I thought the value for the dollar was wonderful. While not incredibly deluxe looking from the outside, the room was clean, the staff was friendly, and parking was free! I was very happy with my stay, and I do not normally rate hotels, but I was very impressed with the German Village Inn.

The German Village Inn is a reasonably priced hotel, close to Downtown Columbus, on the outskirts of German Village - a trendy, upscale neighborhood with neat shops, good restaurants, and easy access to the Brewery District, the Arena District, a short drive to the Short North, the Convention Center, and the State Capitol. An additional feature is the free parking for guests in a city where overnight parking at the Hyatt, the Crown Plaza, the Great Southern, etc can cost $17.00 to $21.00. The "free breakfast" is coffee, Sunny Delight, and a selection of muffins and pre-packaged sweet rolls- nothing to write home about. The shower took five minutes or more each morning to get comfortably hot, but once it did the water was plentiful.

I was very happy with the staff at the Motel. I was greeted with a smile and was treated very well. When I checked out I enjoyed the same great service and was asked to return ( with a smile ) I will definately return.

Location and price They did not have a copy of my rerservation. Thank god I had a copy. We got a queen room instead of a king. We had a room that had been smoked in, cigarette burns everywhere

The room was clean. For an older motel is was kept up well. The pillows were very small for a king sized bed, I needed more pillows

The room was clean and air unit was quiet,. The room was very pleasant and quiet. The walk to the Schmidt House was great and a stop at the Pub next door was very relaxing. Enjoyed the location and the atmosphere in the German Village.

It was relatively clean, in a good location, walking distance to at least a few fast food places, and felt safe just in general. The night I stayed there, there was a football game and when I went to go out at 10pm, there were two incredibly drunk men peeing on the pavement just as I came downstairs. There was no way for me to avoid them and so I just stepped aside and waited for them to finish. I'm aware this wasn't the staff's fault and when I told the guy at the desk the next morning (There was no one there at 10pm when I looked), he did look concerned, but it wasn't like he could do anything about it.

The motel was run down and not what we had expected from the photos that were online. We did not know that the rooms had doors that opened to the outside, as again, the pictures did not show the actual hotel--just the office area. It was poorly managed--people were partying in the parking lot with their car stereos booming all night long. The room was dirty and not properly cleaned upon our arrival. Overall, a very poor expeience-- one that I would not recommend to amyone!
