For my family and me, there were too many negatives.

Great location in Greenwich Village. Table and microwave oven in the room so we could have dinner and breakfast.

The appartments are not part of a hotel, but in a building, so it was confusing at first. But the concierges were nice and helpful. Very very small bathroom. We could not get internet (with the cable/TV) to work.

location is a best in NY city. Drinking coffe in the morning with Wahington square squirells is exactly what you need for a good day in NY.

Please, remember, that all the money you payed for this place you payed for location. All the rest is just bearable, no more.

The doormen are incredibly excellent. Location brilliant. i stay here once a month because of above. everything else is pretty bad including the fact that you cannot discuss anything with the owners/ managers of the hotel.

Hotel itself has bad beds, miniscule bathrooms, ethernet doesnt work unless you spend an hour reinstalling it yourself, and there is no kitchen.

Im satisfied location to have meeting at Soho at 23nd St. easy to buy what I needed at grocery at liquor store. Guards at the reception are king and casually nice.Thanks Nami

The location is great, in northeastern Greenwich Village, on a quiet street. Having a kitchen is useful, and our apartment even had a small clothes washer.

Bathroom tiny, but clean and properly equipped.

The location and the door man, Angel, is wonderful.

Everything else.The tv/internet doesn't work and I have stayed there ten times and its only worked seven times. They advertise a stove and there is almost never a stove and they tell you to use a hot plate. The bed is miserable and super noisy every time you move. The apartment is in a perfect location so I keep trying thinking it will get better but if you dont absolutely need that location do not stay at this hotel. Plus after five they wont help you at all. Also if you are large you wont fit in the bathroom.

I was visiting Courant Institution of Mathematics at New York University for a short conference. The location of Village Apartments is absolutely strategic: within five minute walk from my destination, and only within two minutes walk from metro, 8th and Broadway. It takes about 50 minutes to go from/to La Guardia Airport using yellow line metro and m60 bus. Very convenient. The place is old fashion and old. Kind of old white paint with cracks and multiple layers over piling off paint, but clean. Hardwood floors. Old, but real, meaning not fake. The price is high, but it is New York, and it is Manhattan, so frankly, if you restrict your search by considering hotels with private bath, this is simultaneously the cheapest and the most convenient place I ever found. It is called executive studio, in reality, of course it is not. It is just a room for one person, or for a couple to stay visiting New York. Minimum services, but all essentials things are here: the room has refrigerator, microwave, kitchen sink, a dinner table, and few dishes, caps, spoons, forks -- basically all what you need to make your own breakfast. There is a pizza place just next door, a chinese convenience store within the same blocks, and a Deli store within 1 minute walk, so buy your grocery and make breakfast for yourself. This is what I did. Pretty handy and saves a lot of time, given that in the morning it is quite cold and windy outside and I am out of shower and need time to dry my hair before getting out. New York University starts just across the street. It is a bit bohema kind of public, making its own charm. There are pictures of Lucky Luchano and Robert Deniro in the Pizza next door, but it is not possible to say for sure whether these gangsters ever visited the place.

Apt had good windows that kept street noise out.

When the heat turned on, there was a loud clanking sound in the heaters. Also, the bathroom was beyond small and moldy.

Location - door staff - price in comparison to other places at a last minute booking - perfectly comfortable - free internet

Dodgy plugs - not enough space for kitchen things - in need of a bit of freshening up

i like the staf they are wonderful. like the kitchen but everytime i call ahead and make sure i am getting a kitchen and not just a microwave and fridge and everytime i have to complain because they havent given it to me.
