.

You can find a good variety of foods during breakfast. Rooms have got heating, air conditioning, a lot of space, everything to iron too, flat tv, ... The toilette broke once but the receptionist sent us a technician to resolve it in 2 minutes. It is not located in Manhattan but it is very close to first subway station outside Manhattan in Queens with a lot of subway's lines.

The hotel seemed to be very new and clean. It was more spacious than most hotels in the nyc area. The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. They immediately recognized you, remembered things about you and were incredibly willing to go out of there way to make your trip special. Even the complimentary breakfast was nice. Usually those things can be a filthy chaotic mess. Their serving staff was friendly and right on top of everything - even straightening chairs and tables. I would definitely recommend this place to friends.

The Verve is as it says on the packet we read all the reviews and I can confirm that it is a very pleasant hotel that we would definitely use again the staff where excellent a special mention to yash, marc and Yahaira on the front desk excellent in every way always nice to see smiling faces and helpful with information and subway directions which are very easy and cheap.Meals can be got at many resturants 4 blocks away 10min walk,Chinese, Thia ,American and Greek several cafes close by for fried things and other bits. The subway is so easy and easy to get back to jfk via the Airtrain .The only thing was the plastic plates at breakfast but that aside a great time.Would tell my friends to stay here. The plastic at breakfast you can ask for silverware but the plate will still be plastic but for the price always one thing.

Great hotel. First of all - convenient location. 5 min walking from Queens Plaza subway station (E, R & M lines). So it's about 15 min subway ride to the Midtown Manhattan. Quiet neighborhood. Friendly staff. Decent buffet in the morning. All day long access to microwave oven and choice of complimentary hot drinks. Wired internet (with printer) in the lobby and good WiFi speed in the room. Room was spacious and clean. I was able to open the window for the fresh air in the room (many big hotels provide you with window that won't open - it's suffocating and hard to deal with). And all of this for the fair price. I will definitely stay there again. As usual in the US hotels that I've been to: noisy fan used as air heater/conditioner and no upper lighting in the room (only floor lamps and reading lamps).

What we liked most about the Verve Hotel was its location. It is literally a two minute walk down the street to the Queens Plaza Subway Station. From there, it is only a 5-10 minute ride into Manhattan. The price of the hotel was also great. Much more economical than staying in Manhattan. The only thing that we did not like was that the rooms don't have proper curtains. There is a thin white semi-see through curtain covering the window which does nothing to keep the early morning sun out. So if you plan to sleep past 6am, bring an eye mask. Also, if you are a light sleeper, you may be disturbed by the noise from the nearby subway station.
