Breakfast was not interesting
Close to train and cleanliness
The credit card auth form was missing and even though I had a copy, it did not work so I had to call my boss to have it resolved. There were cobwebs in the bathroom and the curtains were black from the soot off of the heater/ac.
The bed and pillows were comfy.
I will never stay at this facility again for three reasons. First, our room was not well maintained. One of the walls in our room had clearly suffered water infiltration that not addressed properly. The bottom portion of the entire length of the wall had water stains on the buckling wallpaper, clearly demarcating how high the water had risen. Every time I looked at the wall (of which I intentionally tried to ignore) I couldn't help but think about the level of mold, spores and bacteria I was inhaling over the weekend. For someone who suffers from environmental allergies it's your worse nightmare. Ordinarily I would have asked to get switched to another room however I was distracted with what I spent a good deal of my vacation addressing and that was the hidden charges. When we checked in we were told the price and that an additional $100 deposit would be deducted and returned if the room was in "good" condition when we left. No problem. What we weren't told was since we used a debit card the Hotel would deduct an additional "deposit to secure the deposit" totaling $200 above and beyond the charge of the room. When we saw the second charge we assumed some error had occurred that would quickly be resolved with a trip to the front desk. That's when things went from bad to worse. Staff lied and told us it was our bank's policy and nothing could be done on their end. Of course we contacted our bank who informed us it was the exact opposite and indeed the Hotel had assessed the additional fee. We spent a considerable amount of our weekend get-away going back and forth with staff who increasingly became rude, arrogant and finally unresponsive. Finally, the third reason I will not return to this hotel is because the breakfast was beyond bare bones and just flat out nasty. It had few choices for those with food allergies.
They charge for parking.
Breakfast was ok, nothing special, pretty basic, perhaps could do better with better and more variety.
The room was big, clean and comfortable. Very well located for transport connecting Manhattan and Queens, very close to subway. Cosy room and cosy bed, friendly staff, value for money for New York city.
WiFi did not work and we had to call tech support to get connected.
Close to subway station; we were able to find street parking (during night); easy to get around; good breakfast.
The room smelled like feet
The room was nice
See first comment. Plus refrigerator in room froze the items placed in it.
Friendly helpful staff.
Very convenient to a subway terminal, and in a safe environment.
The price was right. The room, larger than expected (no complaints). The bed was extremely comfortable.
Nothing, got exactly what I paid for. Was able to relax and sleep with no issues.
The entire staff
Comfort of bed
Bath towels were well worn, and one had a hole in it.
Staff was very helpful, and friendly. Room was spacious and comfortable.
Right at the beginning I was greeted by the operations manager, Tom. His behavior was completely uprofessional!! This is a very rude man, or even downright rude, or boor. I have been many times in similar hotels in NY, and in mone of them there was no problem with the staff. Hours of the breakfast on weekend unacceptable.
Other staff proved to be extremely polite. Location. Quite comfortable rooms.
They doesn't help you if you have problems. I got flight problem and can't arrived on time at hotel, but they charged me all staying dutties. They doesn't call or ask about the problems and charged everithing in the shadow. That was disgusting!
I called to ask and comment about my problems, but they alleged that i have to contact Booking.com, doesn't response on their own liabilities.
I didnt like the fact you had to pay $25 extra to park your car in the garage.
I liked the entire experience here. It was very clean, good staff and overall nice place for the weekend. Plenty of parking on the streets, so you dont have to pay for parking.
Location. But it's a very safe area to walk at night.
One of the most thrifty yet it has a four to five star hotel appeal. Very strategic to get to Manhattan via train or drive within minutes. The surrounding area makes the hotel look very out of place.
TV channel selection and TV reception very poor
Quite expensive for one person, If you are not going to sit in a room, it makes sense to look for more modest conditions but in manhattan by the same price
To the room and staff have no complains, all was ok
Stylish hotel, clean and comfortable. Location near central bus station.
Nothing to dislike!
Warm welcome from staff who were very helpful with details of nearest metro stations and places to eat and drink. We were upgraded to a suite which we hadn't expected and it was huge. Lovely comfortable bed and very clean. Very acceptable breakfast with free coffee available all day in the lobby as well as in the room.
Dark deserted surrounding streets at night. Limited choices for breakfast. Didn't cater for a vegan/gluten free diet. Intermittent wifi access. Horrid torn plastic curtains!
Good transport links. Distance from shopping areas! (Close enough but without the light pollution).Comfortable beds!
First time we saw a fee charged to hold bags in store for a few hours.
Hotel was well priced by NYC standards and provided good facilities. A quick stroll to 2 subway stations meant an easy connection to anywhere in Manhattan and also to JFK. Good breakfast buffet but a bit of a struggle to find a local decent restaurant at night.
Traffic noise early morning and plastic utensils for complimentary breakfast.
Good sized rooms, clean and well maintained. Location safe and good access to subway to NY city via Queensboro Plaza. Free tea and coffee and laundry facilities Complimentary breakfast, basic but OK.
Stained pillows. Fixtures becoming old & tatty - stayed here previously 2 years ago & things are definitely starting to age since then, including the welcome.
