The Charlie    

Liked the private seclusion, it made a change from staying in the large impersonal hotels. On our previous visit we stayed at The London 5* hotel in West Hollywood, we wish we had know about The Charlie residences before then as it was all round better value for mone.y

There was nothing that we didnt like

it was simple and clean and comfortable

i could not get the internet to work. But i had my own signal

Charming...spacious...large roof deck with lovely view...very comfortable beds...great history...gorgeous room. Wonderful ambiance.

Should be coffee in the room and maybe a small snack bar as there is not a restaurant and it is not conveniently located to walk to one.

The rooms were very well appointed

Everything was perfect. Really stylish decor and the rooms, gardens were just stunning. The service was really personal/above and beyond and the general manager even came out to greet us to make sure everything about our stay and trip to LA was the best it could be. Awesome gesture of sending us a bottle of wine at brunch in a local restaurant one of those days. Right in the middle of W Hollywood yet secluded makes this a no brainer choice for any occasion. Would make for a great honeymoon spot too. Totally 5 stars!

Great location, value for money....and beautiful peaceful hideaway in the centre of the hollywood attractions. A must for any traveller!!!! Thanks we will be back

Just needed basic supplies for the traveller eg salt & pepper and tea & coffee/milk supplies....every tired traveller wants a cup of tea!!

Feel like home.

The rooms were beautifully decorated and restored, and the space was really magical, a true hideaway.

The customer service was really bad -- we were greeted brusquely, no-one explained anything about the rooms except about the parking (which was kinda small), there was nothing in the kitchen, not even salt and pepper, there was no housekeeping the second day we were there. Also, the gardens were in horrible shape, lots of dead vegetation everywhere, and a view out of the back of the Marilyn onto a wilderness of weeds and cobwebs. I spend 3k on 3 nights for my brother and his family and me, and I think it should have been more gracious.

Beautiful grounds, unique setting, walking distance to town.

Beds need upgrading, not overly comfortable. It would have been nice to at least have coffee in the room vs. Just a pot.

We liked every single moment we spent at the Charlie. It felt really like home and the responsiveness of the management were remarkable. The place is really unique in L.A. as it was quiet and cozy in the middle of the most busy areas in LA. We loved how the place doesn't have a lobby and you use the flower paths to go to your cottage with individual entrance to each unit . It felt like you are in a beautiful secret garden. We thank Mike and Masha for making our stay a pleasant and unforgetable stay.

Readers of any of my other reviews for Booking.com will know I don't rave. So here's a first! The Charlie is a total delight. It is elegant, charming, comfortable, friendly, well-located, peaceful and in every way beautiful. From the moment you arrive, you feel you have stumbled on a blissful secret haven. Apart from its modest place in Hollywood history as Charlie Chaplin's old home, and its association with other stars like Marilyn Monroe, in its restored form today it is both stylish and highly functional. It consists of a series of self- contained cottages around a leafy, flowery courtyard, and is entirely self-catering. There is no dining room, and no bar. However shops and restaurants are not far away. Each apartment has a well-equipped kitchen, so why not live like a local and shop with the stars (and save on restaurant bills?) There is a shady communal terrace for outdoor living, and each apartment has its own parking space. It is cheaper than the big-name Hollywood hotels, and nicer.

I have no complaints at all about The Charlie. However I feel people should know that although it calls itself a hotel, it is really a set of first-class serviced apartments. Anyone arriving expecting the usual hotel facilities like a bar might be a bit surprised to find they had to go out shopping for a drink. Other than that, it's the best.

The Charlie was located in very convenient area, easy access to the most of place. I felt that it was really special place, at the same time, I felt that it was like my house. I wish I could stayed longer.

Es gab kein Personal, als wir abends angekommen sind, so dass wir alle Koffer selber ins Zimmer tragen mussten.

很好的庭院，房间也很大，适合常住，厨房设施很健全。

Payer 5$ pour un verre Ikea cassé par le lave vaisselle.

遇到酒店的老板Mike，开着他的奔驰送我们去附近他推荐的店吃早餐。小洋楼充满了文化和艺术的气息，还看- 到了喜欢的奥戴利赫本的原始照片！周边的马路上充斥着宾利，玛莎拉蒂，陆虎，保时捷各种好车从你身边开过。- Vera wang， Mc queen等设计师店也近在咫尺。早上起来跑步遇到的都是明星相，据老板说，有两位明星常住他这里。当然，- 老板的女儿Masha就很漂亮开着range over也是道风景线！临走了还送卓别林的画册给我们。

阳台上的沙发有点脏，不敢坐。床上用品有点让人失落。

Charmant hôtel ,grandes pièces ,pratique et tres bien equipe ,bien situé à condition d avoir une voiture ,parking facile.

预订前看评论就知道这家酒店并不是真正意义上的酒店，抱着体验的目的去试一试，入住后的感觉既新奇又亲切。- 因为抵达时间较晚，特地提前电话通知酒店接待生等候，否则只有下午两个小时可以check in。驻店的接待生好像只有一个叫Sasha的漂亮女孩，人很麻利友善，客房清洁虽不是定时提供的，但每天- 出门前跟她说一声就行。我们住的套房是The Clark，没有奢华的布置、先进的设备，但真的很象到了某位老朋友的家。花园不大，却幽静别致。地点稍嫌- 不便，如果自驾车就没问题了，有提供专属的车库。

Fantastisk lejlighed. Vi boede på The Sascha med egen terrasse. Lejligheden var møbleret som et privat hjem og slet ikke hotelagtig. Absolut en lille perle - og så ligger den midt I et hyggeligt villaområde.

There's a kitchen Nice design

Not clean-the floor, the garden, the kitchen,etc.. There's no even tissue paper in the living room or anywhere in the suite. The faucet even came out. I was speechless. Not worth the money at all.

建物が木造なので エアコンの効きが イマイチでした。

Veldig hyggelig hotell med sjel. Store leiligheter med god fasiliteter.

Very comfortable, relaxing atmosphere, great location, a number of good restaurants nearby.

You could have problems in finding manager when you need her. Though the check out time was clearly stated as 11.30 - 12.00, the office was closed and nobody answered the telephones. No staff was at the site during this time as well. We had to wait for 30 minutes until one lady from the staff appeared (who spoke very little English, so we had problems explaining what we need). Finally we just had to give the keys to her and leave the hotel.

花园很漂亮，有了厨房可以自己做饭有家的感觉。

由于是家庭旅馆所以工作人员神出鬼没的，想找她都找不到人，办公室电话和手机都不接。打扫卫生的工作人员也- 很不负责，第一天是下午快5点才来问需不需要打扫，第二天干脆就没有来。不推荐远程旅行者入住，交通不是很- 方便，住在洛杉矶市区可以开着车来这里享受一下隐居的感觉。
