Reception and the busy Powell St entrance, its a great city stop and meet place. Charming staff on reception.
Very limited Bar capacity. Very old and tired rooms, not a worthy standard. Bathroom small and cramped.
The power was out due to a major storm but the hotel still managed to provide excellent service.
Room was comfortable.
Outside noise at night. Needed extra pillow.
Location Staff Kuleto's Restaurant
Lobby is very nice, and the restaurant areas are as well.
Rooms need updating, air conditioner was not working properly. Hallways were old and in poor condition.
People are great.
Power went off on bed side of the room around midnight. It came back at 9AM following morning. WiFi did not work in the bathroom. Hotel needs to be refreshe, it has an old lady tired look. Parking fee...
Cutest hotel I've ever stayed at! Nice bathroom, and hotel location was great, in the middle of shopping and only a few blocks away from BART.
Room needs renovations. Horrible smell in the hotel because everything needs to be renovated. Too old
I surprised my husband with a nights stay for the weekend at Villa Florence and our stay was excellent. From the moment we stepped into the hotel till the moment e left we were treated very well. The staff is very available and approachable. Our desk clerk Daniel greeted us with a big smile and great attitude. He answered all our questions and was very enthusiastic. Our room was very nice and had a great style. The hotel is in the process of remodeling all the rooms. The hotel also has a lot of charm hope they don't lose that with the remodel.
The staff was wonderful and very helpful. It was clean. The location was nice.
The rooms were very small and didn't look the the rooms that were advertised. The hotel was just dated.
The hotel that we usually stay recently renovated their rooms and prices so we booked Villa Florence. Perfect choice: great Union Square location, excellent customer service. Bonus having Kuletos Restaurant attached.
Weekend closing hours for restaurant and coffee bar seems a little early for being in Union Square
I like the location of the hotel, it was a walking distance from all the relevant locations in the city center.
Location is wonderful. Middle of all shopping centres. Staff excellent. Will go back when renos are done. Food excellent. Normal rooms are great. Picture above gives idea that all rooms are the same.
You book us in the smallest room in the hotel. 10x12 feet. Trying living in this space with two people. Changes rooms after 3 days. This room should be a closet for the staff supplies. Shower stall in small room leaked due to space between shower glass. Water on bathroom floor.
Terrific location Very helpful desk staff Good restaurant
The cafe at the front was shambolic in the mornings; understaffed and apparently unable to produce a decent cup of coffee
Staff was super friendly, helpful, and pleasant. Kuletto's discount was nice, I enjoyed my breakfast there.
Was looking forward to a hot bath, alas...no tub. It would've been nice to know that in advance.
The location of the hotel was great - very central and the staff were very helpfull.
The bed in the room was very small and the noise coming in from the side street at night was terrible. We were woken each night by either music or arguments going on in the street below us.
The location is superb. The restaurant is exceptional, and the staff is unfailingly friendly and professional. All in all, the stay was outstanding. Villa Florence has always and will continue to be my hotel of choice when I am in SF.
Nice room, nice bed, decently-sized bathroom. Very quiet.
In-room air-conditioner seemed to have two settings: loud and off. Nothing I could do really changed the temperature.
Really like the hotel a LOT!!! I'd would definitely stay again in my next trip to SF..
Location near Union Square was great, as was the staff and the service. Room we had was roomy and comfortable. Short walk to major shopping and tourist buses and local transport options were only 5 minutes away.
Hotel is looking very tired, although an upgrade to rooms is planned. Wi fi was very choppy, so there is definite room for improvement there.
Looking for a central location, great access to public transport including bart and the cable cars plus a lot of history at your hotel and great staff - look no further! I have stayed there now on several occasions and never was disappointed. The property itself is old, so you have to deal with small elevators and the occasional crooked floor. But it compensates with a great team and a lot of charm plus great upkeep. Also they have just started a major renovation of their guest rooms ( no worries about noise so far as work is between 9am and 5pm ) which will make the property even greater.
Room service menu is rather limited in choice, around 3 to 4 items per group. It is served out of the Kuletto restaurant on side. The menu in the restaurant is amazing with loads of variance and choices. Service downstairs is unfortunately not flexible at all if you want them to deliver a regular menu item via room service. A bit of a disappointment, particular when staying longer and having to work in the evenings as well. Food quality is great though.
The hotel was very convenient and the staff helpful.
The room which we had windows facing the heaters/air conditioner for the hotel and was somewhat cramped. We had made reservations early and I would have expected a better room.
Location, Staff Knowledge,Comfortable Environment,Walking to many areas, Chinatown ect. Decor and Restaurant food very well done.
Restaurant Service needed some attention. Had to flag down twice for service and Check. I usually speak to server when initial greeting about service I expect. Did not on this occasion lesson learned
The condition of the room, the electrical outlets, the dark elevator
