The staff were uninviting - especially the manager/owner. Facilities were outdated and worn. It wasn't hard to find dust and conwebs. Manager is inflexible - refused to open the gym 10 minutes early- then walked off, opened the gym and let other people in. Didn't even bother telling me he'd opened it whilst I waited patiently for it to open. I'd only go there on a need-to basis only

Bad breakfast, very cheap and without any variation at all. The internet connection is very bad: often inaccessible, slow, often breaks up so no calls with Skype possible. The rooms are small, complimentary coffee in the room is only provided for the first day, then you have to buy more at the front desk.

Great locaton, good value. Five minute walk to the beach, one minute walk to the bus stop for pearl harbor or Dimond head. This is not a fancy place, just a clean room for a fair price. The free breakfast was boring, but it was really just a bonus for staying there, and we found breakfast other places most days.

The food and service in the restaurant was great- rooms comfortable and affordable. Short walk to beach- beautiful view from balcony

Pool and spa were reasonable. Air conditioning was quite good. Close to Waikiki beach and International Market Place. Decent fridge.

Cramped (very) rooms. Poor internet connection which was described as wireless high speed. Basic breakfast, consisting of canned pineapple juice, pineapple, toast, tea and coffee. (web site stated croissants) No milk for tea just powdered coffee creamer. Bathroom tiles coming away from wall and ground, lack of shelf space in bathroom, no lid to cover toilet seat. Towel rack in bathroom mounted too low on wall and adjacent to the door so that on a number of occasions I entered the bathroom I struck my head causing bruising and headache. Booking was for 2 adults and accompanying child under 18, on check in they attempted to charge extra for our child (16 y/o). during the 6 night stay we had to repeatedly request a third towel for our child. No breakfast voucher for our child. Charge of $20.93 per day,which seems very high for a guest in a hotel of this calibre, for car parking with no self parking. Minor damage to rental car caused at some point during the car parking. Poorly defined smoking area, smoking is still legal and 25-30% of people still smoke. Appear to cater to one ethnic group to the detriment of others. This hotel appears to be quite run down and is in need of quite extensive renovation to bring it up to the standard of similarly priced hotels I have stayed in at other destinations.

It was a total package. We could eat, sleep, wash our clothes, have a drink, get on line and get into town or go to the beach

The worst thing was that there is only a valet parking. Something the (only) valet was out to get some cars and we had to wait 20 minutes. This is not something you want to do in vacations.

My room at the Waikiki Sand was clean and comfortable. The wifi was quick (although automatically disconnected me several times,) my view was nice, as was the staff at the front desk. I really appreciated the in room refrigerator and coffee maker as well. I would definitely return to this hotel to stay! Thanks!

We stayed in room 801 and the view was wonderful. The walk to the shopping and beach was great. Very lively area. I will stay there again.

Very decent hotel with all facilities needed for a good holiday. The location is perfect just 5 minutes walking to the beach and even less to the shops/restaurants. Also try the hotels restaurant, good quality and value for money!

Breakfast is very basic; toast, pineapple juice, some pineapple parts (out of a can) and coffee and tea. This is the same every morning and can definitely be improved.

Breakfast need major improvement. they only give one time courtesy coffee for your room, most hotels provide coffee on a daily basis.

The attendands were friendly, especially the front desk.

The breakfast as part of the room rate as well as the noise from the hallway as there was too big of a space under the door which noise from the hallway seeps through into the room.

The localization of this hotel is very good. It is closer to the main street, the beach and the restaurants.

There are only oriental guests, the room is poor and some employees are not very friendly.

If you rent a car, the hotel charges you about 20 a night for valet parking. There is no other parking available. So be warned.

Clean basic room which was convenient to beach and shopping district. The room we had on the 7th floor had great views up to Diamond Head and over the canal and golf course. Breakfast was basic and predictable but it was part of the fun of staying there and in the end I was looking forward to it. NIce swimming pool. Short walk to beach, shops and eateries.

The main road out front could get a little noisy in the morning with the locals driving to work. It was also the main drag for emergency vehicles so sirens were a frequent background.

The location is amazing, very closed to the Waikiki beach. It is also very clean. The breakfast is fine, nothing fancy, but I really did appreciate the fresh pineapple. It was totally worth the price.
