Location for the price was excellent, train is close by and very easy to walk to, area around hotel was very safe and many places to eat shop, would definitely would stay there again
Hotel was a little outdated, wifi was at a minimum,
Decor was old
- breakfast was good - staff was nice and helpful - room was comfortable
- we weren't able to turn off the air conditioning at night so it was very cold - TV dosn't work
Desk staff were pleasant and generally helpful. Breakfast was dull, but acceptable. Towels were very nice, as was shower.
Room supplies were an issue: had to ask for ice bucket liner, had to ask for toilet tissue, and no tissues. Bathroom had no place for toiletries and needed hook behind door.
Nice, friendly staff
We got dark room for the first night, but they gave us other one for the second
Nice neighbourhood. Close to restaurants, supermarket, bus route to down town. Hotel was old but had as nice atmosphere. Breakfast was a plus.
A bit more fruit at breakfast would be nice.
People thare so good and good price
Construction across street Such a challenge with parking, having get up early morn to move car
Proximately to metro bus & trains
Small room size, poor mattress quality, no ventilation in bathroom old fixtures throughout. had to ask for additional pillows and towels which were poor quality. would not return to this hotel
location and price were good, nice breakfast
room was small windows were dirty, some areas had a musty smell
The location and the cost
The rooms were dark and dingy, carpets were stained, made one wonder about the cleanliness of the spreads on the beds
the room was big and cozy with nice lights the bed was comfortable the house keeping was great the airconditioning was very silent
the parking was bad location right in between two metro stops: 8 minute walk
Reasonably priced and a good standard for the money. Our room was nicely prepared and had a homey feel. Around 10 minutes walk to the subway and an interesting range of restaurants. Breakfast was included which added to the convenience.
While it was great breakfast was included, there wasn't enough room in the breakfast area most mornings and the choice was dominated by sugary/unhealthy baked goods. There seemed to have been a message left for us on the hotel phone system but we couldn't access it. After asking for help this seemed to be a known issue and it was suggested it was an error.
Very nice staff, clean room and wonderful location next to zoo.
We were put on the "sunny side" where security lights kept the room brightly lit from outside which made it difficult to sleep. We were awakened by a fire alarm on the second night and later by young college students. Not much sleep. An investment in some good drapes would go a long way...
Cleanliness Close to DC attractions Close to restaurants WIFI Cable TV
Staff at checking was a little rude Staff who came to check cable made a rude comment
Amazing neighborhood - Embassy Row Quaint exterior Didn't have room we requested so upgraded to a suite
No parking - had to find own on side of the road Fire alarm went off in middle of night - took awhile for staff to turn off Only bread, cereal, coffee and juice for breakfast With good management, could capitalize on location and make this a much more desirable place
Very helpful and nice staff
A bit far from both the subway stations. Especially if traveling with heavy luggage.
No convenient parking. Had to park some distance away on the street. Thin walls and ceiling resulted in quite loud toilet flushing and shower noise.
In the poor part of DC. And they never said construction was going on around us.
Super friendly staff went above and beyond. Spacious comfortable rooms, good amenities. Historical property had a lot of charm. Beautiful old building in a lovely neighborhood.
My only complaint about this location is the lack of parking. I had to park several blocks away and I was worried about my car. The many foreign embassies in the area, while beautiful, have very strict rules about when and where you can park. There really isn't a good parking option anywhere close by. But if you're traveling without a car, I can really recommend Windsor Park Hotel.
Receptionist/concierge was superbly helpful. Everything was clean, and the WiFi was easily accessed.
Rooms were small; even the elevator was small. We both thought at the same time that this was like staying in a two-star or older three-star hotel in Paris, just from consideration of the small space. No counter space in the bathroom, just a sink and a shower/tub. A/C was a bit noisy.
Location was fantastic. Could walk to everything and this area of DC if beautiful with older buildings, greater places to eat, zoo and close to subway. Linens were clean and the hotel was quiet. Front desk very accomodating.
Old AC in each room. But it did work fine.
ok price and comfort. nice folks.
poor wifi reception
Wifi didn't reach into bedrooms. Had to use in front room only. Even after changing rooms we had the same problem. Our first room had broken a/c, no toilet seat, squeaky cheap metal furniture. 2nd room was better but this is very much a budget hotel. Know that there is no convenient restaurants. You will need to walk at least 10 mins to find food or stores of any kind. This is a residential area. The zoo is about a 25 min walk. The busses only run during rush hour and the metro is also a 10 min walk.
It was a great location - close to Dupont Circle and all the fun cafes, bars and restaurants in the area. The staff was helpful and friendly. The place was clean and for the location it was totally worth the price.
Breakfast was okay but I'm happy they even offered it! Parking is easy if you get there in time to find a spot. If not you'll have to drive a bit to find something.
