The wifi wasn't great. But I have my own portable hot spot so that is never the biggest problem. While I loved this location, many travelers that don't walk as much as I do may find this a bit off the beaten path. It's a several minute walk to the nearest Red Line, Metro Station.
The staff was very friendly. The neighborhood is lovely. The hotel is in the middle of many Embassies. There were several Starbucks and good selection of restaurants nearby. I'd stay at this location again.
Hotel was far from public transportation and far from attractions and restaurants which meant expensive taxis were needed. Early morning trip to White House meant fighting for cab during rush hour.
Room was clean, towels fluffy. The staff very friendly. In room refrigerator was handy.
My mate said that the cabinet behind the mirror was rusty all-over, but I never bothered to check
I liked the bed, bathroom was clean, Wi-Fi didn't give me problems
Breakfast could be improved with fresh fruit and eggs.
Close to major conference hotel. Free computers in lobby. Staff very nice. Felt safe. Breakfast a plus. Near Safeway. Microwave, fridge, good bed and lots of TV channels.
Out dated infrastructure, ratty looking old carpets. Poorly soundproofed and doors slammed loudly. Free breakfast consisted of baked goods and cereal, no protien or fruit.
Rooms were clean and bug free, good natural lighting. Staff was friendly but not pushy, hotel was far enough away from downtown to avoid late night noise but close enough to walk tto metro station.
HVAC inflexibility. It's either heat during fall and winter, or AC during spring and summer. It so happened that it was cool during the April 13 week that I was there, and wanted to warm up the bathroom in the morning, but there was no heating available.
Location and friendliness of the staff
All is well!
The hotel's very affordable room price and location being near the subway, beautiful room, hearty breakfast served and friendly staff all made our trip in D.C. a very memorable pleasant one!
The hotel mgr. Was very rude and chased after me out of the hotel cussing at me because I asked about the parking around there.
Didn't like anything about the staff or hotel.
The hotel was dirty. The stairway looked like it hasn't been cleaned in months! The carpet in our room was dirty, the control for the heat were filthy. Staff came to repair outlets in our room and left trash on our belongings.
Front desk staff was friendly. In a very safe area. DuPont Circle is a delightful trendy area with retaurants, coffee shops and nice shopping!
No coffee mach. in room. Temp. control is calendar controlled.
Only 1 bridge away from bus stop & restaurants, add a block to the metro station. Even a market & CVS. The continental brkfst refilled every 15 mins.
Everything was a little too old. The lamp switches are loose, and it takes a while to turn them on. We wish we had fruit in breakfast.
The bed was nice.
First room had one saggy mattress. After 2 nights of bad sleep we asked to switch and they found a vacant suite on the same floor, happily switched us. Breakfast could use some fruits and protein - was all muffins/cereal/bagels/pastries. One caution! There is longterm construction across the street starting at 7 AM daily, so if you like sleeping in bring earplugs or get a room away from the street.
Size of rooms was good and staff was friendly and very helpful. This is an older, low-key hotel so if you like generic upscale chain hotels this is not for you. A bit on the funky side, but perfectly functional, and in a nice neighborhood but right on Connecticut, 10 minutes walk from Dupont Circle Metro.
Staffs are very friendly and considerate.
Our cable went out at 10pm
Friendly, helpful staff. Awesome breakfast
Booked room for 2 adults + 2 kids on booking.com. Hotel assigned us a room with one queen bed. Bed was unmade, room was not cleaned from prior guest. The hotel did remedy the situation.
Friendly staff. Nice location.
I first got a very dark room (one window, nearly blocked so barely any light/air got in) with two beds. The bedlinen of one was full of hairs. Moreover the glass covering the bedside table was all stained and sticky. The room was extremely warm and even though I turned off the heating I could not get any sleep because it did not cool off. When I reported all this no one apologized, they just said they would look into it, nevertheless when I asked to get another room they instantly moved me. The breakfast was rather poor. Finally, I cannot get over the fact that many hotels in the US use styrofoam plates and cups, and plastic cutlery. What a waste!
Once I moved to a new room it all improved: plently of light, very clean room, the heating could be turned off and air got through the window... It is located in a nice area.
The room is kind of small to fit two adults and two kids.
The breakfast is pretty decent.
Room size, parking, just overall accommondations. Too expensive for the lack of service.
free wifi friendly and helpful staff safe neighbourhood 10 minute walk to nearest metro underground station within walking distance (45 mins) of national mall close to bars and restaurants on 18th street or at dupont circle extensive tv channels
It is close to all the eateries.close to transportation.
Staff was very nice.
Room next door was in and out of their room all night. Absolutely astounding how much noise was made. Paper thin walls and old doors made for a near sleepless night. A few times I actually thought they were trying to come in my room.
A bit worn out.
The value for money is outstanding; I believe this is the best you could get in DC for the price. The hotel does look old, but the location is excellent (metro just across the bridge). Breakfast is simple but filling.
Rooms dark as windows very dirty All wood in room - doors/skirting boards needs painting as makes rooms look very drab
Very comfortable bed Good choice for breakfast although should also provide some fruit/yoghurt as too many bread options Friendly and helpful front desk staff Good location with many restaurants only 5 mins away in both directions Close proximity to metro Clean, safe neighbourhood
