Spacious accommodations, unfortunately we arrived very late and had to leave early, so we didn't really have a chance to use the space. Parking was close.
Somewhat dated, but fine. Free breakfast was adequate, but not as good as other places we have stayed. Housekeeping seemed to cut a few corners, but nothing worth writing about.
the room was very large.
The services provided were fantastic and great. i enjoyed staying there with my family. This will be my next home once i visited virgia - Alexandaria on my coming visits.
DINGY TOWELS (NOT ALL WERE) MISINFORMED ABOUT PAYING MY BILL WITH CREDIT CARD. PREFERRED TO PAY CASH.
Check-in was fast and easy. Beds was super comfy! Staff was pleasant.
It was raining and there are no side doors to go in to from the back parking lot. It wouldve been nice to have more bariety of pots and pans (skillet) to cook with
The beds were very comfortable and the room was spacious.
The hallways smelled very bad -- a mix of fish (or puke) and cleaning products. The breakfast did not include any fruit or protein (except for artificially sweetened low-calorie yogurts).
The location was only 1 mile away.
Breakfast offerings too limited. Only protein was a sugary yogurt. Had waffles, pastries & muffins. Parking was difficult. Had to park & walk a long distance at night.
mostly everything was great all my next trips to dc will be in this hotel
The price was right for the area, and the staff at the front desk were friendly.
The room smelled like mildew! There was a sign near the thermostat that said the entire hotel was either on heating or cooling mode. It was warm and humid and we wanted to turn on the air conditioner but couldn't (they were on heating mode) so we opened the windows (at the hotel's suggestion). There were smokers outside and a trash compactor near our room window and we were woken up several times during the night. The bathroom smelled like old cigar smoke. The kitchenette was clean but very dated and worn. When we opened the sleeper sofa there were crumbs and an old bottle cap under the cushion. We were booked for a whole weekend but checked out after one night.
Good value for the money. Pet friendly, very nice staff. Decent food in pub. Good location.
A bit run down. My suite could have used a facelift and there was a bit of water damage and mold on one wall in the bathroom. The place has a lot of potential so hopefully the minor cosmetics will be addressed.
The rooms were clean and the proximity to Washington dc is good. I have stayed here many times before.
Generally, front desk managers have been courteous, helpful and willing to accommodate reasonable request. This trip, however, the suite I was assigned was not what I have become used to at this hotel. The night manager was a bit inflexible and it took a lively discussion with her in order to change my room to a more appropriate one, which was available.
The suite was large, comfortable, clean and well maintained. The staff was friendly and helpful. The availability of the shuttle to take us to the train station and local restaurants was much appreciated. Breakfast was great.
This hotel has a large number of resident families with many small children who create unpleasant situations for guests. Upon check-in we were given a room next to one of these families where one of the children was kicking and banging on the door and screaming in an alarming manner. We were given a different room. There were children running up and down the halls at night. The most concerning situation is the children who play in the playground area at night. This is an area in front of the hotel where cars are coming and going all the time. The children run back and forth across the driveway, jump on guests' parked cars and in general create a very dangerous and uncomfortable situation.
shuttle to metro, pool
breakfast wasn't much to be excited about, noisy in hallways, a/c in two of the three rooms didn't work well
Noise! Noise! Noise! At 3 in the morning kids were running up and down the halls playing- they took money out of my account without asking me- I will never stay there again and will discourage anyone I know from staying there- the lobby smelled so bad - it was horrible!
The staff and the comfort
Desk staff was helpful about the area and friendly, room was large and clean, provided all additional amenities requested (extra pillows)
The breakfast staff was horrible. It was a buffet, which was perfect for a family to "grab and go" before heading to D.C. for the day. However, the woman running it was rude and literally would grab things out of our hands insisting that that we either "had too many" or she would "make our plate for us". Make-your-own waffles were not allowed because she "had to do it" --- which I'm assuming was her way of getting a tip, but it slowed down the line considerably and left other stations running out of fruit, juice, etc because she was so focused on waffle making. She even yelled at my daughter with special needs for "climbing on the counter" when in actuality she was just reaching for a bowl. She was caught in the lie after screaming at my daughter "Where is your mother?!" and I was standing right behind her. She was taken aback and did apologize, but this shouldn't have happened in the first place. This woman alone would be reason enough for me not to return to this hotel. Additionally, the noise level was ridiculous. There were many families with unsupervised children running around the hotel at all times of the day and no one said a word to them. They even were running up and down the 9th floor hallway at 3:00 in the morning two out of the five nights we were there. Inexcusable. I would have given the next level up in scoring for comfort and staff had it not been for these two issues.
We were given another suite for the last six days of our stay and it was great. We loved the kitchenette which was perfect for a family with a toddler. Location was great. We loved the family feeling at the hotel.
On our first night we were given the suite closest to the lobby on the first floor. This was horrible as young children were playing all night and the door to the office (?) next door was slamming ALL night. We did not sleep at all.
Room was wondereful: beds, kitchen, view, etc. super!
Suite, with a full kitchen. Free shuttle was great! As a whole it was an ok Place to stay and we'de likely stay there again if we are in the area.
Smokey restaurant made us not want to eat there, and we didn't. Poor open hours for the pool. Not very well cleaned.
Room was ok. Spacious but a bit dirty in the bathroom. The pool was nice.
There were tons of what must have been family and friends of the hotel owners constantly running around the hotel at all hours of the day and night. Playing hide and seek using the elevators and running rc cars in and outside if the hotel.
The room was spacious and clean.
Did not like the shuttle service we got. It was good in the morning to get to the Metro station, but at night service was spotty/poor.
Fairly clean, most staff was kind and friendly, nice pool, had a kitchen
No fan in kitchen or bathroom, room could have been cooler, a hot tub would have been nice.
The van driver was very courteous and friendly. Our room was cleaned each day, but the beds were not made (I.E. sheets were just thrown on and lumpy comforters just tossed on top) even when we got there...
The hotel was in fair condition. The smell of Arab cooking was overwhelming throughout the entire hotel. The free breakfast was very limited (like half of the quality of what you would find at a Hampton Inn) and the neighborhood was not one in which I would recommend taking a walk after dark.
Close enough to D.C. for sight seeing trips. Easy to get back and for from D.C.
Shuttle to Van Dorn metro stop. Suite was a good size and comfortable.
