Very good location -- Close to the Federal Triangle
Only 2 hour parking?
Easy location to access many sites and most forms of transport Free Wi-Fi and breakfast and boiling water throughout the day
Banging doors and creaking floors
There was a lot of noise in the hotel at night which stopped me sleeping, then I was woken with the smell of smoke and it was the room next to me and the residents were smoking in the room Very disappointing!
,Clean and cozy quiet and not crowded
lack of eating facility; very poor breakfast; no lounge and bar; no newspapers
Good location near DuPont Circle in quiet street. The hotel itself was also quiet with an old fashioned "guest house" feeling which made it relaxing and without the hustle of a big hotel lobby. For all that, the reception desk is still manned 24 hours a day.
Breakfast area too small, with additional seating in a boardroom style set up along a corridor at the opposite end of the building.
Pretty area. Lots of embassies.
Filthy. The ice box dispenser had mold in it. The soap trays, doorknobs, crud on the bathroom floor had not been cleaned before we arrived or during our visit. Bathroom had no ventilation and no window. Old hair dryer the hotel provided looked like it was going to blow any time. Few electrical outlets.
Reasonable location (10 mins walk from Dupont Circle) Good, free WiFi
Terrible choice at breakfast Room could do with updating
we can an upgrade suite , no additional cost
the decoration a little old
Large insect in room. Lack of cleanliness. Poor toilet flush. Old carpet needing cleaning.
This hotel provided me with everything I needed and nothing extraneous. Super clean, quiet, comfortable, good location, plenty of room. The building is older, so the bathroom is not large/luxurious but practical/efficient. The staff is helpful without being intrusive. Continental breakfast is modest but plenty to get you started on your day. I like the charm of an older building and the surrounding neighborhood is beautiful. National Zoo and two Metro stations are within walking distance, as are several interesting shops and restaurants. I highly recommend this property.
It was a beautiful and peaceful atmosphere!!!!!!
Quite area, but everything you may need is close: bars, cafes, bicycles, shops is just 5-10 min by walk. We use bicycles to get to the sightseeings - it was very convenient for us. Clean room, breakfast is typical for USA: just biscuits, corn flakes, jams, tea/coffee. Big plus - hot water is available 24 hours at the first floor. Helpful staff, shared area with computer.
Friendly staff Good location; easy walking distance to red line metro stations
Bed was extremely uncomfortable Very old building and cheap amenities
Sheets not staying fitted to the mattress. Blinds letting in too much light. Door letting in too much light. Tiny bathroom. Tired decoration.
Room smelled musty and wet.
no coffe or tea available before breakfast - water was there but no cups or teabags, problematic if you wake up jetlagged at 4am.
Could have used soem new paint on the walls.
Hotel was 5 minutes from the bus stop which got you close to most attractions, and a 15-20 min walk to the train station Dupont Circle. We were a family of 4 with a corner room with 2 double beds in one room and a sofa which accomodated 2 in the next room. It was very generous and spacious! Breakfast was good but some yoghurt and fresh fruit would have been a nice addition. The fridge was great.
The TV was old and we could only get Wifi in the TV/sofa, not the main bedroom. The bathroom was a bit tight for space.
Lack of parking
The central location of this hotel made access easy to many sightseeing attractions and daily tours. The staff were helpful.
The creaking wooden floors and the bedroom doors that had to be banged to get closed - disrupting one's sleep.
A cute hotel. Comfortable beds. The Internet is fine.
A bit dated. Needs some modernizing. Not enough seats in the breakfast area, and the breakfast itself is quite basic. The breakfast hours are 6:30 to 9:00 on weekdays, which is just brutal (we're on vacation, people!) 10-15 minute walk to the nearest metro station.
For a very old building it was extremely clean and met all basic last minute travel needs.
No dedicated parking available. Street parking only with 2 hr limit 7am to 7pm.
great stuff good breakfast everything is working and clean
Very quiet area good location
Must improve their brekfast
