눉There were a few things:
The refrigerator was not only off but unplugged--so I had to go through quite a lot of contortions to plug the thing in. While this may be money saving for the hotel, and green, and I understand (even applaud) turning it off between guests--to have to get on the floor, figure out which plug is the fridge, turn on lights to see the outlet, still not be able to see the outlet, or move the furniture, then hyperextend my arm to get behind the furniture while kneeling on the floor to plug the thing in by feel...just seems like a lot to ask of your guests. Stranger, it seems like a lot to ask of your housekeeping staff to reverse the whole procedure. Even stranger than that is that there is an obvious solution, on the side of the furniture is a mounted power strip with an on/off switch--why not just plug the TV, fridge, etc there and switch it on a couple of hours before the guest arrives?
While the room looked very clean there were a couple of problems--dust build up under the sink which was noticeable to the casual observer, believe it or not I am not a clean freak by any means, so if I actually noticed it...also the mirror had missing molding and the sink surround was very worn and sad looking.
Finally, the bedding was very clean and crisp, which I like but others might find rough. I found the bed sort of uncomfortable--this doesn't matter if one stays a night, and obviously is hugely subject to taste so I am just saying.
Having said all that, I did enjoy my stay but can't help thinking that if I am going to spend this much on a hotel room even in a major city, even if I am just there for a conference rather than as a tourist really the hotel shouldn't be so dependent on people going out to enjoy their stay.
눇I had a very pleasant stay, but as I was there for a conference I didn't really get a chance to explore the area or the tourist oriented things the hotel might provide.
