Score from 966 reviews Very good
Convenient subway next door Many eating places nearby especially coffee shops with free wifi
No fridge Poor wifi connection-not worth the cost
Location was good - close to Time Square and Central Park. Staff were polite and helpful.
Room was very dated, especially the bathroom which was also not very clean. No tea/coffee making facilities either in room or available in hotel.
The location is perfect, not to far from time square or Central Park allows you to move between the hectic life in Broadway to the relaxed green of the open Park. Another great advantage is having a subway station right at the door of the hotel which gives you easy access to any other part of Manhatam
Breakfast in the dinning room is not a great option, sometimes it's too packed and you need to wait for a long time. I was surprised not to have a safe in the room, you can ask one in the lobby but it's not the same. Another thing I found strange was not to have a fridge in the room which made it complicated if you wanted to buy something to keep it cold.
The hotel is minutes walk from Times Square, Central Park, MoMA and I'm sure a lot more.
This is a low/no service hotel. There is no fridge, no water, no coffee and no ice in the room. The elevators are ludicrously slow and everything feels like it was last renovated in about 1989. The very look of the room service menu suggests eating out at any of the million local choices.
Location not really bad.
Cramp, noisy, not clean enough and poor facilities
Friendly and helpful staff. The rooms are comfortable. Great location
The hotel needs refurbishment.
Clean and friendly and convenient
It was my 1st time in NYC, Most of the top notch places just by walking distance. Food? Its every where, even easy to get the HALAL food.
Arriving at the hotel it reminded me of old movies I had seen. Wall paper, high ceilings and a glitzy chandelier welcome you along with bell hops and doormen -oh my! (These chaps seem to be constantly talking baseball and the accents are distinct and fun to hear). The room(one bedroom suite) was large and stylish(old school). There was a microwave, fridge, sink, kettle and coffee maker supplied(that's it). Great water pressure and a comfy bed, two tv's and air conditioning round out the unit. The maids were all great and the bell hops etc. were good as well.Location was 5*. Right next to a subway access, a few blocks from Times Square and my favourite was it is even closer to Central Park.
The door chain was not there and you could see where several atempts to replace it had failed(shabby). The kitchen had NO dishes, cutlery, sugar, coffee, tea-nothing. I tried to get a few dishes and cutlery from the cafe downstairs but no go and no help from the staff for suggestions. The air conditioning in the living are was so loud. No View out the window just brick walls and windows(but that was a small issue). S-l-o-w elevators.
- there is NO FREE WI-FI; - the blackout in the curtin was not opaque enough; - clealiness
possible rat in the room
Within walking distance to Times Square and 5th Ave Prompt service of the front office and helpful concierge staff Housekeeper did a good job to keep the room clean
There should be a notice on where the button to turn on the aircon unit. Time to replace the bathtub
Excellent location staff friendly and extremely helpful
Convenience, comfortable king sized bed
Lack of cable, charging for internet, cramped bathroom
-Rooms are small, air con not working,no safe,no fridge(overall very poor)
Nice and clean hotel. Love the location
Not having a gym. Not being able to get free internet. Now days not having free internet seems ridiculous. Bathroom did not have any air circulation..
The location was perfect
My room was not ready and they are too small. Some of the staff could have been more helpful. They seem to lack housekeeping staff.
The iron and the board was both broken and the house keeper walked in the room early in the morning. It was real poor service I felt like I was back in the 90 the room had a old house feel. I just did not like it never again
Outside front of hotel look to the right Central park ,left Time Square a little walk but great , Carneige Deli other side of road ,eveythin within short walk
your resturant not very pleasing to look at food just ok?should offer better deal for a continental breakfast or just get a Keurig for guests, would gladly pay , larger towels but then your bathrooms are tiny but efficient, offer better rates for retun customers???
Airconditioner in the room wasn't working
close to Times Square
noisy and tiny room (even when AC is turned off there is a constant noise which comes from other AC's I think). AC of the room makes terrible noise and is ineffective. wifi costs extra (12$ per day). The whole place needs renovation as it is quite old. Lobby is crowded with people and there are huge lines at the reception. Staff are not friendly. Not recommended for this price.
