Hotel sent us champagne & dessert upon arrival! And then later a hand written note. Very nice touches. Staff was very accommodating and attentive. The staff at the spa were wonderful and I highly recommend the Over The Hills and Far Away treatment!!!! Ask for Sarah, she was fantastic.
The pool area was not clean and looked very tired (furniture is soiled, dirty concrete, etc.). The water quality was cloudy and not at all appealing. Would suggest having a separate pool for guests to use if they are going to use the current one for "public" parties. No coffee maker in the room was a little inconvenient, but they had coffee down in the cafe.
The staff was awesome!
If you are not in mood for late dnight party - do not stay here.
noisy check in.....Paid wi fi,,,,,,
Staff was helpful and nice
Bathrooms were out of order in certain areas My sheets on my bed where not soft at all
Loved the pool!!! Loved the amenities of the hotel. Loved the location and super friendly staff!!
Hated that we didn't get rooms with double beds eve though we requested that For the value, the size of the rooms didn't match. Knowing that Austin is a meet up location for many, why not offer more group accommodations for sleeping???
I like all the amnesties the hotel has to offer.
I thought the hotel was dirty, carpets smelled, rooms were not cleaned properly. Food choices at Trace were mediocre. Away spa provided half decent services, unacceptable for the prices. The away staff was not very accommodating and cared more about enforcing policy that customer satisfaction.
The parking price
Had to wait at least 30 min past 3:00 check in time
The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location was also great. It was in walking distance of the convention center, Sixth Street, many restaurants, and the water.
It was a bit more expensive than other hotels in the area, and some of the other guests could be a bit rowdy. However, we had no issues when in our room or in the "living rooms".
Everything was perfect, shame that Austin moved the fireworks this year. We really enjoyed our time in Austin and hopefully will be back sometime.
Amazing service and helpful staff, beautiful view, generous upgrade
The beds and pillows were extremely comfortable. Both of us are fussy sleepers and slept very well during our stay. I love the fact that W recycles, is energy efficient, and is a silver Leed certified building. These eco-practices are the main reason I chose to stay there. I also loved the organic chicken, half and half for coffee and other organic food choices. The staff was very helpful and friendly - at Trace, at the desk, at the pool, and at the valet parking. I loved the outdoor area at Trace and the small garden between the tables and the street.
I didn't like the predominant grey color of the room. The steel grey walls and carpets were depressing. I also didn't like the red and black colors in the halls. It reminded me of Verizon's brand colors. Brighter more cheerful colors would be more uplifting. Although the gas fireplaces in the lobby were attractive, it is incredibly wasteful to have heat generating fireplaces going 24/7 in an air-conditioned lobby. The fact that guests could not use the stairs instead of the elevators, even with swiping their key cards to gain entrance, was very inconvenient and disappointing. The pool was small, narrow and shallow. A larger and deeper pool to swim in would be much better.
Long line to get valet parked car back from parking. Phone ahead - I mean way ahead!
Location property food and service
- shuttle service - friendliness of staff - free water - bliss products - bed comfort - everything!
- not much - it was expensive, but worth it
Rooms were nice a roomy. Plenty of space and cute space saving.
The room service was not good-- as in the food. The staff was great. Pool food was not good either. Everything is pricey though.
Attentive staff. They were really great.
Lovely bar and eating area, comfy beds and linen. Excellent location for us. That's about it!
Don't let the lounge areas fool you to think that the rooms will be great as there pretty basic, could be in any hotel. Shower head was so small, disgrace, W hotel Austin not worth the money. Valet parking is outragously expensive and extremely slow to return car. Failed to clean our room on one day! Shall never stay in a W hotel again.
The service was excellent , they had lots of a amenities provided that you normally wouldn't get from other hotels. Would be nice to get breakfast and wifi for free too as a standard
Everything was pricy. In room dining, wifi had a charge (which they waived for us) and all the snacks inside the room was a bit high and outrageous. $8 chips? $3 water?
Clean hotel, attentive staff, and excellent location.
Awsome style and kind staff.
Room Accommodations dated. Room a bit overpriced.
great room layout with plenty of space for luggage & personal items
no self-parking option; no free wi-fi
great location, great staff, excellent gym and spa. really nice restaurant
It's a hotel for under 35, if you are over 35 you are out of place. The bar is wall to wall people on Thursday, Friday and Saturday night with locals so it is tough to get a drink. We ended up using room service. Also you can't park those night either.
beautiful facility great location great staff
great style in a great location
