dirty smelly bedding that i had to wash myself after arriving. most uncomfortable bed I ever slept in.....mattress in desperate need of replacement.
The location and staffs
The room is okay. Very old and Need some major upgrade inside .
Location was amazing, also staff was very accommodating with room problems. Rooms are owned by individuals and rented by the front desk, so there is a HUGE variance on what the rooms are like, some barely livable, others are VIP class.
First room was bad and in back, talked to front desk and they moved us to a REALLY nice place in front that was well styled and comfortable. It did get really bright and load in mornings, but its not a problem is you're an early riser. House cleaning came ONCE in 5 days, and at 8:30am when we were obviously not able to turn the room over. They gave us new towels, but never cleaned or made up room during the entire stay
We do understand that some of the rooms in this hotel are privately owned. There was a huge support beam in the middle of the room, which made decorating a challenge.. The room was clean, however it was "tired". Unfortunately there was no cleaning service for the 3 nights we were there; clean on the fourth night. The AC was very loud and right next to the bed.
Well positioned between thepark and the highrise
Air conditioners on the floor? Virtually useless!
Friendly and helpful staff. The room was cheap. Good location directly across the street from the zoo and beaches. No need to rent a car unless you plan to drive around the island.
Refrigerator door fell off as soon as I got there. Beds hard, but the futon isn't so slept on the futon. Pics online are the oceanview room, room you get has cheap fall apart furnishings. They couldn't upgrade rooms cause they were all booked. All in all it worked for my budget and it was an ok stay.
2 mins from the beach, 5 mins from the main part of town - couldn't be better located! Wifi could be a bit patchy, there are about 10 different accounts you can log into - good news is that the hotel next door has a very good wifi connection and was often much better and could be picked up in my room!
Room was designed with TV far from bed and on top of a dresser. This made seeing the TV difficult and uncomfortable. A/C and outside noise level was very high.
Location is great at the South end of Waikiki and the receptionists were helpful.
Wifi was super weak in the rooms, and they didn't actually clean the room in the four nights I was there. Toilets were not great either.
Hotel is in a great location, rooms are nothing special but there is so much to do that you won't spend much time in the room. Wifi was good, there was parking underground for $17 per day. Kitchen fully equipped. The room has a/c. Some rooms have amazing views.
It could definitely be a lot cleaner!
Location was great, near Waikiki beach, and across the street from the zoo and the park. Our unit was quiet, and the bed was very comfortable.
The sofa was too uncomfortable to use, and it took up too much room. No other place to sit! Get a smaller sofa that is actually usable.
Location was excellent and convenient
Plumbing needs attention vanity sink plug would not operate
I had wifi problem in the last few days and told the front desk but did not change much and the a/c was pointed at the bed
The Waikiki Grand is in a great location and very convenient to beaches, shoppes and restaurants. The use of key codes is brilliant!
What I didn't like: *black mold in the bathroom *incredibly rude housekeeping staff *uncomfortable bed and pillows (I went out and bought my own pillow) *room cleaning every 3 days, I can live with that. The problem is that there is one tiny trash can in the bath room. Seems so strange. *wifi signals were weak in the room and essentially useless
I was trying to download something, but the wifi speed did not help at all. I would like to come back if the wifi speed get improved
Parking space was too tight.
Great location for the price and decent room. Rooms vary a lot in size so be aware it's an apartment/condo style building. Brent at the front desk was extremely nice and helpful
Fixtures in the room were old and some broken down. But, I didn't care cause I wasn't using the kitchen or stove anyways. For others, it may matter more
Location was ok, close to the beach, nice view from the upper deck of the beach and diamond head
Bed was horrible for price they could invest in a new mattress, fridge was broken replacement was nasty
Small room, hard bed
dirty greasy carpets holes in window drapery and they were painting outside our window first thing in morning
I liked that it was close to Honolulu zoo and the beach for my daughter.
I didn't like that water was leaking from the ac.There was a puddle on the floor my daughter almost slipped and hit her head.We called front desk and all they brought were towels..I don't ever see us staying again at that place.
