It's proximity to Union Square and transportation Dirty! Dirty! Dirty! And the faucets stay on...we spoke to several other guests who said their faucets ran so I cannot imagine how much water is wasted daily. The furniture is old. The bed was uncomfortable. It was very noisy from traffic and club goers across the street-even our room off the side alley did not buffer the noise. The most disturbing thing was how dirty the walls were; the bathroom walls, vanity and toilet had tons of dirt and grime built up; and our comforter had stains all over it---no discount in room price can make up filth.

The hotel is perfectly situated for all the central city shops, tram, buses etc and within easy walking distance of Chinatown, Nob Hill, and even to Fisherman's Walk - if one is energetic. The staff are extremely courteous and were very helpful in giving advice on how to reach certain destinations that we wanted to visit. We were also able to book excursions through the reception staff. My only gripe was the fact that $17,000 was charged to my account on the second day of our visit, in error. This was flagged up by my credit card company. There was also another $1,000 plus added which I queried - both were refunded. I shall be checking my credit card account carefully next month. I have however been advised by the Warwick Hotel that the amount of $2,158 is the correct amount and will be charged to my credit card company.

In a good position for shopping, trams and buses for touring the city and Fisherman's Bay area. Free internet service. I was surprised by the bedding. We had a sheet with a hole in it and it was very worn, also the blanket inbetween the two sheets had a hole in it. the four poster bed was fine in its self.

Great location and walkable distance to all attractions-even Fisherman's Wharf which is a do-able 30min walk. Excellent shopping and lots of places to eat. The hotel offered free overnight shoe shining which was great as we'd just come back from Canada and the snow, so our shoes needed some TLC. The room is large and the bed was very comfortable. No coffee making in the room, although they have a free coffee service in the lobby b/w 4-5pm, however I think most people would be out sightseeing at that time?

Staff at check-in counter very friendly and helpful I live in Korea and sent an email to the hotel asking for directions from the San Francisco airport. I had to write three emails before I received a response. The response was to take the bart (subway) from the airport and the hotel was four blocks. I had to write another email saying I was not familiar with bart or San Francisco. I asked if the hotel was at the end of the bart subway line and if Taxicabs would be available. I finally received the information I had been seeking. I was told after getting on the bart subway at the airport I should get off at the powell Street exit (which was not the end of the line). The email continued with detailed instructions on how to walk from the subway station to the hotel. Prior to our arrival it was so difficult getting requested information out of the staff, I wondered if we had made a mistake booking the Warwick. Once we arrived the staff was great and my misgivings went away.

Location and plenty of hot water The first impression of the hotel was dark and dismal, the rooms although clean needs a good refurb as all the bedding and curtains are in a very worn condition. The top cover on the bed was full of holes When trying to pay by cash it seemed to be a problem, they had to bring someone else to deal with the cash and we had to wait an age not what you want when you`ve just had a 12 hour flight

I loved the old-style, European feel of the room. It was one of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in, in a hotel, and the sheets were superior quality and comfort. Though it's basically old-fashioned, the hotel is not musty or run-down. The staff at the front desk were extremely friendly and helpful, at all hours of the day or night. I had experienced a minor fall and was clearly in a lot of pain. They were very concerned, even called my room to be sure I was all right. This was all above and beyond their duties.

The staff were only too happy to help when they could. The room we recieved initially was a smoking room and everything seemed dirty and smelly making the charming vintage look seem just old not classy.
