The cost and service
Location, friendliness of staff
small room for the money; $55 car parking fee at the hotel
Fantastic location, and views. Very comfy rooms Huge bathrooms
The slow answering of the phone and response to emails.
your location , staff and restaurant bar
Location fun and gives great access. Hotel clean, great sheets.
Overpriced for quality of room, add on pricing not explained and booking; concierge gave terrible advice and wasted our time. Probably that was the biggest turn off and the rest could have been forgivable as 'city prices.' Well, that and the nickel and diming felt indirect and uncomfortable.
Recommendations from staff Desk clerk's desire to give me a great room Great restaurant and "happening" bar Access to the terrific YMCA facilities a couple of blocks away
Health club...too small for a hotel that is trying to appeal to a health conscious traveler BUT, the Vitale's access to one of the best YMCA's I've been to more than made up for this shortfall
-proximity to ferry building and shops
- too expensive for the value offered - looks like a quick remodel job - spa lacks 'wow' factor - too many posers
Loved the location, the design, the view from the room, the bed, the fact that it was very clean.
Price was a bit high. For gym freaks, no fresh air or view (considering the location) in the gym.
Location. Room design.
Staff not very attentive
Great location and altogether a great facility, would highly recommend.
They did try to charge us a "resort fee" of $30 USD per night which was not explained particulary given we had paid in advance. They did eventually agree to remove it. This was my only issue with this hotel other wise it was a very enjoyable stay.
Location was great and the staff were awesome..especially the Concierge.
Really serves the business crowd and not equipped for leisure visits which can be a longer stay. Room 255 had half view of the AC unit and half of the Bay. I paid for a full view of the Bay. Also there were 3 of us to use one drawer and an amoire for our clothing. Needless to say we spent 7 day living out of luggage. It reminded me of camping. The little fridge was packed with booze. We not could even store juice or water.
Looks great and feels like an upmarket hotel.
Lacked soul. Apart from one front desk staff, didn't feel that special or welcome. Quite expensive and everything is an additional charge including bottle of water in the room. Ought to be really nice and special but misses the market. Look elsewhere, there's better in SF.
Friendly staff Location Comfy Beds Fresh lavender everywhere
Wish wasn't so pricey
Decor, bar, staff, location
No view from our room this time.
This hotel was in a wonderful location, every staff member we encountered was friendly and helpful, and the rooms were nice. We especially loved the rooftop decks (one on the 5th floor, and one on the 8th) for the amazing views. The concierge, Steve, was extremely helpful in helping us decide on restaurants for dinner and getting us reservations! I would definitely come back to stay here again in the future!
The parking was expensive at $55/night, but that is, unfortunately, the going rate at most hotels in San Francisco!
Great location, friendly stuff, good restaurant. Nice, spacious, clean rooms.
Location Boutique Service Spa
1hour for room service. No turn down service.
Spacious rooms, great decor, comfortable beds. Terrace over-looking Bay Bridge and Ferry Building. Friendly staff. Perfect for going to Giant's game-and shopping at Ferry Building.
Could hear people in adjacent rooms.

Gym could be better
Location was great -- beautiful view of water, close to Exploratorium, Embarcadero, many restaurants, decent value for money. Room was clean and well appointed.
Service at outside deck restaurant (on main floor) was poor/non-existant. After waiting 20 minutes without any service finally left.
The hotel restaurant was fun and fabulous for meeting up with friends.
"Rooftop terraces" were disappointing for me
