I liked that they had an elevator, the room was very comfortable and well furnished . The balcony with water view, private fishing pier, great selection at the free breakfast, close to the local attractions were all what would bring us back to the Waterside Inn.
Rooms were very nice and spacious. Loved the balcony overlooking the water. Glass Elevator was pretty awesome
Everyone was very pleasant and the view was great.
For a beach hotel, Waterside has everything you would want. Nice staff, quite acceptable, if a bit dated accommodations, great beds, good free breakfast, nice pool.
Breakfast was very good
Rooms need updating
The view was outstanding. Staff was great. Breakfast was a great way to start a busy day.
The cleaning agents used in the room were overpowering. We had to open the doors to air it out and seriously considered trying to find another motel.
each room has a view, spacious bathrooms, using a real key instead of a plastic card, complimentary breakfast, the out door pool and the queen beds
I liked that you could fish right outside and grill it to 24-7
breakfast was to crowed
private place, calm, quite and peaceful. It's good place to relax. Good breakfast.
Good side room bed for family of four but the bed cover sheet and blacket are smell so terrible, I felt so sticky and greecy to the body, luckily I brought my own blacket.
It is a wonderful location if you are looking for releasing your stress. There are lots of activities for kids.
Very friendly staff good breakfast very clean easy to walk to town the view is breathtaking
Small area for breakfast
Ideal location as it is an easy walk to restaurants and shops. Staff are friendly and competent. Room was large and comfortable.
Breakfast could be improved by adding yogurt and more fresh fruit.
All around great place. Staff very friendly.
nothing to report just wished more accommodations were like this one.
Staff was very cortious an helpful with about sites an things going on and what to do, had a very good breakfast
First, location. The inn sits on the Chincoteague Inlet (bay) side of the island, which is not only beautiful, but peaceful. Second, the staff. They were very helpful, extremely friendly/pleasant, and made my trip relaxing and enjoyable. Third, the Inn itself. The rooms are comfortable, quiet, with breathtaking views from the room balconies. The inn is within walking distance to many friendly shops and delicious restaurants. I can't say enough about the Waterside Inn. I will be returning to the island in September or October, and will most definitely stay at Waterside Inn.
Lovely location, very hospitable, great view for rocket launch, great pool
Breakfast was a little crowded and chaotic. If you want to be right on the main drag, this is a little out of the way.
The location was good, the view was terrific and the staff were wonderful. The breakfast was plentiful and good
Everything was very clean and in great condition, but the rooms and decor are getting quite dated. The screened door on our room didn't really work. The beds are just on basic steel frames so when person moved the whole bed moved. The place is fine, run by really nice and helpful people and is in a great location. But don't mistake this for a great or special hotel. It's a two star hotel that a lot of people really like....
Good location, good breakfast, good and friendly support staff
no view for $170/night room (including tax) Wi-fi died after 1 hour, support staff could not help, stayed there for 2 days
Sunsets and roses
The description on Google Maps for this hotel is: ""Budget Lodging with a Fishing Dock," which is accurate. We paid $180/night for 2 Queen beds, when we would have paid $250/night at Hampton Inn a few blocks away. The staff are very friendly and helpful (e.g. they gave us a credit when we checked out early, even though we hadn't met the 72-hour notice requirement), and the free breakfast is good (waffles, biscuits and gravy, hard-boiled eggs, etc.). Bring your fishing gear and fish/crab right from the pier behind the hotel without the need to get a fishing license (the hotel pays an annual fishing fee). The heated pool is nice, well-maintained, and never seemed over-crowded. This would be a good choice for a family with children, who didn't mind a musty room.
The Waterside Inn is on the outskirts of downtown (close to the Carnival grounds), which is too far to walk for dinner in the summer. The rooms are musty, since the island weather is understandably always humid (they would benefit from a dehumidifier in each room, which we've seen at other beachside locations).
Location was perfect - views were spectacular from Balcony - pool was open Until 1 am- breakfast was Included with waffles made for you - breakfast spread was ample
Not enough room in the Breakfast area when everyone came in at once - they did have picnic tables outside but it was too hot to sit there
