The experience was "fine" - nothing special to speak of, but decent value for a reasonable price. Rooms had plenty of space, internet connection was reliable, and the room had a small fridge. The front desk offered to move me to a new room on the second night, which was better.
The room I had on the first night was on the first floor, and felt a little stuffy because the window opened to a small alleyway. The second night I stayed on the 3rd floor which was much nicer.
Bed very comfortable
I liked that the associates went out of their way to try and help me with directions, were caring about why i was in town (for rare diseases legislation input), and that the room was clean.
I really didn't like not having a personal mini coffee maker in my room or that i could not obtain coffee until 6:30 am. I need coffee first thing in the morning and a small 4 cup coffee maker or even a coffee vending machine dispenser or curig type of machine in the vending area would have made it perfect!!
Hotel was clean, no issues with the wifi. TV had HBO
the room was so dark it was impossible to tell night from day. There was static electricity all over the place and one the lights didn't work
If you're looking for a NO frills, warm, safe place to sleep and shower, this place is fine. There was no visible dirt. The staff is friendly and helpful. Although, there are no smoking signs everywhere, you could clearly smell cigarettes in the halls and in the room.
Wifi is fast
Location is not good. Breakfast is all about bread and cookies, we need eggs and sausage! Room is very cold and the window cannot be opened. The room is dark all day. Sales machine had no water...
There is a small kitchen on the first floor, you got hot water conveniently. And the location is very good!
Noisy guests in room next door-paper thin walls.
I stayed at the Windsor Park while attending a conference in one of the large hotels near the Woodley Park metro. The proximity of the hotel to the conference hotel was very good, and I appreciated the low key atmosphere and relative quiet of the hotel. Although the breakfast was basic, it was appreciated.
The furnishings and rugs are a bit tired.
The hotel is close to bus stops and metro: in less than 30 minutes you can reach the city center. It is clean, and it is not expensive. It is a good choice for a short stay in Washington.
No restaurant in the hotel.
The staff The location My room
The decoration of the stairs (it was a bit sad), and the view I had during my journey (I had a view to the neighbour though I was supposed to get a view to the city...
Usually I go only to 4 or 5 Stars hotels, this time I thought why not try a 2 Stars Hotel. I am really impressed, I dont see a big difference, it is really nice and I would definetly come back.
Worth for price
Easy to book, helpful and friendly staff, elegance on a budget. Good buffet breakfast. Near to Dupont Circle Metro. Only 25 minutes walk from hotel to the White House. Nearby D.C. open-top tour bus with 4 interconnecting routes to see most of the city.
Breakfast times could be extended to 10.00 at week-ends (or 09.30 in weekdays). Hot beverages during the day might be a good idea (at a cost). But these are small matters compared to the overall advantages of this relaxiing well run establishment.
Location is good.
The hotel is a bit dated. Pretty old machines.
excellent management excellent staff
Location and good valie
Wifi poor in our room.
Cheap room rate, great location, room was quiet.
Old hotel, furniture and decor is old and worn down. Rooms are small, bathrooms even smaller due to old floorplan design. Creaky floors. Old blinds and curtains. But, it's cheap! What do you expect? Will stay again.
Location is excellent, 10 minutes walking from Dupont Circle and the lively Adam's Morgan neighborhood. Very good wifi, cable. Room was spacious, good closet spacE.
There are two sets of stairs, first to get into the building and then to the elevator. I had two heavy suitcases and no staff volunteered to help me get them up. The hallway smelled like someone had been smoking. Finally, breakfast was disappointing, I don't eat wheat and the only options were bread, danish and muffins. I asked if they had fruit, yogurt or eggs, but they were not accommodating and I had to go grab breakfast somewhere else.
This hotel is within a 15 minute walk from Dupont circle and is significantly less expensive than many of the hotels there. It is in a lovely quiet area and is clean and efficiently run. Currently, there is some construction going on near the hotel but it did not seem to cause much noise or inconvenience.
The sound proofing is not great so you can sometimes hear your neighbors above you.

Limited breakfast made up almost entirely of wheat-based products. Impossible to eat there if you have food allergies. It was a bit cold in the rooms (very old heating system)
