A secret hide away in the middle of west Hollywood. You would never expect such a hidden gem in the centre of west Hollywood. The room was perfect.
Everything? If you live in LA, this place is such an oasis. We felt like we were immediately transported back to Europe and completely lost track of still being in the city where we live, even for a night. The grounds were gorgeous and secluded, the Ruth room was amazing (thank you to the staff for that one, by the way...), there was no city noise. We absolutely loved it.
Lovely place, clean and nice gardens, enchanting. Good to have parking
Lady on reception couldn't guide us to the hotel and it took us 2 hrs in the traffic to find it, she wasn't friendly or welcoming and we didn't receive the normal service you get, then told us it wasn't a full service hotel. Shame you don't get a coffee in the room, everything had to be paid extra for
Handy location quite ish street different ! overall quality of the place and its history free parking
Beautiful complex that was built for Charlie Chaplin with remarkable fixtures from the 1920s in an excellent location. Also, being that it is not a hotel means quite a lot of privacy which is quite nice.
Minor problems with Wifi and maintenance issues which were repaired right away by the staff.
quaint apartment-like accommodation, with full kitchen
parking might be a problem
Very nice property in an ideal location. This place has charm written all over.
Service unfortunately could be improved. When I was there, fairly significant construction work was a bit noisy. Not much an issue if this would have been communicated at time of booking. During my short stay, the room was never cleaned, such an oversight should not happen at a place like this
The location was perfect as we were close to our friends and family. When our first room had plumbing problems they upgraded us to a bigger room promptly. Staff was courteous and attentive. Rooms are very comfortable and private. The setting is exquisite as well.
Only complaint was the wifi signal was a little weak but that is minor compared to my other needs.
The front reception was very accommodating they made an exception for me being late to the hotel
Location Facilities exceeded expectation. Good coffee a couple blocks away. Super quiet.
Private lot fills up fast and street parking can be a little crazy. But we never has to park more than a couple of blocks away.
architecture, grounds, furniture, lore, cleanliness, after hours check in
The accommodation was well equipt with everything you need and it is so charming too. Wifi was good and reliable.
A bit to far to public transport but we drove everywhere to get to the sights quicker.
Couldn't find any disadvantages except that a had to spend only one night in the hotel
Small parking but it seems that they're going to work it out
I had a quick stay (just overnight). My room was very comfy & Convenient to good restaurants. Adorable place - would like to have spent more time on the property.
ONLY 1 thing- not so great. The day I left and went down the street for gas I immediately saw that my car was covered with ants. Not just a few - A LOT! Spent an hour finding a carwash and getting my car cleaned. Worried they would get in the car.
Beautiful bungalows tucked into a quiet street in West Hollywood. I wish we had stayed longer.
The studio apartment ("Steve") was very nice, with a small patio up front. The stained-glass wall was a nice touch.
Considering that there is no restaurant on site and no coffee places on a one block radius, I found it hilarious that the coffee in the kitchen came with a price tag. Most 3-5 stars hotels are providing the coffee for free in the room. I did not use it ; went to Alfred's on melrose Place instead.
+ Very nice building, yard and garden; + cozy rooms; + good parking; + patio with bbq and place for smoking
- reception girl was not friendly at all, and my card was credited twice (although they returned money after reminder); - check what floor your room is at, as ground floor lacks privacy; - reception closes early, you will need to check your email for checking in instructions; - wifi was not great; - no restaurant whatsoever.
The "Green" enviroment of the old building, the apartment facilities and the kindness of the younger hotel staff.
At 5PM all the hotel staff get away. So, if you have some question or problem after that hour, you are in real trouble.
We got an upgrage from the studio to a one bedroom..even though it was for one night. Will consider going again for a value price.
I think charge for a cup of coffee was priced high. This should be complimentary at least for one day.
Love this place，everything is cute.
Quirky hotel, beautiful decor. Free parking, great location. Helpful staff
Great location! Private place with lots of character.
Rug shed all over our clothes and socks and most furniture had stains. Beds were not very comfortable either. It's not too bad of a place if you're not picky about cleanliness.
Staff were excellent.
