The view wasn't too good and didn't like that you have to pay for wifi. Especially for how much you spend on the room.
The room was very good and clean. The staff was friendly and willing to help.
Honestly no free wifi is the only thing I could fault it for. Otherwise - would stay again in a heartbeat.
The whole atmosphere, room was big, the bar downstairs was amazing and the location was superb.
Staff great. When I requested a twin room through booking.com we were treated like second class citizens. They said booking.com never send special requests through. When I asked the reception to change the room they did so although we did have to stay 1 night in king bed. Mother and 19 year old son staying together so they appreciated my concern!,
The pillows. Hate the feather pikkows. No support for neck and went practically flat. The reading light was poorly placed on the bed stand .
Location location. Great spacious room with a gorgeous view once the sky cleared.
From very start to finish the staff were terrible!!! Rude, dismissive, they just didn't care. No facilities! Over priced for what it actually is. This is not a luxury hotel... People eating take out in the hotel bar, mcdonalds, Dunkin donuts.... While others are paying $20 for a drink in a cold drafty space! Reception and door staff were the worst I've ever experienced in the US. Would not return- try the new Hyatt in Union square....
Price went up like no other, was not as quoted on their site. 3 elevators, only 1 was functioning. You literally waited 15-20 minutes on the top floors waiting for that 1 elevator to arrive and when it did sometimes it was so full it became like a sadistic comedy. Do yourself a favor and visit the Time Square location. It is much better if you have to stay at the W.
Location, that's about it.
Stayed at the Gansevoort Park Avenue the previous week, no comparison. Rooms were much nicer, staff was much friendlier. It was my anniversary which I mentioned while checking in, not even a mention or a bottle of wine. Poor customer service
Love the location. Haven't stayed here in over 2 years.
Have to pay for wifi. Really, in this day and age.
Easy to get to with lots of restaurant choices within walking distance. Comfortable and clean room. The scent in the lobby is intoxicating
Food is way to expensive.
Location cant be beat
the smile, the hospitality, staff trying to arrange and satisfy the client.... lovely stay
there was nothing I didn't like. I would have liked to have wi-fi in the room but got along fine without, as it is available in the lounge area which is very comfortable.
the service was exceptional the fruit water and apples were a treat the staff were professional, kind and extremely helpful.
Shabby rooms and poor service - I will not be staying there again. The curtains in my room were damaged and would not close fully. The first night, a handyman pinned them together to keep them closed. The next morning I reminded front desk staff that they curtains would need fixing during the day. Despite two requests to front desk, they were never fixed, nor even pinned together again. I had to push an armchair against the curtains to keep them closed for the night, and still they gaped and therefore let in light from 5am. I intended to advise front desk of my disappointment about this on checkout, but not once was I asked how my stay was. On the previous occasions when I had asked for the fix, nobody apologised. The staff seem disinterested in their guests. I was then charged for internet after checkout, despite it being included on my rate. The process of charging my credit card was a mess too, with multiple different charges for random amounts put through and not correlating directly to charges on the receipt, making it complicated to reconcile expenses.
Location. Right on Union Square, the W is convenient for East Village and businesses on Broadway. The bed was comfortable too.
Great location ,big rooms
the cleaning of the room was not really accurate the studio was supposed to be for three but my daughetr has had to sleep on a small coach
staff, location, comfort
The location while convenient is always a crowded hot mess. Not the hotels fault but yuck to the crowds.
Air con. Water in lobby offered after a hot dusty day in the city
Clean, fun, centric
Tip built into bar tab.
Location and room. Desk man was helpful in getting us a room with a view.
expensive. OK for work travel, but not in my budget for personal travel.
perfect location (near business and fun such as ABC Home), super cool property (loved even the elevator lobby), the room was outstanding and huge bathroom.
Good location and excellent service
You have to pay for wifi, I really don't understand why high level hotels ask you to pay for it.
No free wifi in the guest rooms.
The room was large and comfortable. Easy access to taxis and the subway. Two blocks walking to 5th avenue. Very helpful staff. We will certainly stay again.
I couldn't open the window, and there was no exhaust fan in the bathroom, so humidity was horrible inside the room. There is no place to sit quietly in the reception, as all reception is shared with their bar. THEY CHARGE YOU EXTRA FOR INTERNET IN 2014!! Internet should be free.
The location. Just across the park, and the subway station. Very easy to get everywhere. The room was big, nice and comfortable, with some lovely details.
the male concierge on easter day was very rude there was a half eaten yogurt in our frig which we asked to have removed three times and it was never removed, but they did move us to a nicer room because of it!
the manager was very pleasant
