This was a beautiful, peaceful, private cottage with all the amenities needed. The location in the rainforest provided the most lovely setting and a symphony of birdsongs. I would book here again in a heartbeat.
Gorgeous little cottage set in Ohia woods near Volcano National Park. Loved sitting in the hot tub listening to the Apapane. Absolutely charming- will stay here again in the future!
The bed was a little mushy for my taste and a more efficient woodstove would have improved the comfort on chilly nights and mornings.
A great place to stay while visiting the volcano national park
Quiet and relaxing.
This is a gem of a cottage in the rain forest within 5 minutes drive to Hawaii's Volcano National Park. It has a hot tub, flat screen tv, king bed and full kitchen. Very private yet easy to get to. Can't imagine staying anywhere else in this area.
What a great place. Even though there were neighbours we felt so private. The hot tub was fun in the rainforest. Despite the weather being a bit cool the little house was cosy. We were tempted to light the fire but really it was not cold enough. Loved all the little touches, like board games, little throws to cuddle into whilst relaxing and good Internet connections- no hassles at all. It was close to the Volcano National Park so so easy to visit there. Not too far to visit Hilo and even went on a tour to Manua Kea at night and still home by 11 pm, so great location.
The washing machine died while we were there.A nuisance. The DVD player we couldn't get to work.
great location, feels like it is in the middle of nowhere but is less than 10 minutes to drive to the national park and 5 minutes to drive to Volcano Village, we loved the warmth and comfort of the cabin and felt at home immediately, the kitchen was great and helped us save some money for breakfast, and we also really enjoyed the hot tub. we would definitely stay again!
After a winding drive it was exceptional to find ourselves in a bright cottage, replete with tropical flowers on the table. The kitchen, wood stove, and hot tub were well maintained and useful, and our time in Volcano was some of our best on the big island in no small part because we chose to stay at Volcano Hidden cottage.
Wish there were better knives for cutting pineapple!
Jungle experience. Romantic. Beautiful secluded cottage. Hot tub.
Loved the cottage, but the Housekeeping can be greatly improved. They left old rotting flowers in bathroom-awful smelling putrid water; spider webs & dust up high & low; laundry left in dryer for us to fold & put away? Filthy crusted bed comforter with white crusted "yuck" left behind-Cleary not washed in a long time. Sheets need updating. Ours were all "pilled" & rough from frequent use. The pillow cases smelled worn, not washed. Had to rewash everything.
Very comfortable space and clean. Hot tub a plus.
Tranquility! The rainforest provides an idyllic atmosphere and the location is perfect for Volcano National Park.
It's not ours!!
I loved the cabin with all the modern facilities. The shower is the best and the Jacuzzi in the forest wonderful.
There was NO dislikes, ONLY likes
Location excellent for Volcano National Park. The nights were cool and the wood burning fireplace was very nice to have.
very cozy, quiet, romantic, relaxing.. we especially liked the hot tub surrounded by rainforest. After six kids and everyday life, the weekend at the cottage helped us to reconnect. Can't wait to book another weekend!
there wasn't anything we didn't like.
Unique setting and alpine-style design of interior. All needs were there -washer/dryer, dishwasher, WIFI, TV / entertainment, cookware. Garage as it rains in 3500' rain forest each night. Hot tub was excellent but just used once as we got home in pm when rains started most days around 3-4 pm. Hosts left us alone. Never saw anyone. Checked in with a call. Cottage is 4 hr drive from Kona where airliners arrive, so we stayed first night with after dark arrival at Kona area hotel. Didn't want to start trip off with a wreck in a rental car in dark, unfamiliar road after 23 hr trip from CONUS to get there. Then had pleasurable daylight drive seeing sights along way to Volcano Cabin.
N/A. Recommended in their notebook a couple small items - extra makeup mirror in BR for shorter women on side wall - night light in BR and wall clock in main LR - and spatula for cooking - total out-of-pocket maybe $20 at WalMart - but still very livable without. I had bought own night light.
This place was amazing!!! Well equipped, clean and quiet (we did not see or hear anyone!) I didn't want to leave!
The best most wonderful experience. Hot tub under the stars...Will definitely stay here on a return visit!
It was a gorgeous and very private home- beautiful woodwork and views out every window. The weather was rainy and bad so we missed using the hot tub but the inside was very cozy.
beautiful setting, great location, perfect for Volcano, Hawaii
wonderful experience. We were there in January and it gets cold at night. There is no central heat, but there is a wood-burning stove and space heater. The owner gave us that information prior to our visit, so we were prepared.
