Loved the friendliness of staff and those who stay there. Always have great time. There is free internet at the hostel, but if you need to use a computer, there is the Internet Cafe with VERY reasonable rates there as well. Best hostel in Honolulu BAR NONE! Nothing there NOT to like...everything great.

Meeting with people from all over the globe. 99% friendly, cant get lonely here when traveling alone. Everyone is included. Superb location in Waikiki. literally a 2 minute walk to the beach. Paid parking nearby if needed and free parking if you can find it within a few blocks. Easy access to public transportation to get out of the city. I am a little older than the majority at a hostel (54) but felt included, kind of important in a coed 8 sleeper room. But then, hostels and the global traveling crowd are usually cool. bunk beds could be bolted together better. Just a breath could bring them to the floor and wake up your room mate. We were running out of light bulbs and places to steal them. Building was out of stock. Continental breakfast after 9am? A little late for me. So I never saw it.

The always present staff was extremely helpful when called upon. Everything in the room worked as it should and was kept clean. I felt no need to lock up my things, although it was available. The crowds in the lobby were a little roudy late in the evening down in the courtyard. The staff did put a stop to it but it's just the nature of a hostel in Waikiki I guess:)

Close to the beach. Wifi worked in our room on the 4th floor We were 3 girls travelling together and Asked to stay in the same room and we booked 5 months in advance. Still when we checked in, one of us has to sleep in another room. If we had known this, we Would have chosen a different Hostel. Also, we had been travelling for 30 hours and were very tired, and There were 3 people sitting in my bed, having a party. We ended up sharing two beds on 3 people instead.

Hostel is close to the beach so big plus for that! We booked 4 bedroom semi-private room but end up in 8 mixed dorm because they didn't have our room available...So if you book yr room make sure u call them before to confirm that they will have it! As for the young people hostel very loud. Not very clean, you have to pay extra if you want to leave your luggage after check-out. Noisy! Only 4 lockers per 8 beds room (paid 25c each opening). Nothing special!

Friendly atmosphere, helpful information provided on sheets at reception, 24 hour reception, interesting people to meet. Good lively vibe at night. Not just younger people there, some older ones too. Breakfast could be provided earlier - 9am - 10am is a bit late to get going.

Location The first dormitory was so small that there was No room even to put my suitcase,,the whole hostel needs serious updating the bathrooms where simply worn out, taps loose ,grouting dirty and lots of chipped tiles, please visit the hostel in New York ,Amsterdam st and 43rd, that's what bathrooms should be like. Would not stay at your hostel again...

Kind, resourceful, informative staff, relatively safe place, convenient I wish I knew what events were happening so that I don't have to be with many football fans, maybe I could be better accommodated and the other guests less rowdy at 2am

This is good for you if you don't care going sleep lately, because they're having parties till 3 am. - I had booked a bed in a 4-bed room for 4 nights, one month before I travel there. Surprisingly, when I got there for check-in I was told that there's no 4-bed room available and I have to go to an 8-bed room. - WIFI was in and out unpredictably. - One of the staff who's working at nights, use to walk in the rooms without knocking the door or ask for permission very rudely, while some were sleeping. - One they they posted a note on the doors that people have to evacuate the rooms because of bug control plans. And people should put their luggage 10 am- 6 pm and cannot enter their room for 8 hours. They charged us for that day completely.

The location was ideal. It was extremely close to the beach, cafes, restaurants and shops. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. Public transport was assessible and easy. There were no dramas with checking in and out. Staff organised a shuttle bus for me to take to the airport. The noise from outside was too much. You had to wait until after approximately 11:30pm, for the noise level to die down. There were no towels with the linen. I had to buy a beach towel, to use during my stay.

Everything! It's a city block from the pier where everybody of all ages congregated at 6pm - kids still boogie boarding - waiting for the sun to Plop! Into ocean like clockwork. I never got tired of it in the two weeks we were there. The water is so clean, also the streets of Waikiki. Great variety of shops and restaurants, from the cheap to the best. And the surrounding scenery! Wow! We took bus tours here, there and everywhere - visited Pearl Harbour and the Arizona Memorial - so moving, the Ho'omaluhia Botanical Gardens, so beautiful - and all the different birds. My friend (aged 70) walked up to Diamond Head from the hostel - she's used to hiking the Yorkshire Moors! Kudos to the bus services also! It was easy to use, loved the bus transfers and the facility of showing the name for the next bus stop - great for visitors not sure of where they were, also the notice that a request for a stop had already been made. Notices pointing out seats/areas designated for the disabled were useful also. And passengers were very kind about offering seats to the elderly (us!) when the bus was full.

Staff were friendly and accommodating. For $27 a night you get a lot more than than just your moneys worth. It is for those who are travelling and is set up so you can meet new people. Events and the layout itself are designed for this purpose which is what makes the hostel a fun and exciting place to stay for the backpacker. If you intend to have a luxurious and quiet vacation do not use this for it is not the purpose of a hostel.

Great location, just a block away from the beach. The common space is nice, and free peanut butter and jelly (and coffee) for breakfast was also good. The staff were super helpful when we asked them about where to go for eating and drinking. Our 4 bed private room was spacious and a very solid deal considering it's smack dab in Waikiki. Definitely would stay here again. Nothing really.
