I didn't like the predominant grey color of the room. The steel grey walls and carpets were depressing. I also didn't like the red and black colors in the halls. It reminded me of Verizon's brand colors. Brighter more cheerful colors would be more uplifting.
Although the gas fireplaces in the lobby were attractive, it is incredibly wasteful to have heat generating fireplaces going 24/7 in an air-conditioned lobby.
The fact that guests could not use the stairs instead of the elevators, even with swiping their key cards to gain entrance, was very inconvenient and disappointing.
The pool was small, narrow and shallow. A larger and deeper pool to swim in would be much better.
The beds and pillows were extremely comfortable. Both of us are fussy sleepers and slept very well during our stay.
I love the fact that W recycles, is energy efficient, and is a silver Leed certified building. These eco-practices are the main reason I chose to stay there. I also loved the organic chicken, half and half for coffee and other organic food choices. The staff was very helpful and friendly - at Trace, at the desk, at the pool, and at the valet parking.
I loved the outdoor area at Trace and the small garden between the tables and the street.
