The hotel staff were excellent in all of their interactions with guests! The manager, in particular, went out of his way to help and advise, ensuring that each & every guest was given the best service possible! The hotel itself was very clean, comfortable & was well located for getting into the centre of New York city via an impressive choice of subway stations within easy walking distance. The rooms were light & airy with good facilities, ours in particular having impressive views of the Manhattan skyline! The complimentary breakfast was superb and readily available each morning until 09.30, with items being constantly replenished by the hard-working breakfast staff. Complimentary hot drinks were also available at all times of the day or night! This has to rate as one of the best value hotels we have ever stayed in via booking.com & would recommend it to anyone without reservation! We cannot fault this hotel!

My room was clean, big enough, everything looks new. They even provide bathrobes, that I never saw in 3*** hotels. The breakfast is basic, but good. The subway is very close and location looks very safe. There are two small complaints. The first is about noisiness. My room was on the the first (ground) floor, my windows were located to the street and during the night I heard everything. Fortunately, it was relatively quiet street. Secondly, the subway station indicated as the closest one (39th street at n or q lines) does not have elevators, so If one would carry heavy luggage it might be a problem. However, the solution is relatively easy. Take e line (especially if you move from jfk) to the Queens Plaza. The way to the hotel from this station is around 5-7 min on feet.

The hotel is an excellent choice if you plan a budget trip to new york. Tom and the staff are doing their best to keep everyone happy. The rooms are spacious and clean, breakfast is O.k, the area is safe and developing ,subway is only 2 min walk and there are a few delis ,coffee places and restaurants in close range for the basic needs, dont expect much though. As a conclusion the hotel is more than definitely recommended. One thing they should notice is the ice machine outside room 311 which is a bit noisy during the night

Our second time here, and it did not disappoint. The room was clean and quiet. The location is superb, just a few stops from Times Square, yet far enough to be significantly less expensive. The breakfast was good. There will be a third stay for sure! A couple of small complaints but not deal breakers. The bed does not have a fitted sheet, so if you move around a bit the sheet will come off and start to bunch up. Makes sleeping a bit uncomfortable. The hotel needs to invest in a restaurant. There are some delivery places nearby, but they get old rather quickly.

Good price/quality ! This hotel is located in queens just 3 stops with the metro to Times Square. You can use 3 metro stations which are near. The nearest is 2 minutes walk. This hotel is in a upcoming area which shows in some bad buildings next to new buildings.

Nice bed, clean room; secure parking. 1. $100 "security deposit"; 2. $25 charge for hotel guests to park; 3. Limited hot water in shower! I would only recommend this as a hotel of acceptable LAST resort because of these extra "surprise" charges, (#1 & 2 above), which are NOT typical of comparable hotels in the region. My wife had an interesting observation/tactile experience: the bathroom tile was incredibly COLD, despite cranking heat! Strange.

The "King suite" is large and well equipped, with attention paid to detail. The hotel is well appointed and the maintenance and housekeeping are excellent. A machine dispenses free coffee, cappicino, tea, hot chocolate etc 24 hours a day while ice and cold filtered water are also available. Plastic plates, bowls, cups, knives, forks etc for uses at the mediocre buffet breakfast. The local area is "declining industrial" and somewhat depressing. The hotel could not provide a map of the area, suggesting I look on the Internet.

What I liked best about this hotel is the fact that it is so close to Manhattan! One stop away from Manhattan and only a short walk from the subway stop to the hotel. The breakfast in the morning was also very handy, because it fueled us up for the day. It also had a washer and dryer for its guests which was especially great for us as we were on a two week long vacation. The staff, in particular the front desk reception and Tom, the general manager were very friendly and were always greeting you with a warm smile. Only two things that weren't great - how loud it gets (because of its proximity to the subway station) at night that sometimes it's unbearable...and the lack of communication between the people who work at the front desk (who were absolutely amazing) and the managers (aside from Tom, who was amazing as well). We had a problem with our booking and ended up having to stay cooped up in our hotel room until 4:30pm when the manager finally showed up to work on a normal weekday. The front desk had known since 9:30am that morning that we needed to speak to a manager to resolve a large problem as quickly as possible, but did not have the tools to contact the manager. No phone number of the manager. Really? The front desk staff were friendly but lacked communication with the higher level managers. Huge problem.

We were very happy with the location of The Verve Hotel. It was close to Metro and such a short trip into the centre of Manhatten. The room was wonderful as we had the bedroom and a sitting room which made our stay very comfortable. Breakfast was good. Staff, particularly Tom were friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay again!!!! Thanks :)

*Nice hot breakfast instead of the usual bagels, muffins and juice. *Front desk person saw that I was probably tired from carrying luggage and without asking, immediately brought ice cold water. *No extra charge or hassel about using the internet and the printer. Lonely ndustrial/auto parts surrounding area is sort of unnerving when walking to the hotel at night

We were very pleased with the hotel. I gave Fair for comfort only because of the traffic noise. We found NY very expensive but comparing other hotel we stayed (Roslyn, Long Island) we would recommend this hotel as quite close to a Value For Money hotel. Three things 1. Nothing 2. Nothing 3. Price. 10 USD per night cheaper and I would call it Very Good Value for Money.

The Room The room was very comfortable, a person staying would not now this by looking at the name on the building or location. I think it's in the prefect spot for future use as manhattan gets over booked and it only 15 minutes from the city. Going accorss the 59th street bridge you can see it, but people who did not stay there would not know what kind of place it is or even if it's a hotel. Seeing the comfort Inn and other hotel names, your would be in the blur to chain industry. The area will get better with time and i'm sure the name of your hotel will grow with the area.

I recommend this hotel very highly. The cleanliness is impressive, we had a massive room complete with king size bed, fridge and jacuzzi, which I would encourage you to try. Breakfast was fabulous, a great selection of cereal, fruit, waffles, toast, bagels, hot sausage and eggs. They even have coffee machine, water dispenser and microwave that you can use 24x7. The welcome we received was fantastic, just what you need after a long journey. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble, which is just as well given the amount of questions we had for them. They even kept our luggage for a few hours so that we could explore ny whilst waiting for an evening flight. The location of the hotel is ideal, close to 3 different metro stations, which enable swift access to central ny, as well as easy access from jfk or La Guardia airports. The area is safe, we strolled around at night and sampled a variety of cuisines a 10 min walk from the hotel on 36th Ave, which includes a mini supermarket which has everything you could need. A special thanks to Tom for being a fountain of knowledge, guiding us around ny and sending us to great tourist places.
