A delightful historic home which has been meticulously restored. There are many antiques throughout the home and we enjoyed just looking at them. The exterior was also very pleasing. The home is well stocked and very comfortable.
The tub/shower is a bit hard to get in to and would be very close for a large person.
Tiff met us and showed us all the features of the cottage. The kitchen was stocked with a huge variety of foods, drinks, teas and coffees, and all accompanying condiments. She even baked a fruit tart for us! The cottage is walking distance to many options for eating and shopping.
The cottage is across the street from a building supply which is less than scenic. The sink in the bathroom does not have a mixing faucet, and the shower is very small. All minor things that would not prevent me from returning.
Wow. We loved everything, plenty of breakfast with home baked goods, excellent comfortable period decor. Quiet location. Most of all the history of the house
Everything was perfect
This cottage was so much fun to be in, we were happy to find we could stay an extra night. You have the whole house to yourself. It's amazingly restored, and full of wondrous gadgets from the past-- and they all work! I've never gotten to talk on a crank up telephone before. Or play a Victrola. The antique fridge was filled with delicious treats; fresh berries, all sorts of juices, eggs from real chickens. Wonderful pastries with jars of home made almond butter and honey from the owners own beehives rounded out the breakfast possibilities. The owner, Tiffany, was delightful and helpful… she pointed us to several very nice restaurants a few blocks away. She really thought of everything a person could need. Even toothbrushes. Oh, did I mention the gardens overflowing with roses and hydrangeas? Or the awesome front porch? The slam or the screen door and the sound of lawnmowers in the distance? It was like going back in time to that place they always say was better;). We will return!
I'm only giving the location a "good" but honestly, Medford seems reaaaaallly spread out. I'm not sure there would be any "excellent" locations there. The view is not very scenic… a mix of light industrial and old houses. Actually, it's probably a view that the Victorians would have appreciated. Sort of "Late Industrial Revolution". On the plus side, it's near the old downtown and several very nice restaurants are a few blocks away. Porters restaurant in the old train station is a beautiful building. Must see.
Beautifully restored house; great owner, very well located and comfortable
everything is perfect。
The cottage has been lovingly restored and packed with antiques and history. It also contains enough modern conveniences (heating/aircon, washer, dryer, toaster, coffee maker etc) to ensure life is far from Spartan. After three weeks of hotels, cabins and B&Bs it was great to have the space and privacy of a whole house, especially one so lovely, and to have a proper kitchen to cook our own meals. It was a real privilege to stay at Waverly Cottage
