Housed in a former 19th-century brewery along Otsego Lake in Cooperstown, Lake Front Hotel is just steps from the shops and restaurants of the center of town.
Score from 358 reviews Very good
The historic Tunnicliff Inn built in 1802 is in the center of downtown Cooperstown. All of the downtown shops, restaurants and attractions are only a 1-minute walk away.
Score from 153 reviews Excellent
This lakefront hotel features free Wi-Fi in common areas and most rooms have a work desk. Hartwick College and the State University of New York College at Oneonta is a 15-minute drive away.

Score from 123 reviews Very good
Very big room. Close to main street. Very clean
The bathroom outlet didnt work for the hair dryer
Price was right. Offered basic amenities. Clean and centrally located. Breakfast at the main motel the next morning was great!
Very basic. Bathroom door was locked shut when we first arrived. Shower was tiny!
Close to all the attractions
No vending service such as ice
No hot water pot.
The fact that the inn only had three rooms. The close proximity to the attractions and restaurants.
Location was excellent. It would be great for a family as Room A had 2 queen beds plus a seperate room with TV.
A bit overpriced for a very ordinary room.
Room was fine and comfortable. Check in went okay.
Toilet overflowed with first flush, flooded entire bathroom and onto bedroom carpet for several feet. No plunger available to remedy situation. Called front desk for help with clean up, received a recording that they were closed until 8 AM the next day - no emergency/maintenance number available. Unable to use flooded bathroom prior to check out next morning. Politely explained problem to young lady at desk and received a blank stare and an "o.k." with each point made. No apology or concern shown at all! I concluded by saying it was a very disappointing experience, and once again received only an "o.k." and blank stare.
Can't beat the location ... room was fine - nothing exciting - would stay again with our own pillows.
Lots of "rules" would seem to be a poor reflection on past guests.
Lots of room
Huge room, convenient location, friendly staff.
Beds could be bigger.
Location and parking Clean Bathroom but poor amenities.
Lack of local information for restaurants and other places to eat. Room did not have television station guide. No phone to call front desk. Seedy sofas in sitting room. Bed comforters are in need of a cleaning.
Location in relation to HOF, downtown shopping and the lake. Parked the car and never needed it again.
No control over the air conditioning made for a sticky night. I know Cooperstown is Historic, but in this day and age WIFI is a must.
Location! Location! Room was nice but... see below.
Someone in the room next to us smoked in their room. The smell of smoke was throughout our room. We had two children with us. Was hard to get them to sleep with the smell. Aweful for what is advertised as a non-smoking hotel.
Everything , perfect location for everything in Cooperstown , so clise to the Baseball Hall of Fame & Doubleday Field , we ate at the Waterfront Resturant a short walk & right next door at the Back Alley Grill both fantastic :-) Tony & Jenny Mickelson from Raymond Terrace NSW Australia
Our only negative if you want to call it that , it would have been nice to have a small Coffee / Tea making facility in the room , other than that nothing , perfect , Thank You
We were in Cooperstown for the Dreams Park baseball event. Staying at the Visions Inn made the trip enjoyable for the whole family. It is right in the heart of the village. We enjoyed all of the restaurants and being steps from Lake Otsego and the Baseball Hall of Fame. Our room was nice and big, so we could spread out. I would recommend Visions Inn for families coming to Cooperstown.
The mattresses and sofas in Room A were a little worn and uncomfortable. New bedding and seating would have made this place perfect.
We stayed overnight in one f the largest single rooms I have ever been in at a hotel. Could have easily been two rooms. Location to cooperstown was excellent. Parking is tight, but you do have reserved parking. Overall satisfied.
Everything was nice, other than the air conditioner sticking through the wall that ran all night.
location close to Museum
no control of AC, below average bathroom, not nearly enough towels for 2, towels far too small, no phone in room to contact desk which was 2 blocks away. Just very very disappointing in many ways
good location, decent price for the area.
hard to get into parking, check-in 2 blocks away.
Room was spacious. There were 2 obnoxious postings in the room insinuating that if we plan to take the tv remote then no problem we will just charge you. At check on after a 5 hour drive I asked the guy if he had a garbage. He said no. I said Really? In this hotel office there is no garbage? He stared daggers at me. Huffed, then slowly turned and picked up the pail behind the desk and let me throw my paper out. My 9 year old son ran in and asked to use a bathroom and he said no.
Just the staff
This accomodation was separated from the main inn by two blocks. There was no staff at this location, the pillow shams and bedspreads were dirty. It was repulsive. It looked like a room at a ski lodge where college students stay for low prices. The price of this room was twice as much as the room I booked at Bookings.com for the night before. The tv was 10 or more years old. There were signs warning that if the tv remote disappeared the guest would gladly be charged $20. Who would be able to use an antique remote like this. There was soap and ketchup sized shampoo packets in the the bathroom, but no hair conditioner or body lotion. The hot water took a very long time to heat up and ran out very quickly. I would not trust Bookings.com reviews again.
LOCATION: Baseball Hall of Fame in view from the front of the motel. What more could you ask for? Whole town within walking distance from this motel. Parked the car and didn't have to use it again during our stay. Lake a block and a half away. Nice staff, clean accommodations. Water pressure in shower.
Beds were a little uncomfortable. No coffee make in room, although coffee shop was a block down the alley. No counter space in bathroom.
The location is awesome. Free parking is great.
We booked 2 nights here. Never again. We were put in Room C of the Vision Inn, a converted barn, except room C is a converted garage and feels that way - unventilated, right next to the cars on the ground floor, smelled of cleaning solvents, very low ceiling and a running toilet, with a big door at the back of the room with a Danger sign on it. Ugh. We asked the woman at the desk at the Lake Front Hotel (which runs Visions as, it seems, an overflow place), who had checked us in, if we could move to a decent (but still very basic) room in the Lake Front Hotel (really a motel) for the first night. She did so very begrudgingly and only after we had to argue with her and agreed to pay another $40! For the second night she said they had no other rooms and we'd have to go back to the garage room. We said we'd take the alternate room for the first night and asked for our money back for the second night. She refused, saying they couldn't do this because we had booked through booking.com - even though she had just taken our credit card for the second night when we had checked in! Incredible - we were unhappy, attempting to cancel with more than 24 hours notice, and this is Cooperstown in the summer - where you know they will fill the room! So, a very inhospitable and upsetting time. We informed booking.com of this right away, and something changed overnight. When we went back to the desk (after a very mediocre breakfast at the Lake Front), a different person was behind the counter and we asked if anything had changed and whether we could stay at the LakeFront for the second night as we were not going to go back to the garage. The man in the morning had obviously been briefed on our problem, and said no, they could not accomodate us in a different room. Even then, though, he didn't offer to refund our money - though when we asked, he did so. So,still not very nice that we had to ask again. There was a happy ending, however.
The location was excellent. Suite was pleasant.
The lack of basics, such as a coffee maker for morning coffee. Tiny TVs in oversize cabinets seemed silly. The lack of Wii, although available at Lakefront. The desk staff at Lakefront was indifferent.
