Loved the pools, the grounds are peaceful and relaxing. For a fussy sleeper the pillows were just right. We had a suite, perfect. Just what the doctor ordered. Liked the close proximity of the well appointed shops, 2 min walk. Great breakfasts, friendly staff, pool concierge's were knowledgable and genuinely friendly and helpful. Great views. Loved Maui, we'll be back!!!
If I had to pick on anything, it would be that there's too much seafood in the restaurants. I don't eat seafood, so ignore that. If you love seafood, come on down! Awesome.
Everything! The staff was helpful and friendly! The room was nice, and the view was Amazing! Pools were awesome and kid friendly. Love it!
The walking distant to the room, from the car to room.
Great hotel, clean rooms, beautiful area. Also very much appreciated: Starbucks on the area of the hotel and shops just next door.
It was the only Marriott (out of 3) on our Hawaii-trip were WLAN on our room was not free/complimentary covered by the resort fee. It truly is a great place to stay but this is not reasonable.
The staff were extremely friendly. :)
The food was a bit pricey and there were little critters in our room for 2 out of our 7 - night stay.
The hotel location, the view and the area.
Marriott Corporation does not give awards points for a stay at one of their hotel chains if the hotel is book outside of Marriott. I made the booking with Booking.com and received no award points. All other major hotels and airline award programs do. Contacted Marriott and the response was we don't give points unless booked through them. Booking.com needs to post this on their site. Very disappointed from a loyal Marriott customer.
The bed is comfortable and quite, the kids pool are fun, my children really enjoy it, the view in the property is very nice. And The food is good.
Well the day we arrive into our room the light at the bathroom has a water that coming out, literally dripping and the bulb to our silling by the head board mattress is blinking so my fiancé needs to take it off. The maintenance is fast to fix the bathroom problem.
Pools and location ate good
Fairly tired where we were got stuck in the lift and staff servicing rooms use lift all day so they are always blocked. Also the expectation regardless of a tip on high prices doesn't work
Laid back atmosphere, migrant restaurant, pools
Resort fee on top of bill, no free internet in rooms
Super nice, large rooms. Very nice staff. Really good restaurant in the hotel. Since it's not directly on the beach, it feels more secluded with little pedestrian traffic.
It's not on the beach. It's oceanside. So you get great views of the water, but you have to walk a little bit to get to the beach and the sand. The resort is huge and on many different levels = lots of stairs (depending on which level your room is on).
The view, the place, the staff very professional and friendly, the restaurants. The size of the room.
I was with my 15 years old daughter, we cannot access to the 'quiet' swimming pool because the minimum age requested is 18. It was a pity, as we were looking also to be around a quit pool in Maui. Water is very expensive.
Location to beach and natural surroundings
Very busy and crowded
Beautiful location. Stellar views. Convenient to shops and other resorts close by.
A lot of areas seemed a little neglected. Some of the resort buildings are showing their age and could use an upgrade in my opinion. Lack of easy access to beach was disappointing.
Very modern resort, great tranquility pool for adults. Great restaurants, Starbucks in the lobby.
No beach access. Staff unwilling to control rowdy guests at tranquility pool.
The friendly staff and it's location
++ perfect location + helpful and friendly staff
- staff messed up my credit card account by not releasing the (initially blocked) money when crediting the invoice
The location adjacent to Wailea shoppng centre and the cafe s there. The Maja cafe was great. The gym was excellent.
The hotel is old and it shows. Our room had shopping bags and 1 shoe on the floor under furniture !! on arrival. Not a good look No beach right there outside the resort
Location was good a the hotel was nice for the price and had a great time.
Maid walked in wife and I with out knocking. And the luau at Grand Wailea was much better than Marriott.
-At arrival and check in the person did not give a explanation of the resort facilities.e.g types of pools ect. - The expensive resort fee when it did not even include wi-fi in the room. -Food and beverage service at the pools was not not up to standard.Being told off for ordering food after ordering a drink and advising my wife and I that I should have ordered the food at the same time was rude. We had not made up our minds on food.
The view was very good and the pool that goes into the ocean
Everything was pricey it might have been better if they did half board or all inclusive which there was no option to do so.
Wailea is a great place where to rest and have fun. The hotel is very lucky to have been built here.
The room was dirty and dirty remained even after we talked about the problem with the staff. Everything is a cost (tax, resort tax and tax on taxes!). Wifi available only in the lobby, not in the room. Considering the total price paid, it really could be free. Great position, not worth the hotel.
The View and the adult pool. Starbucks Close to shopping
The rooms and hallway need to be remodeled badly
The location was perfect and the room was well equipped and laid out. The hotel layout was also well thought out for high traffic patterns. The staff was always friendly and appeared genuinely happy to be working there
I felt like I was being "nickeled and dimed" every time I turned around. We enjoyed the spa facility but felt they were quite pricey with it.
*The Beds were like sleeping on air. They were the most comfortable bed I have ever slept on. *For a large resort the pool areas were broken down into smaller more intimate areas it was not so overwhelming like the Fairmont, where it seemed like a sea of lounge chairs.*The kids had their own swim area. *Starbuck :) on the premises opens at 5:30 am. All Staff, the bellman provided us rides daily transportation to the Fairmont where our conference was being held. * Food, different restaurant choices. *The location to the Wailea shopping plaza. it's a 3 minute walk you can get groceries, and keep them in your fridge, T shirts and many choices for souvenirs, and if you need a Hawaiian shirt or a dress for an event this mall can cover it from ABC, to the GAP. The beach walk connected many hotels. Although the hotel did not have a private beach a public beach was just a minute down the beach walk. *The two person Hammock to layback and catch a quick nap.*This review was written by Brian's wife
*Starbucks closes at 5 p.m :(, You had to pay for the Cabanas, The price for services at the spa were very pricy plus they included a 20% service fee. Sorry but I can't think of paying $165 for a massage plus a 20% fee and considering paying a tip for exceptional service. This review was written by Brian's wife.
Liked the location and area.
Premium view wasn't real premium. Could have gotten same view with a partial ocean view for much less. They did move us after the first night, but I felt we overpaid for our first night.
Really, I liked everything; next time, I'll take the family on vacation and stay at least a week.
