Key West is a gem of an island in the Florida Keys, popular with pleasure seekers and history buffs alike. As the most southern destination in the continental United States, Key West has a fascinating history, dating back to its settlement by Spanish explorers in the 16th century.
Today, this little island off the coast of Florida attracts over a million cruise visitors a year through the Port of Key West. Visitors come to see Hemingway House, where Ernest Hemingway penned "A Farewell to Arms." Key West Cemetery provides a unique walk through the multicultural past of the city. There are also trolley rides through the historic district of Jackson Square.
There’s more than just history to Key West, however. Smathers Beach is a place to have fun in the sun, while Mallory Square provides the chance to shop and watch a magnificent sunset. The excellent bus system helps you get around the island without a car.
Key West International Airport is a mere 4 miles from Duval Street, the heart of downtown and a good place to stay for easily exploring the nearby sights. With accommodations ranging from resorts to B&Bs, Booking.com helps you get the best stay for the best price in Key West!
Beautiful place to visit. We really enjoyed the tours we took. A great place to eat was Rams Head Southernmost restaurant. Very generous portions and a great atmosphere. Pizza Joe's also had really good pizza by the slice. We found the best way to get around was to use Uber or walking. There is no parking and the traffic is very heavy. We drove to Key West but next time we would fly in and use Uber to get around.

It was very crowded with tourists and finding places to eat for children was difficult. Eating was quite expensive. We took the trolley tour which was a nice way to see the area. Enjoyed the Hemingway House, Truman House and Butterfly Conservatory. We found it easier to stroll the side streets and Upper Duval because they were a bit quieter.

Key West is a wonderful place for all to visit.
Key West is a wonderful place for all to visit. It offers something for everyone from diverse food choices, to beaches, boats and shopping. The culture is eccentric, and thr history is interesting. I recommend visiting the Key West cemetery, the East Martello Tower botanic garden (which is free), the Hemingway Home, and taking a sunset cruise. Just simply walking off the beaten path allows you to really see Key West and the people who live there. The architecture is so varied from small cigar houses to large Victorian mansions. Finally, when your feet are tired, pick up a pair of Kino sandals for $25 made in Key West.

We had a terrible experience as we had DEAD lizard in the room, plus trash under the sofa bed. We couldnt use the sofa bed and entire family had to sleep on one bed. Total waste of money spent on the hotel room. The staff (manager) was so discourteous and refused to even speak or connect with the guests.
I have chased booking.com over the last 3 weeks to get my money refunded, but all in vain.
Customer Service Agents just apologize but cannot provide any solutions.

Key West had plenty of things to visit and lots of tourist things to do.
Some ocean restaurants were expensive but that us to be expected at the beach. Lots of people drive bikes and golf carts so it might be better to rent a golf cart instead of a car. Lots of fun people and fun things to do!

Hotel location great walking distance to all sights in old town. 2 full days is enough to see the history of the old town and enjoy the vibe walking around. an extra day would be for outings if you had more time out in the water. 2-3 days would be appropriate for this location unless relaxing for week on the beach.
Everything! The staff at check-in was so friendly and helpful orienting me to the property and surrounding areas. They gave me a map and told me general info about Duvall Street nearby. With their helpful info I was able to get around and see all the sights I wanted. The hotel has free parking, which was a factor in selecting it, but it got even better. At check-out, staff told me I could still keep my car at the hotel for 2-3 hours afterward. Paid parking is basically everywhere in Key West so this was an exceptional bonus!
Beautiful and historic building in a prime location. It's not a chain hotel or a generic rental house. From the awesome decor to the "honor system" for grab and go drinks, you immediately sense that you're staying somewhere special. The cool environment becomes part of your overall vacation experience. Marreros is easy walking distance (like, around the corner) from the best bars and restaurants in Key West. Great pool, too — large, perfect temp, never crowded (often had it to myself).
Very friendly staff and beautiful place to stay. Breakfast was very nice (normal plates and cutlery, not the plastic ones). Very well located. Some comments mentioned the roosters crowing close to the hotel- there are soo many roosters around Key West, if you stay downtown, that's just a thing you'll experience and is not related to this hotel ;) + we slept very well!
Parking was ok. It's a 15min walk from the hotel and located in a parking garage. Dropped off our suitcases, all easy.
The location was just perfect, close to the duval street but still far enough to have peace and feel like on your own private key west island:) The grounds of the hotel were stunning, the greenery was tropical and made us feel relaxed. We had our own small cottage with porch and felt like there is nobody else just us although the hotel was fully booked. We loved the possibility to take drinks and snacks from the common kitchen.
We stayed for a couple of days at the Parrot Key and had the most amazing time ever: The property of the Hotel is a beautiful, private oasis - exactly what we needed! We loved our hotel room: very clean with nice interior. The staff was always very friendly, not only at the reception but also at the watersports center. We did an amazing Jetski tour around Key West and would highly recommend it! 10 out of 10!
There are several pools and a hot tub, all of them are great. There is also a bar with quite cheap drinks that you can get at any time during the day. Breakfast is good and the room (6-bed room) pretty big with comfortable bunk beads, as well as a fridge. You can also book different activities (e.g. snorkel tour) directly at the hostel. Definitely, one of the best value for money options in Key West.
Alexys was absolutely the best! She touched base the day of check in to be sure we knew what to do if we were going to have a late check-in. She was very informative on the property, the area, and how to get where we wanted to go. This hotel is in the HEART of Key West - equal distance from Mallory Square and the Southernmost Point and conveniently situated close to Duval St.
Clean and comfy rooms. Beautiful clean and spacious pool. Plenty of lounge chairs for all. Loved the convenient poolside bar. Continental breakfast is an awesome perk. Staff was friendly and courteous. Price also seemed fair considering your in Key West, definitely the best bang for out buck! One of the best hotels I've stayed at, hands down.
Very quaint. Especially for a hotel built almost 70 years ago. Very nice pool. Connected to the Stone Crab Restaurant which was awesome. Best seafood in town for the price. Stone crab, crab legs and monster pink shrimp was the best seafood meal we’ve Ever had. Everything else you are there for the key west experience.
The Blue Marlin is the best! The staff is very friendly, and helpful. Daily breakfast was served and had everything anyone needed. The heated pool was clean and refreshing. The hotel is in a great location, easily walkable to everywhere in Key West. I cannot say enough nice things about The Blue Marlin!🌴
First time visiting Key West and what a trip - spend the weekend over and had an absolute great time. Couldn't ask for a better hotel to stay at!!! Wonderful staff, food and lastly a good variety of water activities to do. Thank you hotel Capitana Key West Team.
The hotel is good. Beautiful and looks brand new. The rooms are big enough and have a lot os space. The balcony of each room is very cozy. If you want to stay away from the Key West "fever" : it's great and quite.
Older motel/hotel. Some nice common spaces, roof, patio, and other small spaces. Location was good not great. Price was high but everything in Key West is expensive, at least for accommodations.
Our stay was very nice. The reception from Simona and Peter was very welcoming. They explained the area on a map of Key West so we can get around. The hotel itself was clean and comfortable.
Hotel was quaint and located fairly close to the main attractions in Key West. breakfast was included and was of good quality. Liked our room and the general atmosphere of the hotel.
Hotel was near the Key West attractions we wanted to see and the wedding beach location even though the beach location changed after the reservations were made.
