This is our second stay at this hotel. It has a great location in the east village from where one can walk to restaurants, banks, shops and other attractions. It is on washington square, a good place to relax and people watch. It is also within walking distance of little italy and china town and the nearest metro station is about 100 meters away. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the complementary continental breakfast is good. In summary this hotel represenst good value for ny and we would stay here again. The only problem some people might encounter is the lack of closet space and space for luggage in the rooms. However this is minor when compared to the positive aspects described above and is often encountered in older city centre hotels.

A lovely small hotel in a great location adjacent to Washington Square. Very clean and comfortable. Mario Battali's restaurant Babbo is across the road. Only one minor complaint - the overcrowded breakfast room - hard to find a space to sit in the morning.

Our room, which was on the raised ground floor, was very noisy. We could hear conversations in the lobby and a jazz band from somewhere nearby until 2:00 am. The coffee machine in the room did not work. We asked to move to another room on a higher floor and were given a room on the fourth floor already inhabited by another guest, who was very annoyed when we entered with our key. We were finally given a room on the 6th floor and it was fine; quiet and comfortable and everything worked. The Location was the best thing about the hotel.

The great thing about this hotel and what makes it unique is its excellent location. I didnt see anyother hotels around Greenwich village. The hotel is easy walking distance to a wide variety of cafes and restaurants and across the road from the park. The subway is about 100 metres away. On the downside the hotel is quite a no frills environment, breakfast was adequate but nothing special and the rooms are on the small side. These are all definately worth bearing for the location in Greenwich Village.

The room was incredibly clean and the staff members were very friendly and helpful. The very best thing though is the great location. The room I had was tiny and very simple. I know it is a good value for nyc but it is still surprising to me how little you get for about $300.

The hotel was clean and comfortable and well designed for such small rooms and the staff were very friendly. Compared to other hotels in and near Manhattan, it was priced well. We also loved the restaurant!

This was our third visit. We love the location - near several subway lines, right on Washington Square. Easy walks to Soho, Greenwich Village, Chelsea and many other locations. Staff are generally great and the rooms are generally very comfortable. This trip, we encountered one less-than-helpful individual at the front desk. When we went to report that our room was sweltering despite the fact that we'd lowered the adjustment as much as possible, she suggested that we open the window. In January. Other alternative offered was to have the heat in our room turned off altogether. In other words, roast or freeze. It took the entire five-night stay with the window open all day and all night for the temp to come down to a comfortable 68 degrees. This person also suggested that we go around the corner to Staples when we asked if they could print boarding passes for us. I've never stayed at a hotel where that wasn't a standard service. Fortunately, others on the team were more accommodating. In fact, everyone else was great but she made it difficult to get anything done in the morning.

We LOVED this place! Saturday pm bellman/concierge was less than helpful. Asked if we needed a cab and basically did nothing. He told us to walk down a block which would have been no problem had it not snowed in the morning and the residual slush didn't mix with our evening shoes. Otherwise, the whole weekend was a huge PLUS!

All good. Unfortunately the bed wasn't made well so the sheets slipped at the bottom almost immediately. That was the only problem.

“The service was wonderful from the moment we walked in the door. Every question was answered with a smile and every request was responded to very promptly! The location is within walking distance of Greenwich Village, China Town, Wall street, Southside Seaport, 9/11 Memorial and the south ferry service. The subway entrance is across the street. There were great restaurants in the area too. We cut our motel bill in half and had a wonderful experience. This is a place I will definitely recommend to anyone looking for a great place to stay! ” William, Wauwatosa |
