    Everything was great. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable and the location was perfect.

    The elevators and hallways were quite warm.

    DuPont Circle excellent location -metro and lots of good restaurants close by. Short walk to hoping hop off bus.

    The friendliness of staff, the room , the lounge and the cookies in the lobby were a nice touch.

    Very well decorated hotel. The room was also well decorated, with very nice furniture and with nice little extras. The bathroom had one of the best showers we found during our holidays.

    There was free internet in the lobby, but the internet in the room was extremely expensive. It was a bit weird because the lobby (that had only 3 or 4 seats) was always full of people accessing internet. The room wasn’t soundproof. We could here all the noise in the hotel corridor.

    Great Dupont Circle neighborhood. Considerate and helpful hotel staff. Elegant, old-school decor.

    Check in mix up sent me into a room that was already occupied. Breakfast service a bit inattentive.

    The hotel was beautiful and in our absolute ideal location - steps from The Phillips Gallery, Dupont Circle shops, lovely neighborhoods, the Metro and restaurants. The room was beautifully appointed and quiet with a fine view of Massachusetts Ave (which I had requested) and the Indonesian Embassy. We were entitled to a morning newspaper and upon check-in were asked our preference. We said the New York Times but it wasn't there in the a.m. When we checked with the front desk, they explained that they couldn't get the NYT and that if the Washington Post was okay, they would add that as our #2 choice. The Post was there the next morning. The staff was very attentive. The doormen were always ready to open doors and get cabs if we needed them (which we didn't). The woman who cleaned our room was very kind and left us extra packets of regular coffee when we asked.

    There weren't enough electrical outlets so next time I'll bring a plug strip. The lobby was small so that when a lot of guests were there, it was really jammed.

    very elegant type setting

    nothing in the room to indicate anything about the hotel's high-profile restaurant, nor about the breakfast room.

    The room was lovely and so spacious. The shower was incredible. One of the best rooms I've ever stayed in.

    The deposit was the same cost as my stay - still waiting for it to go back into my account 5 days later which means little travel money for the rest of my trip!

    Attention by staff

    We're retired, and are trying to watch our spending. The whole tipping thing is mystifying to us. Every time we turned around we encountered staff trying to do something for us. Don't get me wrong, they were very friendly and helpful, but it felt a little like they were trolling for tips. Had we tipped someone every time, we would have run out of money. Then I felt guilty when I didn't tip them every time...I guess that's maybe how it's supposed to work.

    Location was good, the embassies were nice to look at. DuPont Circle was just 2 minutes away, many restaurants nearby. There was a market on a Sunday at DuPont circle. Staff was very accomodating. The hotel building itself was very nice - sense of history, grand and classy.

    Wifi was not free and, when bought, was slow.

    The hotel while excellent was also located at DuPont Circle a hub of restaurants and a feeling of being in the suburbs, my sister and I felt very safe in the evenings, a good 30 minute walk to the White House or 2 stops on the metro.

    It's in a good location and a building with nice architecture at least externally and the common areas.

    The rooss are furnished with warn and outdated furniture and facilities especially the bathrooms are in really poor condition embarrassing for such a hotel.

    Great location! Comfortable beds. Rooms on sides face another building with alley below so couldn't really open curtains, but room in front and back would probably be nice.

    Small lobby, with only 2 people working the small desk right by main entry doors... At times it was congested

    Fairfax is still a "classy" and beautiful hotel, with an illustrious history. Great Dupont Circle location. Excellent breakfast.

    The property badly needs renovation. In my room, windows would not shut well, allowing cold air in. Same problem in the lobby.
