Waterfront Hotel a Joie De Vivre Hotel  

Clean, spacious rooms & friendly staff.

Lovely position, comfortable beds, well equipped bathroom, excellent restaurant. The staff were friendly, professional and efficient. Nice to have windows which could be opened. Good pool area.

Very noisy both from outside and inside, upstairs, adjoining rooms etc. Insect screens should be installed on the opening windows

Worst hotel I ever stay around the world they scracht my car in the valet ... The manager was an asshole .... Racist I would not anyone to stay in that hotel sucks

Everything was perfect and clean and comfortable!

Sometimes you could hear more than you'd like to. However not bothering at all.

Our room faced the bay and the view of the sailing craft was spectacular. The hotel is at the edge of the Jack London Square, an area with upscale shops and restaurants. Also nearby is the ferry to San Francisco, I believe a BART station is also nearby. In summary an excellent hotel near shops, restaurants and public transportation. Next time we intend to take an AMTRAK train to the nearby station, then use the ferry and BART to move around.

The view is excellent. Also, their sheets & bath towels are superb. Nice people working there.

We were impressed with the friendliness of the staff. We especially enjoyed Andre. He was very efficient and knowledgeable. And his personality made us feel welcome.

Gut gelegen am Hafen von Oakland. Das Jack London Quartier bietet viele Restaurants und Bars, auch ein grosses Kino ist in der Nähe oder Chinatown. Die Zimmer sind sauber und grosszügig. Die Aussicht ist nur in ganz wenigen Zimmern auf das Hafenbecken. Mit der Fähre (2min vom Hotel entfernt) erreicht man die San Francisco Piers und die Mainstreet in 25 Minuten, ohne Stau und Brückenzoll. Das Hotel ist empfehlenswert!

Frühstück im hauseigenen Restaurant überteuert und karg. Das Continental- Breakfast für $12.-- beinhaltet nur Kafee, Orangensaft, Toast, Muffins, Yoghurt und Cornflakes. Eier kosten $3.-- extra.

Habitaciones comodas. Personal muy amable y ejecutivo. Inserto en un sector agradable, pero reducido.

Se escucha mucho ruido del exterior.

Apart from the great beds, the hotel was a bit tired and dated with popcorn ceilings, chip in bathtub, soiled carpet on stairs. Also found the valet parking awkward for going in and out ( question of whether to tip each time, etc.)

The staff here is very nice and helpful, especially that gorgeous African American Lady!! Some people said it is marginal place which is true. But if you want to visit San Francisco and want to find a cost-effective hotel, Waterfront is also a good choice since it is very closed to the ferry dock in Oakland. Therefore, you could take a water taxi to Market street or Fisherman`s Wharf. 30 minutes one way and very beautiful.

Restaurant/bar was under renovation. Not a criticism, just a fact.

Spacious room/bathroom, comfortable bed, waterfront view.

No balcony (single woman would liked to have had the opportunity to sit out alone in the evening as I don't like sitting in hotel bars.) Found staff amenable but not friendly, seemed to be a disconnect, that they were going through the motions. I arrived at the main lobby, was placed in the Spinnaker building but had to tote 3 bags along outer corridor, up the elevator, along indoor coridor alone. For amenities offered in room, found the price to be too high.

The location is great. I paid extra to have a water view which was beautiful. There are great restaurants within walking distance. A farmers market on Sunday. All staff was extremely helpful and friendly.

It's a tired property. Carpets and furnishing worn, in need of a paint job. The walls were thin so there was noise throughout the night as people walked the halls and played music in the rooms. Very hard to sleep.

The wifi is horrible, totally useless. It is a disgrace of the hotel. Cannot believe this is it business in us.

Noisy trains, valet parking is a rip-off.

Nice upgrades (view, tv, iPhone player, wine, etc), but it's a hard to describe mix of new/luxury and rundown (elevators old, one broken down, etc). Really accommodating to any requests and helpful staff. I enjoyed my stay very much and was very comfortable.

There's a train that runs right past it and blows it horn every half hour.
