Quite apart from being in a great location and a magnificent hotel, you need to eat in the main restaurant - the food was exceptional. Make sure you stay and eat in at least one night.
Our Eldest Son was playing in the Bitcoin Bowl in St Petersburg over Christmas. We were concerned about being in a hotel over Christmas. The Vinoy was so beautifully decorated and the staff so friendly felt like such a treat. We are so glad we stayed and would do it again!
Views from the balcony overlooking the bay are incredible!
This hotel had the best staff I've ever experienced, wonderfully comfy rooms, and a relaxed, warm and cosmopolitan atmosphere all at the same time. The location near the waterfront was great, and only a short walk to museums, parks, and shopping. I would gladly stay here again.
One of the elevators was broken, so there were occasional long waits. Staff were also confined to this one small elevator too, so the housekeepers had trouble moving between floors with their carts.
Big and pretty lobby area
The room small and a bit run down. No free Wifi in the room, you need to pay 16 Dollar per day :-( No complimentary water or coffee machine
Excelent choice to St Pete. Nice new year's party at the perfect location.
We made reservation for a 2 king beds room (3 person) onde night prior to arrive to the new years eve. The room offered when we arrived was a one queen bed with an extra mounted single bad and the answer to my claim was: we are fully booked months ago. We understand that, especially about the last minute reservation to new years eve but in this case I think the availability should be checked prior to confirm reservation. Booking's faillure? Anyway we like it and the new year's party too but miss the countdown to midnight with any diferent (maybe epical or new age) music instead of the same lounge music that was already playing, but it's ok, was really good.
Food was delish! Staff was courteous! Location was ideal! Beds were dreamy!
Didn't expect to pay for parking! Didn't like having to pay to have a refrig.
Liked the location, rooms worth were nice with comfortable beds and the staff were friendly
However compared with other 4 star hotels I've stayed in this one is far to expensive and the location and view (assuming you get a bay side view) is simply not worth the money. No breakfast buffet so you have to order what you want off the menu, good news is you can have pretty much what ever you want and it's high quality, bad news is it takes an hour to arrive and the restaurant wAs not busy at the time. I guess it's ok if you have 2 hours spare to eat breakfast but no good if you are in a hurry.
Wonderful location. Staff efficient, friendly and helpful. Size of room - plenty of space and a fabulous view over the Bay. Hope to return for a longer stay!
it is a beautiful property in a beautiful location
only complaint was in the dining experience. Bar in lobby and outside did not open until 1 pm. The staff on the porch seemed rushed, not enough perhaps.
Lovely building in first class order Superb staff in both attitude and appearance Airy, bright and well maintained bedroom Communal areas, from dining areas to the pool, in excellent decorative order and well staffed
Very little. Plates weren't hot for breakfast buffet (and if that is all there is to complain about then you can tell that things were pretty good!)
We stayed for 35 nights over the Summer split into two trips. The beds are the comfiest ever and the hotel in general is excellent. Staff are helpful and all facilities are great. We will be back.
The pool at the weekends gets very hectic. There is constant loud (often not very tuneful) music at the pool which unfortunately ruins it. We chose to sit on the upper area away from the music which unfortunately means that you're away from the pool.
they made us feel very special
stay was tooo short
Well first let me start by saying this hotel is totally amazing. When we booked we didn't know what to expect but it turned out to be a great choice, we will certainly return. We loved how everything was within walking distance, the staff was extra friendly and the rooms had the best beds ever..
The staff was particularly warm and helpful. The property was (of course) very beautifully maintained and the location was wonderful!
I have nothing negative to say.
Love the preservation.
My room was musty smelling
Food was great at the pool resturant, server excellent. Rooms were large and very lovely!
The attentive staff. The size of the rooms. The location. All in all wonderful experience.
The idea that we would have to pay so much for internet service.
The facilities were beautiful and had an incredible view.
The bathroom wasn't the cleanest and everything cost money nothing was included.
The staff was awesome, very attentive. Beds were comfortable. Pool was nice and restaurants were good and drinks but too pricey.
The layout of the hotel and the small elevators. View could have been better. Too expensive for what you get. The TV was terrible no guide on remote or description so you just had to flip around aimlessly.
Great location staff great
They waited me to pay for wifi. That is just wrong
Grand Old Hotel, well maintained
Truly elegant, without seeming snooty. Our bay-view room was lovely, spacious and comfortable, with a wonderful view of the entire waterfront through two huge windows. The pool was great, and so were evening drinks on the verandah. It was a busy weekend, but somehow our stay still felt leisurely. Loved pretty much everything!
Like lots of other places where summers are hot and humid, inside was TOO COLD--despite the perfect outdoor temperature during our stay. Were able to keep our room comfortable, though. And as someone else mentioned, top sheets on beds were oddly undersized (wouldn't have noted without the earlier review, though).
Great location, beautiful historic hotel, excellent food.
The guest tower is a pain to get to via mulitpul stairways and elevators. I Recomended to stay in the main hotel if possible.
