Location location location! 15 minute walk to baboa park! Breakfast was good enough start for an inexpensive stay.
people are talking and seating at midnigt in the lobby baside rooms
Water foudation specially the sound of water.
Only con was the WiFi was a bit dodgy at some parts of our trip but that was a very small thing overall.
Very clean hotel, staff is super courteous and professional. The free breakfast is fairly basic, but they gave us water bottles whenever we asked for them which was so great. The bed was comforts me and the cleaning staff were polite and friendly. No roaches or nasty linens here! The location is less than a mile from downtown and only a couple miles from balboa park so its really easy to walk to places with things to do. Very close to a trolley stop as well.
Could be noisy and staff OK.
It's a good value considering you are in San Diego. Location is good if you have transportation.
The bed was uncomfortable and the comfort was not good.
The hot water
The staff was beyond rude, facilities manager was nice, outlet didn't work, no parking lot, only cleaned our room 3 times of the 6 nights we stayed, room smelled like smoke although it was non smoking, i am going to be calling your headquarters soon to get this remedied
I was there for a scientific meeting at convention center. it was near there(30 min on foot or 10 min by cab), near downtown, so in the evening after meeting, I could enjoy walking in downtown and then come back hotel. it includes all things i needed : desk, microwave, coffee-maker, warm and clean bathroom and air-conditioner. as well as iron ( which was a must for attending meeting). the breakfast was good and enough for me. the wifi worked on my tablet but not on my laptop(i don't know what was wrong with that). however, with tablet, i enjoyed having access to Wifi. I had selected my room on the ground in advance. my room was there as i expected and I enjoyed hearing the sound of fountain in the yard....:) I also have to mention that I arrived later than i expected on the first day of my stay (at 12: 00 am!)and everything was fine with my check-in.
Things looked like they were already used in the room. They only gave us one towl to dry. I even checked out a day early. I could have paid this much and stayed somewhere comfortable.
Very very slow wifi. And if you wanted to get something to eat. There was one Mexican restaurants right around the corner. Other than that no restaurants within a short walking distance.
The whole place was beautiful. Loved the landscape.
Very near the flight path, so airplanes overhead required closing the window and turning on the fan. Still, SD is under flight restrictions - after 11 until about 6 AM there were no flights. The beds were fair to poor which was the worst thing about the experience. Sheets were pilled so I asked for them to be remade. Continental Breakfast is edible if you have no food restrictions but I eat organic and don't eat processed food so there was nothing for me. One night there was noise from 2 guys hanging over the central railing - smoking and talking loudly. Staff took care of it - eventually calling police - hotel did their best but it was a lost night's sleep.
I was in San Diego for 2 weeks on business. West Park Inn was a fabulous price for such a long stay - $700 instead of the going rate of $2400 for downtown SD. Didn't do much cooking - couldn't with no cooker (I don't use microwave), but the fridge was great! Coffee was great, well adequate - I'm a coffee head so I liked that it was even drinkable! haha The second week I moved to a smaller room in the main building - beautiful courtyard. Staff was very nice and helpful. Location was very good for me and I walked most days to my training venue, or took Uber, which was always within 4 minutes.
The room was small, but adequate. For the price, it was a great deal.
Great location, nice amenities, staff was professional, buildings were in great condition. I was very happy with my choice and had a nice weekend.
My original room smelled of smoke and was cramped. Some of the staff are a bit apathetic.
The rooms in the main building are very nice, although a bit small. Good location near downtown, and nice courtyard.
Wi-Fi weak; breakfast blah but varied enough to be helpful.
Very good value for the price. Staff helpful and professional.
The room was very small, almost to the point of uncomfortable for two people. Online pics were deceiving....The wifi didn't work for us the whole time we were there (3 nights). The night staff guy said he put in a work order for it, but then the day staff gentlemen informed us that one hadn't been placed the next day....The room didn't have hangers, so we asked for some which seemed like a huge inconvenience to the night staff as he was very rude. We set a wake-up call on our last night and one was never made... We expressed these complaints upon checkout and the man working the desk did offer to refund us $35 which WAS a nice gesture, but it didn't really make up for it...
Building was very modern and we'll kept...also despite a bad apple the staff seemed good.
Poor ventilation and stuffy in room. Dirty and dingy room, carpet, sheets and towels. No toiletries (soap, etc) provided unless asked. Bed was uncomfortable/old. Shower head broken, spits water outside curtain. Shower drain completely loose and removable if lightly tapped.
Location is great, very central. Street parking is not difficult to find. Staff are descent.
The Elevator was painstakingly slow (but it is nice that there were stairs adjacent to the elevator)
The staff were very accommodating and although its very basic amenities the value and location were perfect for our stay. the breakfast was very simple but got the job done.
There were a lot of bugs and Spiders. The shower took a long time for the hot water to kick in each time the shower was being used.
The price was good for a week, the bed was nice and Comfortable.
there is no kitchen its a fridge the shower head was falling off the bed was disgusting and small.
There is nothing that I did not like about this hotel.
The location, the continental breakfast, the room opening onto the courtyard, the easy check-in and check-out, the pleasant staff.
Av unit was frozen, did not function. The bed was really firm n uncomfortable. Smelled funny and the room seemed to be poorly maintain.
guest service had a really good personality.
odor , as if there was not aired for weeks
the central location
The noise of the old air condition is so loud that even next room uses it, you can hardly sleep.
Very good location. Just walk straight & reach the gaslamp district (center of the city). Rooms were clean, helpful staff, nice hotel.
Room was small Staff was not the happiest
Price Location Cleanliness
Planes overhead, but they stop overnight. Only window in room faces exterior corridor. Not an issue if you're just there to sleep.
Location close to downtown, airport, & Balboa Park. Compact rooms but well furnished. Basic breakfast provided. Overall good value.
