Score from 1241 reviews Very good
Location and staff were both great. Hotel is generally well designed, however a little bland and starting to look dated for a hotel which see's itself as premium and 'design'.
$850+ a night is massively overpriced. It's a general issue with SF, particularly at busy times of year, however it makes it impossible to say that a hotel which is in most ways pretty nice, a great place to stay.
They advertise roof top terraces and both were closed for private parties. I could have stayed at any hotel at that point for less money.
This is a wonderful hotel close to most attractions or near public transportation. The staff was very helpful. We will return
The location of the hotel is great, near the ocean and the piers. The stuff was very helpful and kind. We really recommend on the restaurant in the ground floor, the food is amazing. The room was big and clean. 5 minute walk from the Market street and the San Francisco Cable Car (California line)
Close to BART, Market Street, hotel is small and polished. Great views of bay.
Location, bar scene
Bathrooms were not clean - plenty of mildew. I had to move rooms and 2nd room only somewhat better.
Clean and wonderful
Great location and helpful staff. Hotel has a good feel about it.
Great location, very nice rooms, good street noise abatement, excellent breakfast.
A great location for our one night stop over with very friendly and efficient staff
Ryan's welcoming personality He made you laugh and was so animated in a good way! He seized each moment and made you feel like you were special.
Staff, Location,and not sure
Our room location due to view also the outside terraces were pretty worn
Hotel staff very polite and accommodating!
Bed was a little to firm
Very well maintained rooms & furnishings(not tired) Super helpful staff. Great location
Location, comfort, cleanliness, style.
Resturant noise extremely high-- poor acoustics. Would seek other resturant options first before going back.
Only offered valet and was not that affordable for one night.
Hotel Vitale is beautifully designed and located in a very interesting and attractive area of San Francisco - my room view was of the Bay Bridge, yachts and ocean And the Embarcadero with its market, shops and eateries. The low rise compact building has been given quality finishing and although placed at a busy intersection is very quiet inside and my room was spacious and restful. The Americano restaurant for dinner served delicious Italian food. The staff were welcoming and attentive and presented a relaxed, caring image that creates confidence in this lovely European style hotel, an absolute jewel; I shall love to return for a longer stay soon.
Unable to get reservation in the Spa - since the Spa is strongly promoted as a main facility guests attention should be directed to necessity of reserving in advance of arrival - there was no opening for the evening of my arrival nor all the next day. The hotel is very popular at happy hour on Friday with mostly young business guests and they dominated the terrace and Americano bar and made a loud noise; clearly not the fault of the hotel since the hotel style is quiet, laid back and considerate of guest comfort.
Breskfast was not good
Location is great. Rooms are great with views.
Quality has disintegrated over the years. Safe broke, phone broke, valet was 40 minutes late and we missed the purposed of our trip which was a wedding ceremony. It took multiple calls and requests before the car arrived.
We made last minute plans to celebrate a special occasion and the staff from the minute we arrived until we needed to leave treated us like royalty. Even simple things like not being able to find ice on our floor or closing the balcony late at night when we were up there were treated in professional and thoughtful ways.
Water view, exceptional service staff.
Excessive noise, broken furniture. Hard, uncomfortable mattress. Very over priced, minor vandalism to belongings in car with valet parking.
Rooftop views Location
