That I had to ask for hypoallergenic pillows twice and only got one pillow
Location is good - Right besides Dupont Circle, lot of bar and restaurants around and 15 mn walk from the white house and Georgetown
The whole place is being refurbished (I stayed in end of October 2014) impacting guests massively. The breakfast in the morning is more a pic-nic than anything else, with guests sitting where they can (when they're lucky to find an available armchair/chair). The staff could not care less. Pretty disappointing. Also, the whole hotel is a bit old-fashionned overall, very dark and again the quality of the staff is very irregular.
I come here since 1994 and the senior staff is still the same. This tells you something! Very professional and nice personnel; comfortable rooms (value for money); reliable WIFI connection
Refurbishment while the hotel is open; therefore: Breakfast room is in no-daylight lobby But: With reopening in 2015, all the will come to an end
I enjoyed my stay at this hotel it was a great location for everything I needed, the staff were friendly and the rooms clean and comfy.
Only one small thing, I wish there had been a mini fridge in the room, so I could store milk and drink in it.
The room was clean and comfortable. The location for me was excellent.
There was a certain price announced with complimentary wifi but while checking in I was asked for additional surcharge for wifi and other expenses in addition to the taxes (which by going back to the print out I saw in small print). It was unwelcomed surprise. Also the breakfast restaurant wasn't working and they set up a place at the lobby which wasn't adequate at all.
That i had to pay extra for wifi even if i did not have a choice in the matter
The location was very good for us to use Metro and go see the sites. It also felt we were in safe neighborhood.
The elevators were very slow and only 1 worked. Breakfast was very limited. The cost of the room was very high for what we got. Room very small.
I feel that customers should not be charged for internet and long distance calls that they don't use or make. We were charged over $9.00 for internet and long distance even though we did not make any long distance calls because we have our cell phone or use their internet because internet is on our cell phone. What a rip off!!!
Great location by the metro. Many great restaurants in the Dupont circle area.
It would have been nice to have more items for breakfast buffet. Like eggs ad bacon.
We booked through booking.com, we arrived at 330pm, half hour after check-in. We went through two people who attempted to find our reservation. They questioned me if I had ever even booked the reservation. Finally they said they had a room for us, which I had paid for the superior king room and that's what they charged me for. Little did I know that they booked me in the queen, a room of lower value, but still charged me for the king size room. Finally got that straightened out. If you get hungry during your stay the only option for you is to order take-out and if you want something to drink don't count on getting bottled water from the ONE vending machine at the hotel. Just wish the hotel had better service. SO much potential.
you have to pay 50 dollars as caution in case you destroy their amazing fornitures: it's crazy!!! and I'm not sure they will give me the money back...I'll see...
Location was outstanding. Breakfast in lobby was convenient.
Took over 30 minutes to check in and close to 30 minutes to check out. Alarm clock in room went off at 5am because staff hadn't checked to make sure it was off. Room décor was worn and stained (lampshade, wallpaper, etc). TV was from the 1990s. COlleague's room had no hairdryer and when she called down to ask for one, no one brought one.
The free breakfast and fitness machines.
My room (313) was extremely small. It looked as if it was a larger room but was rehabbed to half it's size. I could see holes on the wall that were patched up poorly. The bed was against the wall and there was no desk or closet. Not worth the price of the room.
Nice roof terrace which was hardly used by residents. Staff excellent and seemed to go out of their way to help
breakfast was not kept re-filled
The location was perfect, great breakfast selection.
They were remodeling and the hallway floors were bare concrete, it was very dusty. Room should have been discounted to deal with that.
Of course the price was reasonable for the area.
The bottom of the bathroom door showed some wear. According to placard on the wall there was supposed to be an ice machine on the 5th floor but there was not. There was on the 3rd floor however and it worked good.
perfect location near subway, first class beds, very clean, nice and helpful staff
the price is much too high and the breakfast was rather ridiculous: hardly any choice of food and drinks (bread, bagels, butter, prefab cream cheese, prefab jam, prefab muffins, one juice, no eggs nor ham nor choice of cheeses ...watery coffee and tee) not enough space to sit, one way plastic plates, cups, spoons and knives like in a 50$ joint, elevators were not to trust (but there was construction work going on)
Good location Courteous staff
Doors have spaces underneath, so you hear everything going on in the hallways, adjoining rooms Elevator issues
Good continental breakfast
More expensive than I would have expected.
We arrived early to the hotel and they were very nice about holding our bags for the day. Our room was ready when we came back and despite the fact that they were going through a remodel- the only downside was a longer than usual wait at the elevator. Great location near metro and restaurants.
The seating was a little tight at breakfast- we could have used a few more tables.
Great position. Walking distance from Dupont Circle. Cleaned.
We couldn't sleep very well because of the noise in the room next to us. We complained with the staff but they didn't solve the problem. No windows in the bathroom.
The location was perfect though walking distance from DuPont Circle
They are doing rennovations so it was loud banging and construction during the day. They don't have room service or available water in the room. You're definitely on your own.
Helpful staff helping with bags etc Location is very good
Reception staff just incompetent. Key only programmed for two days not five. Took ages to check in, only one working, they only have two stations. Breakfast a laugh, 7am, but at 7.30 still putting out cereal etc, and no seats people were standing trying to eat. Business men in suits were complaining. I know they are renovating but could make more of an effort. Room not serviced one day. Also no glasses in room, asked for glasses for bathroom, was given wine glasses
there was no water for coffee
Good beds, very quiet, nice rooftop bar and pool. I'd stay there again in a minute. Great neighborhood with really good restaurants at walking distance. Half a block from the Metro.
Slow elevators. So-so breakfast.
